Logan

Logan just had his first photo shoot and I couldn't resist posting some of my favorite pictures. Our friend, Bekah Shakespear, took the pictures. She has just started her own photography business and you can look her up at http://www.bekahphoto.com/. I think she did a great job!

I, also, think he looks so cute! I can't help that I am just a proud auntie! Enjoy!

Wade's Sweet Thoughts

I have Wade and Seth enrolled in a music class that my friend teaches. This is Wade's third time and Seth's first. Because Wade is three it is a drop-off class for him. Now, I was a little nervous to send him off on his own.

You just never know how they are going to act. I mean, he is only 3 years old and I didn't want him to be rowdy or over-excited (which we all know Wade can be) while my sweet friend is trying to teach him and three other 3 year old boys a little music.

After the class, I made my friend promise to tell me if Wade was good or not--I told her it would not hurt my feelings if he acted out and I wanted to know so I could talk to him about it more. Well, I guess I should have a little more faith in my son.

My friend, actually, told me that she asked each little boy what his favorite thing is. They each responded with the typical answers: trucks, spiderman, etc. But my little boy, told her that his favorite thing in the world was "his family!"

That little comment melted my heart and made my whole week! I hope I don't sound like I am patting myself on the back, or anything, I just wanted to share because I thought it was so cute!

Our trip to Cedar

We just got back from our latest trip to Cedar City, Ut. Some of you may be thinking to yourself, "wow, they go to Utah a lot." It has seemed that way lately (especially since Matt's parents have gotten home from their mission), but we, actually, went for our good friend's wedding.

He was married in the St. George Temple, which made things easy for us because we got to stay in Cedar (about 45 miles north) with Matt's parents. It was also great because Matt's parents watched the boys while Matt and I got to go to the sealing and other wedding day events!

Matt grew up in Cedar City and we both went to college there, so it is always a BLAST to visit. We get to see old friends, eat at one-of-a-kind restaurants (that we LOVE), visit Matt's family and just be in our old college town where we had such a great time going to school.

The kids LOVED seeing their cousins and Granny and Grandpa. They built forts, visited two different parks and ran around ouside (which is unbearable in the AZ heat right now!) All in all it was a great trip.

Wade and Seth LOVE Logan

As most of you know, my sister, Jess, just had her first baby. He is darling and it is so great to have a baby around again. My kids feel the same way--they LOVE baby Logan.
Wade really loves to "hold" Logan and when he does it is so sweet. He talks to him and tells Logan how much he loves him. He is also very gentle. Jess has really been cute with Wade, calling him her "big helper" and always makes him feel like he is "babysitting" his new cousin. Wade eats it up and loves it.

Seth adores Logan too, or it would be more accurate to say: Seth adores "Gogan" --as he calls him. We have to constantly remind him to be "nice, nice" and to give soft touches, but Seth is pretty good at being gentle. Whenever "Gogan" is around Seth is circling him and climbing all over whoever is holding Logan so he can get a good look or, perhaps, a quick touch in.

As I said above, it is a lot of fun to see my kids interact with their new cousin. In these pictures, Jess is getting ready to leave and my kids are swarming around trying to get as much of Logan as they can before he has to leave. Logan, thankfully, doesn't mind all the love, attention, pokes and squeezes he gets from my boys:)

First Day of Preschool and the Spiderman "pack pack!"

Today was Wade's first day of preschool. He ran right in and absolutely loved it. I am excited for him, but I can't ignore the little part inside of me that is sad. It is weird to see your kids grow up (as many of you have mentioned this past week as you sent your older kids off) and especially since he is my first to enter the world of school. He just seemed so big. I guess I will be okay though, after all it is only twice a week for two hours per day!

All sadness aside, it was great to see his enthusiasm. His teacher said he helped show the kids where to hang their backpacks and that helped her out a little. He also has two, little friends in his class, so he is thrilled.

Now onto the second, more exciting--at least to Wade, part of my title--the Spiderman "pack pack," which is how Wade says Spiderman Backpack. This accessory has been the center of our week. As soon as Wade found out he got to get a backpack for school, he set his mind on a "Spiderman" one.

We went to Target and Wade, gleefully, ran to the school supplies and chose the perfect "Spiderman Backpack." He immediately put it on and was dancing through the aisles. When we got home, both he and Seth could not stop playing with it. How do you play with a backpack you might ask, well I don't know except that they were entertained with taking it on and off for quite awhile. Wade even slept with his new backpack!

I do not know where he got the idea of a backpack, since he is the oldest, I don't know if he has ever, really, seen one closeup, but he is thrilled to have it. Oh well, if it makes him more excited to go to school then, I guess, it doesn't really matter. Who would've thought something so simple (and cheap) could bring so much happiness to my boys?
