TENNIS UPDATE

Dusty loves it. They practiced hitting the ball over the net, and there was some sort of scoring system with the squares on the court. He scored 7 points in all, and only missed the squares one of his times up. Maybe he's found his nitch?! Let's hope. So far he's not complaining. That's a start!

Tennis, Anyone?

Dusty finally decided on a sport he wanted to try.
We've already tried Karate for 3 months, the last
2 were a total killer. And after asking him about
baseball, soccer and basketball...all NO's by the way,
he brought home a flyer from school about a
Tennis League. He asked if he could try it.
"SURE," I said enthusiastically. Tuesday was
his first night, and he must like it, cuz in his prayer
that night, he asked H.Father to "bless my friends
at tennis, that they will be safe."
So far, so good. Let's hope we've found a sport to
stay with?!

Is it "too late to Apoligize?"

I'm sorry that I am missing pictures this week. I know it kinda makes a blog boring, with all the journaling and no pics to go along with...
I promise I will edit the pics in just as soon as my internet is up again. (later today, supposedly). I wanted to jot down all my thoughts before I forgot them. Cute pics to follow, I promise.

We're SO WICKED!

Ryan and I had the oppurtunity to go see Wicked on Saturday with some great friends of ours. It was incredibly awesome. I loved it. It's funny...everyone that sees it blogs about how great it was, and I've always kinds thought...ugh. another post about Wicked. But, I get it now...
We just took 2 pics of the day. One afterwards, on our way out...and one of my sweet Mother who graciously came all the way from the desert to be with my kids for the day. They had so much fun together...I never want to leave my kids with a sitter again! I didn't worry one iota...I swear. Aren't MOMs the BEST? Thanks again mom...and thanks for the great surprise of CLEAN laundry to come home to. You really are the BOMB!
oh, and a shout out to Maggiano's. Man, they have GREAT food. I'm still dreaming about Ry's Salmon and my Chicken and Spinach Manicotti....MMMMMMmmmmmmm.
Thanks Ronnie and Mindy, for setting up the day....

It's a Party. For a Birthday!

My cute girl wanted to have a "Hannah Montana" bowling party...(whatever that is.) so we did. We invited a few of her friends and some of their families to go bowling with us at Norco Brunswick Lanes on Friday after school. As the girls arrived they were handed a Hot Pink Hannah Montana shirt (all matching...so cute.) The girls bowled for about an hour. Then we had pizza, soda and cupcakes...then opened presents. At the very end of the party, our hostess brought out a REAL bowling pin, and let everyone sign it for the birthday girl. What a great keepsake. Brynne is still asking people to sign it... so adorable. She had a great time, and was thrilled with the day...
thanks everyone for making Brynne's birthday FABULOUS!

It's a Shumway FIRST...

We were crazy enough to take all of our kids to the Angels game on Thursday night.
WE just happened on some tickets from a friend of a friend, and decided to give it a try.
the seats were nosebleeds, thank goodness...i can't imagine what we would have done with Toby if we had been surrounded by people.
Guess how long we lasted...take in mind my kids go to bed at 7:30 most nights...
yep 4 innings. we were in the car by the top of the 5th.
And by then, our patience was gone. Dusty cried the whole way to the car...which, if you've ever sat in the nosebleed section, you know is quite a long walk to your car, even if you had excellent parking. I did take a sweet picture of him once in the car, with tears rolling down his face...i'll post it soon...all tears because he wanted a 5$ drink....ugh.
WE did have a good time...it was just an interesting experience.
hope you all have a great time at the games...i'm leaving our seats for you...
maybe we'll try again without Toby...as most people don't like to be kicked in the head by a two year old..how do you do it, Matt and Laura...?

my baby turns 9!

My baby girl turned 9 on the 9th of September. She is getting so big,
and I'm just so stinkin' proud of her. She is truly becoming a great
sister to her brothers, and big helper around the house, and just
this year has decided she really wants to excell in school.
I remember the day she was born, calling our parents to share in
our good news, that she was here and waiting to be held by them.
I'm so glad that she was able to know her Grandma and Grandpa
Shumway so well, before their passing, and that she has such a
great relationship with Papa Neil and Grandma Niki. Brynne is
such a sweet daughter, and i love her dearly.
She'll always be my baby....
Happy Birthday sweetie.

ALRIGHT!!!

So it's been what, 5 days since I last posted, but apparently that means I fell out of the blog world. So here's a post, just for you...you know who you are! :)
Cute pics of my boys. Sorry about the red eye. In both pics they are actually saying CHEESE. Can't you totally hear them, now?

Toby is learning so many new things...jumping, dancing (he's done this forever, just never actually gotten a picture of it) and the newest thing he's learned is that he wants the TV "ON" he says pointing at the remote. If I ignore his request, he chases me and says, "Mom, E-Mote".

he is so much like his father it's really unbelievable. And he looks just like Ry, too.
