School Carnival & Enoch's Surprise

I thought it would be fun to take the kiddos to their school carnival. It was raining so the activities and games were held inside and the petting zoo was outside. The carnival was well organized. They had 2 games set up in each hallway and booths along the main hall and big bounce houses in the cafeteria and gym. I wasn't able to take many pictures because I had my hands full trying not to loose any of my kids. The petting zoo was definitely their favorite!

Kade had so much fun chasing the duck while saying "quack, quack, quack!"

Enoch and the baby llama.

Kali and her favorite pony.

Poor Cole was stuck in the stroller. He was kept entertained by the balloons and candies his brothers and sister shared with him.
I bought 6 raffle tickets for five dollars (just to donate to the PTA) because I know the odds of winning anything in the raffle was VERY slim. Some parents spent lots of money just to enhance their child's chance of winning. So I was very surprised when they announced that Enoch won the grand prize.........a brand new Wii plus a Mario Party game. The look on his surprised little face when they handed him the Wii was priceless.
Our little monkey enjoying their new toy. Enoch's favorite game is bowling. He's been getting more strikes than me. He's been begging for Star Wars and Batman Legos, but too bad he's already have those for the X-Box 360.

Believe it or not, Kali's favorite is boxing. She really gets into it. Boys, you better be VERY afraid!

Of course you can't leave Kade out of the action. He likes boxing and Mario games.

Sweet & Sassy

Kali had a blast at a friend's birthday party at Sweet & Sassy. This was definitely Kali's kind of party. They got to pick a dress to wear, of course, her's had to be pink. Each girl had make-up, hair and nails done. They walked the runway, while the announcer read off their "favorite things" to the audience. They danced and laughed and SHRIEKED when the pink limo arrived! The pink limo ride was the highlight of the party......

Kali getting her nails painted. The girl painting her nails told me I have a beautiful complexion. BOY, did she made my day! I would have tipped her, but it wasn't my party.

When Kali walked on the runway, RuPaul's "Supermodel" song came to mind. Everyone my age should remember "Work, work it girl. Do your thing on the runway..."

My little girl looks like she's ready for prom. Waiting to get in the limo. I love my daughter, but I don't think I can pay THAT amount of money for just a 20 minute ride around the blocks.

The birthday girl's mom was brave enough to ride with the girls. She said they screamed the whole time. Glad I wasn't in there, but bummed I missed out on some scrapbook pictures. Oh well....

Doing Some Catching Up

The holiday has been really cRaZy with all the kids home all day, everyday for two weeks, birthdays, playdates and each of us taking turns being sick, I neglected to blog. Hey, I had to give up something! At an insane hour (YeS, check the time stamp!), I finally updated our blog and will now cross that off my "to do" list. Just ignore the time stamp on the pictures. I don't know how to delete it from the camera and the date is all wrong. I can't remember where I put the instruction book, or if I still have it. Now I just have to put Christmas boxes up in the attic and deep clean my house. Any volunteers??

The NoT So Successful Photo Op

We attempted to take the kids picture so we could send out a family New Year newsletter (you'll eventually get something in the mail). It was crazy and quite hilarious. They couldn't or wouldn't sit still, some kept making funny faces, and there was even an attempted escape by Kade. Jared was supposed to be the "wrangler", but he gave up after the fourth try. Well, at least I tried. Hope you enjoy and chuckle a little from my unsuccessful attempt to get a cute family picture.

This was the closest to being decent except for the blur:
Kali with her signature pose--hand on the hip:

Enoch taking a break:

Then....Enoch couldn't take it anymore, Cole is just "whatever", and is Kade praying for this to be over? (probably)

The boys are okay---for now...

Then they couldn't take it anymore:
Would I attempt this again, maybe, if I wasn't in my right mind. We'll just leave it to the professionals next time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ENOCH!!
WE LOVE YOU !!

Enoch is now 6 years-old!! His birthday was January 11 (our kids never had a birthday party the same month as their birthdate-yea, blame the mom). We surprised him this year, though, by taking him and his best friend to Chuck E Cheese. With my friend's help, we had a combined birthday party for him, with her sons, two weeks later. Enoch is such a sweet boy and loves to be silly with his sister and brothers. He is enjoying kindergarten and is reading books really well on his own. He is our #1 boy and we love him veRy much!!

Christmas Morning

If you look closely, we used "Baby's First" Christmas stocking for Cole because I procrastinated and didn't get to finish his stocking. It will be ready for next year--I hope.

It's a tradition for the kids to pose with their reindeers and moose every Christmas.

