The Holterbacks become The Utterbacks

A few weeks ago, our friends Todd and Rachel got married. I'll be honest... It was the most beautiful wedding I have ever been to. From their sealing to the cutting of the cake, everything was spectacular. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City temple on such a gorgeous day.
This one was a little blurry, but I still love it!
They are fabulous, aren't they?
All the boys outside the temple.

We have such great friends! Love them!
Great day for a wedding! Thanks to Todd and Rachel, for getting us together, letting us help celebrate and party!

The Inneses

Living in Logan, we are not exactly close to family. Mine is in Colorado and most of Collins is in other parts of Utah with the exception of a few in AZ and CA! We're a little ways away from our other "family" of friends down in Utah County. We have been so blessed to get to know Matt and Natalie Innes, though. When Collin moved up to Logan, he moved into a singles ward with a group of girls. I had heard so much about these girls; the Gnomes. (They lived in a house that resembled a gnome home, and that's exactly what the ward members called it: the gnome home.) So, Natalie lived in the aforementioned home and she married Mr. Matt Innes, with whom Collin had a class with, both being liberal arts majors. Once they were married, since single/dating people dont really hang out with boring ok'd married people, we started hanging out. It started out as doubles tennis matches, and then we gradually threw in some Mexican Train dominoes and some Hand & Foot! If we were ever doing anything at all, it was typically with the Inneses.

Fortunately, for them, Matt was accepted into medical school at Virginia Commonwealth! We are so happy for them and excited for their future. But I'm tellin ya, we miss them a lot. Life in Logan has been a little depressing since they left. They're the kind of friends that when youre with them, you know you're going to have a blast! And they have such high standards, you are just better for being with them. I have a few of those kind friends, so I consider myself super blessed! Here are a few highlights, not nearly scratching the surface of our time with the Inneses.

Mya was baptized!

Mya turned 8 on July 11. So at the beginning of august, she was baptized. We are so blessed that we could go to Colorado for a quick weekend! It was great to support her and Amy and be there with the family!

Aren't they adorable. A smokin hot mama and her beautiful little girl who's growing up so fast.

And I couldn't resist taking a pic with my handsome hubby! :)

Then we had a blast out at the lake the rest of the day!!! Don't worry, I already know. My nieces and nephews are the cutest! Here are a few of them!

We ran a race...

Earlier this summer, we ran the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay here in Utah! It was short notice, but we had such a great time because we ran with family. Our SIL's family (the Ashcrofts) had a few members that weren't able to run, so Collin and I were the back up's. Nicole, Luke, Lindsey, and Wayne were in the van with us! We had a blast. This is us after our first legs.

First leg (runner 8) in action. Isn't this beautiful?

My cousin, Daron, ran with some of his work buddies. He did great, especially since he didn't train a whole lot... I guess it runs in the family :)

Our friends, Bree and Cory Blomquist ran too. We caught up wit them just after Bree dominated her last leg, which is that massive hill behind us.

Who knew we'd become such runners (although, ask us how many times we've run since...)? :)

Summer '11 ...

Oh, so this is what blogging feels like. I was beginning to forget. :) Life has been a bit crazy lazy, so it's time I play catch-up and blog out the summer. I love ketchup bthew.
Back in May, (wow, that was a long time ago) Collin and I took our annual vacation. We decided, without really discussing it in words, that we'd go on a nice trip once a year. We're still young, we don't have any kids, so why not, right? First year, Mexican cruise. Second year, African adventure. This year, California/Hawaii party. We'd toyed around with other destinations, but decided we wanted to tie in a vaca to Collins hometown and some time with his brothers fam. Plus, it was cheaper to go to Hawaii by flying out of LAX. We drove to San Clemente, stayed with Jake and Hillary, went all around San Diego county and then went to Hawaii.
While we were there, we did a lot of "firsts" for me. First trip to Hawaii. First time snorkeling. First time long board surfing and body surfing. First time SKYDIVING. It was all amazing. We rented a cute little cottage right on the North Shore that we found at vrbo.com. If you are traveling anywhere in the world, check out that website because there are some gems for decent prices. What an incredible trip though. Here are some photos to give an idea what it was like for us.
Here are a few of the California fun with Jake & Hill's fam. We did not take enough pictures with them, but we had such a great time. Their kids are adorable, and we couldn't get enough of them.

Minute to Win the Half Relay Limbo

A few weekends ago we had so much fun. We went down to Highland to stay with Brett and Kristy. We ran the Provo Half Marathon Relay. Collin ran the first half and I ran the second. We hardly trained (i.e. Collin ran once and I ran twice), but we did great, considering. Taylor and Abby ran the relay also and Kristy ran (more like dominated) the Half by herself. It was such a beautiful day. I underestimated the warm weather and got a little more color than expected, but we'll just consider that a nice base for our trip to Hawaii... (more to come later)
After the race, the fun continued. Kristy, Bree and I went to play sand volleyball with some girls in Sandy. And Collin, Brett, Cory, Taylor and Todd played 9 holes at Cedar Hills. Gorgeous day. Then, all the couples got together at Brett and Kristys for a Siete de Mayo fiest. There were yummy dips, hotdog tacos, guac, delish desserts... Muy deliciosa. Once we'd gorged ourselves, we played a bunch of Minute to Win it games. The pictures speak for themselves.
I know, we're pretty cool!
Unfortunately, no pictures were taken of the Limbo, but I must say, we have some pretty limber friends! I mean, wow! :)
We love these people, and have such a great time with them!
