I feel so cheated.

The BH has brought pretentious diction to a new high. During the holidays they sent e-mails to parents informing them of the wonderful new instalments of webcams (note: PLURAL!) to the coms, and successfully made it sound like the whole com room was rigged with those little Logitech eyes. I was excited of course, I mean, wow, you get to see who you're chatting with and like, wow, you even get to chat fullstop. Hence, you can imagine my sore disappointment upon discovering that all that really happened, was that the sewing room, which is as wide as the span of your arms (maybe less?), now has a sign pasted over it proudly proclaiming 'Web Cam Room'. A peek inside reveals one lonely webcam sitting atop a PC, which we're not allowed to use yet because, I bet, we haven't been told how to share out one webcam among a hundred homesick boarders. Uneccessary hype, that's what it is. It's like meaning toilets, and saying ablution facilities.

On another note, orientation's over, and the new girls have sorta settled in, whereas the old boarders are trickling back for another year at PLC. I've got a good cubbyhole this year, roomy and all, so lots of space for rigging up the electric. I've been pigging out on pineapple tarts, prawn rolls and kuih bangkit, which lends at least some semblance of celebration for the upcoming CNY.

Ooh! Dinner calls. Free seating tonight so I gotta run and get a good place. =) Laterz.

across the miles

Heya peeps. Arrived safely yesterday morning, flight was ok, passed pretty quick as I slept through most of it, though there was this annoying woman nearby who talked with no regard of anyone else around her. And her voice! It was the sort where prolonged exposure to such wavelengths would damage your ear. Wasn't high pitched or anything, in fact it was pretty uniquely low-ish, but in a bad way. Her husband just muttered back answers and generally looked either harassed or grumpy.

The New Girls' Orientation has been going pretty well so far, we're into the second day. I think we have a day tour to Melbourne city, Southbank and Camberwell. Weather's quite warm, kinda like back home at the moment, and the worst thing was, there isn't air-conditioning in the rooms, so I had to sleep last night with only a table fan. My room's really stuffy most of the time so it wasn't very comfortable. There's quite a large Malaysian contingent in the NGO might I add...and they get along smashingly. Hehe.

I'm beginning to feel the pinch of homesickness, not in its conventional sense though...(and in a way I haven't quite experienced before. :-/ I think I've grown too attached to the company, and it feels like I've gotten closer with some of you over the 2 months) Having spent the hols, especially the last two weeks of them with you guys, it's hard getting used to not having company over, or someone to hang out with. Badminton with PK, cycling with TP, my dear Feebsies, Hui Lynn, Kang and Harold (a.k.a. pimp! :) ...have I missed anybody out? Ah yes, Grace, Jeng Sia, Keat Wei and co. ARGH. Just thinking about the hols makes me miss you guys so so so so so so much. Thank you, guys, for such a good time. For the toil up Kiara, for the crazy dinners, for lunch at TGIF, for the weekends, for the fun and laughter, for the inside news on college, for the sleepovers, for everything. I had an awesome holiday with y'all. Hope college is going well. Those doing their licence, how goes?

I looked forward to coming back here, raring for a good start to the school year. Now that I'm here, I wish I was back again. Sighhh. *consoles self* 3 months isn't that long...and when I go back, I expect to be driven round luxuriously by PK or HL! Mwah!!

dum di da

I'm taking a break from my break. Hehe...laziness prevails again. Was halfway doing a practice SAT paper (SAT I tomorrow morning!!) and lost interest. My brain is moving too slowly for the test to show any of my true potential if I do it now.

Sitting at the hairdresser's for a good part of yesterday made me realize, that's the one place where you can stare and stare and stare at yourself in a mirror for all you like, and no one would think you're insufferably vain. =) I didn't do that of course, because it gets boring after awhile, watching him cut my hair (though he had this cool way of twirling the scissors around his fingers) and resorted to flipping through them trashy gossip mags you find at hairdressers. Let's see what I learnt.

1. Bruce Almighty's car is a 2002 Saleen S7.
2. 7 ways to have better sex. (This is all I remember from the article. The title!)
3. Erm.

That's all that registered really. It's a pretty interesting piece of info too, the car I mean. =) The rest were predictably, forgettable.

presenting....!

*dusts cobwebs off site*

Cough. It's been a month and more since I last updated, I figured it's about time to return and salvage the remains of my blog. Come back, readers! *claws desperately* I need to get into the writing habit again. I love to write, only most of the time, I'm too lazy to sit down and actually do it. My brain is a cluttered archive of half-baked plots for stories and articles which never saw light.

Oh woe is me. The holidays are making me sluggish and lethargic. And I'm PERFECTLY allowed to talk about states of apathy, ADITI. =) (Look! Another blogmention for you, if you're still visiting at all.) These days, despite all the work piled high and teetering ominously in front of my nose, I'm quite incapable at anything solid. The most effort I can muster up is probably wake up realizing I have a lot of work to do, then realizing I haven't done as much as I would have liked to, and finally, burrow back under the covers to bemoan my fate and wallow in self-pity.

Hopefully this..ahem..symbolic revival of my blog marks the end of slug-dom and the glorious beginning of good, hard work. All timed to coincide with the start of college and long study hours for you peeps, really. It's like that with the holidays (and with most things in life, actually) You never fully appreciate it until it's gone.

Speaking of gone, ex0dus and RX have left us for Singapore for..what's it been? Two weeks now? May they be..living the life (or living A life =) over there. But I doubt it's that bad. =)