Thank You Nana & Papa for the beautiful ornaments!

Thank You Great Grandma Rosenberg for the books!

Grandad Larry & Betsy got the kids their very own nutcracker ornaments. Thank You Grandad Larry & Betsy!

COLE Is A BiG ONE

Our baby Cole turned 1 Christmas Eve. We LoVe him so SO so much and are very blessed to have him in our family.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COLE!!

A Visit From The Tooth Fairy

Enoch was very eXciTed to have a loose tooth. He wIGglEd and wIGglEd, ate an apple, wIGglEd and wIGglEd until it came loose. He was determined to have that tooth under his pillow THAT night, in anticipation of the goody the tooth fairy will leave in return. What DiD she leave him, you wonder? Star Wars figures-of course! She knows what each child wants--SHE's the toothfairy!!

We Had Visitors

Jared's brother, Josh, and his wife, Kate, and daughter Sydney came to visit us a couple of weeks before Christmas. I was SO glad to finally meet Kate! Jared met Kate when he went to Utah for their wedding a couple of years ago, a week after I had Kade. Our kids had so much fun playing with their little cousin. Sydney is very aDOraBLe and makes the CuTeSt expressions! We miss them already!! I am going to let them tell you what they thought of their Christmas in Houston.

Today....

This is gross, but it was too cute! Today, Kade had an epiphany-his little finger fits perfectly into his nose. It was quite funny watching his expression when he first did it and laughing at himself. He walked around a good part of the day with his finger up his nose. Great! Just one more thing to add to my list of "what to teach the kids not to do". I'm still trying to get them to stop fake burping. A mother's job is never done.

It's been awhile since I blogged, but I want to share my conversation with Enoch today. We were waiting in a line of car to pick up Cole's medicine. We were at the grocery store earlier, every kids dream place to go after school, so he was getting anxious to get home (to his X-Box game). I'm patiently listening to his griping when a car pulled up next to the car by the window and stopped. A lady got out and walked up to the window and got her meds. I know-RUDE!! I was more upset that the cashier gave the meds to her in the first place, but I didn't say anything (out loud!). Apparently, Enoch noticed this lady too.

Enoch: Hey, that girl cutted in line!
Me: Yes, she did.
Enoch: Big people cut too!?
Me: Yes, big people cut too, but only the inconsiderate ones.
Enoch: Oh....

a couple of minutes later (we're a car away from the pick-up window).....
Enoch: What is taking so long?
Me: Be patient. We're next.
Enoch: Why is that truck taking so, so long?
Me: I don't know.
Enoch: Is he robbing them?
Me: No, Enoch, he's NOT robbing them. He is just picking up his medicine like what we're doing.
Enoch: Does he look like a robber?
Me (wanting this robber conversation to end): No, he doesn't look like a robber. Why don't you sing a song to Kade and Cole.
Enoch (singing): "Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell..........."
Kade (singing): "Jenga Fett, Jenga Fett.........."

I'm smiling while listening to them sing. Yes, our monkeys like, no LOVE, Star Wars! This reminds me of an incident a couple of weeks earlier.

We were at a friend's house for dinner. The hostess told the kids if they want dessert they have to clear the table. Kali and Enoch did as they were told. When they finished, Enoch said "The area is secured." I just love having conversation with the kiddos because you never know what they will say OR ask.

Visiting Families

Jared, Julie, Cole and (my) Jared

We visited Jared's sister and her family for two weeks after the hurricane. Kali and Enoch were very excited to see their cousins. With permission they were able to attend school there for eight days because the school district here were closed due to various problems. It was such an awesome experience for them. Kjell and his family came down and we watched General Conference together. We were able to meet a nephew and a neice for the first time. It was so good to be around family again. We wanted pictures of the cousins together (hopefully we'll be able to have a picture with their other cousins Lochlan and Sydney and Charlotte -due soon...). It was very hard to get everyone to look at the camera. Hopefully, between me, Kjell and Jared taking pictures there is bound to be a good one. Thank you Julie and Jared for letting us visit. We love you guys!!

One Year Older!

Happy Birthday to Kade! After the singing, blowing out the candle, and slices of cake, the birthday boy wanted to blow out more candles. We gave him a slice of cake with a candle on it. Then he just sat there looking at his candle saying "it's hot".

Silly monkeys!

Cole enjoying the cake. Kali tried to give him an ice cream mustache.

Kade was really excited to get this Signing Time dvd. Thank you Nana & Papa! We love Signing Time!!
