"Dad, instead of my usual allowance, I'd like to have the present value of all my future cash flows."
I received an update from home a few days ago, with news of my sister's stellar performance at the CHS sports day. 4 gold medals, a triple jump record and a Peserta Terbaik award - truly, I have underestimated her. This of course, makes us just about even, down to the triple jump record. (No, not mine. Mine was set at PLC. I'd be snarky if she broke mine... :) Nonetheless, I am rather proud of her. If I'm not careful, I may soon be outdone. Good thing for the 6 year headstart...
In other news, Melbourne Uni training has finally got off the ground and it has never been better. Regionals are coming up 2-5 July in middle-of-nowhere Traralgon and Australian Uni Games sometime in September in the far more exciting Gold Coast. It's been awesome getting back into the mixed scene again after a somewhat uninspiring season playing women's at nationals. Still, it was a good learning experience and helped me identify a fair number of things I'd like to work and improve on.
My finals are in 3 weeks, which means it's high time to kick myself into action. Right now, I'm still cruising along at a far too leisurely pace, doing bits of study here and there and missing quite a few lectures. If only my Business Finance lecturer didn't squeak so much I'm sure I'd feel more guilty about not going.
The salsa itch is coming back again, despite feverish attempts to keep it dormant, at least until next semester. I am dancing away in my head, which, in the end, may be for the best. In my head I imagine so well the fluidity and passion and release of two dancers moving seamlessly as a unit, but I suspect as soon I as I take that first step again the reality will be much less pretty.
