Amber's Egg Drop

Amber's class did the egg drop this year. She was estatic that it was finally her turn!
You would think that we would have this down, but no; Amber's egg BROKE!
I missed the picture of it being thrown from the roof. Here's the anticipation of finding out.
Finally, the broken egg. Normally, the children end up tossing the eggs in the trash after pictures are taken but I was surprised how many eggs seemed to be going home! Even though Amber wanted to do the same, we decided it would be best to throw it away.

Amber

Amber has been complaining a bit about her back. Consequently, I scheduled her an appointment with Dr. Smith. They took the usual x-rays and then the doctor came in. He says that her back looks like he expected it to and as far as the curve, it's about the same as it was in October. For now, we are blaming the pain on a summer-type activity level because of the warm weather we had and expecting her to re-adjust as time goes on and the sun comes out to stay.

Reminiscing

In the midst of the crazy month of May, we made a trip to Idaho for my Grandpa's funeral. Again with the Memorial day weekend, I've been thinking about trips to Lagoon with Grandpa and Grandma and Jennifer, going for ice cream, driving Grandma crazy as we impatiently waited until we could go meet Grandpa on the bus, Getting up at 3:30am if you wanted to go fishing with Grandpa, Playing Checkers, Trips to the Cemetary, Picking Huckleberries and Asparagus, The Christmas Eve where we had finally been told we were going to bed because Grandpa and Grandma had probably decided not to come because of the blizzard outside (we couldn't see past the carport!) and a few minutes later the doorbell rang and there they were! The Wrassles on TV - every night, The apple tree swing, hunting for worms, Meeting in Logan for lunch, Working on the garden and the bay window, Grandpa working at the cabin, and Having Grandpa and Grandma here to help me when Ashley and Kyle came along! and again having Grandpa tell me "Marilyn, I think that shelf is off just a bit." Of course, he was right but I think it drove him crazy to know that it was off. I'm glad that Grandpa isn't having to suffer any longer and I'm thankful for the memories I have.

I have finally caved in. I'm hoping that this will be a good way to keep people up to date as far as the goings on of the Rees household. Life has been a bit on the crazy side lately - With things like a Dance Concert, a final Band Concert, a Habitat Fair, a Craft and Hobby Fair, Varsity Scouts, 11-Year Old Scouts, Young Women's, Activity Days, Science Assignments based on "An object in motion is always in motion...", Drumline, Temple Celebration and general family life. I'm glad the school year is drawing to an end and the end-of-year craziness is about to end. I won't promise to always be up to date, but hopefully, this will work for now.
