do it again mommy
This picture for sure deserved it's own post. We conveniently positioned my mom in the front of the log for the Splash Mountain ride. I was behind her, Brianne behind me and Andy bringing up the rear. She of course got the brunt of all the splashes and she made a perfect shield for me! Sorry mom, but it was soooo fun!!!!
Disney II
While Andy was home on leave we had the opportunity to go to Disneyland with the whole family. We had a wonderful time and I'm sure we will visit there again sometime in the future.
It was so nice to have Andy home. We did a lot of fun things and just enjoyed being with each other. I thought it was going to be weird having him home but it was so easy to transition being back together again. We are looking forward to March when we can be together again for good. Sadie already is planning their next trip to Chucky Cheese (the highlight of her time with daddy).
The famous Tea Cups. Sadie's favorite ride, and for sure my least favorite.
Sadie fell fast asleep the first night we were there. Grandpa sure didn't mind this arrangement.
I had contacted Disneyland ahead of time to see if they paid any tribute to soldiers. They arranged for Andy to be part of a flag lowering ceremony. The Color Guard honored him and we got some VIP seats to the water show and some fast passes to skip to the front of the line. It was awesome and much appreciated.
Again, Sadie with the Princesses. Maybe she will be a Princess at Disneyland when she grows up.

departure
I'm in a drugged up state and very tired so if this post makes no sense, please forgive me. This morning I took Andy to the airport to bid him farewell for the next 3 months (oh please let it only be 3). I couldn't stop hugging him. I knew he had to go through security but I just didn't want to let go. Somehow we managed the goodbyes and both went our separate ways. And now I miss him snoring in bed and kneeing me when he rolls over. I miss his smile, his laugh and the way he can make Sadie giggle. The list could go on but mainly I miss you. Sadie misses you. We both love you (a lots!). Thank you for being our Andrew King Burger Rasmussen :) :) :) come home SAFE and come home SOON.

Miska Mooska
Braden's and Sadie's last night together. They chose to spend it in their special chair. They were watching Mickey Mouse clubhouse and Sadie thought it appropriate to wear mouse ears.
Look at their cute little feet!! They just love each other sooooo much. We sure are going to miss our fun days with each other! We love you :)

Going, Going, Gone...
As I am getting ready to go home from Afghanistan, I had to get rid of this strange, yet manly, red beard I have been sporting here. It is quite an interesting change going from beard to no beard. I am going to miss it and look forward to growing my next funny looking beard. (I still don't know why it was so red. Oh well.)
