Brace Face

I got braces. Yep, I'm 32 years old and have a mouth full of metal--well, it's technically clear material, but I could be mistaken for your average 6th grader :).

My teeth are fairly straight, but since I had my wisdom teeth removed, I swear one tooth has created a mind of its own and is trying to turn sideways. Luckily I know very important people in high places that know lots of cool stuff like how to put on braces ;) (THANK YOU Dr. Steven Hunsaker!)

I wanted them to fix my crazy tooth, but the Doc wants to fix my bite too so you can call me brace face for the next 10-14 months. I figured no better time to do it since I'm fat and happily pregnant at the moment :).

Applefest and SUU Homecoming

We had the most fabulously, wonderful weekend! It was a whirlwind, but SO much fun! We left home bright and early Friday morning and made it to Cedar in 7.5 hours. A quick lunch at PF followed by a change of clothes and we were off to Fillmore for Marcae's annual "Applefest" in honor of her dear, sweet daughter Kate who passed away a few years ago.

Marcae is Matt's cousin and "Applefest" takes place at Uncle Alan's Farm which might be the grandest place my kiddos have ever been! They absolutely had THE BEST time EVER! Matt and I had a great time too despite the freezing temps (55 degrees IS freezing to us now :).)

The night was filled with yummy dutch oven food, freshly made apple cider from the farm, dancing to a live band,
bonfire, great conversation, swinging
and RAIN (which didn't stop any of us!)

All 6 of us crammed into the local "Comfort Inn" and surprisingly all slept. It was our most successful hotel night sleep ever! We woke up early Saturday morning so Matt could start his race. Marcae includes a 5K, 10K and Kids Fun Run in "Applefest." Although it was hard, Matt did a great job in the 5K and even took 1st place in his age division (wow!) Wade did awesome and took 2nd overall running the mile in 6min 40sec (HOLY COW!), Seth did great coming in with a 9min 16sec mile (awesome!)and Trenty wasn't very interested in the race and completed about 50 yards of itand changed his mind :).

After racing we got to enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast followed by a HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE! Yes, a hot air balloon ride--SO COOL! We all got to go. Rylee refused to give her turn up, she bawled until we let her go and LOVED it. The balloon just went straight up and then back down again, but it was the perfect ride for us. Loved it!

Finally the kids got to enjoy the farm animals. Rylee was enamored with the chickens and kept trying to cluck like them. Wade, Seth and Trent got to ride on the horses which thrilled them to the bone! Lots of swinging, climbing and jumping on the trampoline took place until we had to bribe our kids with candy to leave.

It was such an amazing time! We had such a blast and created memories I know our kids will never forget. We will definitely be making an annual tradition of this, it was just TOO much fun!

We left "Applefest" a little early in order to make it back for SUU's Homecoming football game. I had a little reunion with some of my Presidential Ambassador friends (so great to see them) and then it was game time!
The game was a lot of fun and I cannot believe it has been 10 YEARS since I have been in that stadium--time really flies. It all looked and felt the same.

The energy was great and we are some proud alumni (and possibly FUTURE SUU students) here. The Thunderbirds rocked it and beat the University of Texas-San Antonio by a large margin--so large, Seth and I left during the third quarter because I was getting bored :).

We headed back for home first thing Sunday morning. Like I said--whirlwind, but definitely worth it!

Whoa Baby...Here We Go Again!

There's no hiding this bump...

Baby #5 is on the way! We are thrilled! I am only 10 1/2 weeks along, but I look like I'm double that :). I guess a body knows what to do after it has done it 5 TIMES!

Due April 4th--excited for a Spring baby to join Trent and give me a little relief from all the Fall babies around here :).

I'm feeling SUPER sick--ALL DAY, EVERYDAY, but it is definitely worth it. We cannot wait for this new baby to join our chaos.
