Our Mommy Robin

Our Robin disappeared for a few weeks and then she showed up again on Wednesday. I think she has laid her eggs because all she does is sit in her nest. She is a dedicated bird. When it rained the other day I wanted to put an umbrella over her head. Us moms have got to stick together, right? Anyway I didn't bring her an umbrella because she would have probably flown away and she's got feathers anyway...

Here's a poem dedicated to all the worms in our yard:

Early Bird
Oh, if you’re a bird, be an early bird
And catch the worm for your breakfast plate.
If you’re a bird, be an early bird—
But if you’re a worm, sleep late.

Love this wall arrangement!

I got this picture off of Morgan Moore's blog. I love this wall of pictures. So cute. Maybe I can do this in our basement when it's finished. My mom has a wall of 'ancestor pictures' that is similar. Love it!

Loving Memories...

On Sunday we went to the Richmond Cemetery with Shane's Dad and Grandpa. We left flowers for Grandpa's wife, Elaine; Shane's mom, Myrna; and Shane's brothers, Troy, Brandon and Toddie. I love the Richmond Cemetery - I have never been to a more beautiful one. It overlooks Cache Valley, it's quiet, and surrounded by trees. When I was younger I didn't really enjoy Memorial Day. I thought why are we wasting flowers? Do they really care? They are probably busy on the other side. But now I see how important it is to remember those we love who have left. It's a way to honor them, and remember them...Jessa picked about a jillion dandelions and left them on her Grandma Myrna's stone. Shane was going to take them off when we left, but I asked him to leave them. Wouldn't it tickle Grandma Myrna to know her grandaughter picked all those flowers for her? Today Jessa asked me if "those people in the ground" could see us. I said "yes." And I believe they did.
I wish we were close to Salt Lake so I could leave flowers for my grandparents...I visually left them flowers in my head...and remembered. Grandma Mary's garden, her cousin sleepovers, her warm smile, crowded Christmas Eve at her house on Howey Drive...Grandpa James I never met you, but I love you anyway... Grandma Madeline, your beautiful home, homemade candy bar candy, peeling peaches at the cabin in Island Park...Grandpa Wally, fishing at Island Park, your hammock by the creek, your beautiful roses...

Caleb's Birthday Party

Caleb is his own person. If it was Jessa's birthday she would be squealing and smiling ear to ear. Caleb's personality is mellow. He just likes to take it all in. Even though he's not as expressive as Jessa, I know he had a great time. His favorite present was a tool kit, he's been sleeping with it. He also loves his new scooter!

Lavender Blue, Dilly Dilly

Jessa danced in her recital last night. She danced to Lavender Blue, Dilly Dilly, and she had a big purple flower as a prop. She was all smiles -- she likes to be on stage. She had a huge smile on her face when everyone clapped at the end. I love this picture of Jessa and Caleb...It shows how Caleb looks up to Jessa in everything she does...Caroline, can you please bring Reed and David over to play? And please, bring lots of cars and trucks...

Happy Birthday Dad!

I love you Dad! Thanks for all of your good advice, trips to Wendy's, root beer floats and knuckle rubs!

These are days...I will remember

A Happy Mother's Day and a Happy Birthday to Dad celebration! Mom and Dad drove up to Tremonton and we had some yummy barbecued steaks, red potatoes, asparagus, rolls, jello and strawberry shortcake for dessert. We took a little walk around the neighborhood afterwards, and then Jessa and Grandpa played catch.

My Super Man

Happy Birthday Caleb!
Caleb turned 3 yesterday, he's thrilled that his is "getting bigger."
Fast Fact about Caleb:
*Mild Tempered (compared to Jessa)
*Likes to pretend he's a 'baby snake' or a 'kitty cat'
*Amazing hearing...he'll hear a plane or a train before Shane and I can
*Mischevious - likes to get into the cupboard for a graham cracker, takes water out of the toilet for messy play in his room, likes to color on himself, likes to cut things that are not paper (like Kenzy's shirt)
*My snuggler...and the best hug giver!
*Jessa's buddy and accomplice in crime (like coloring on Caleb's bedroom walls)
*Sweet - likes to tell me "I love you"
*mechanical -- drew a picture of a 'water softener' Is that normal for a two year old? Loves pipes, heating ducts and anything mechanical...it must be in the genes!

Caleb's Bedtime Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank-you for my sandbox,
and thank-you for my toys,
thank-you for my legs,
and thank-you for the sandbox.
In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

The Eccles Dinosaur Park

The ride home...two tired kids!

Jessa's lunch bag. It's a picture of Jessa, Kenzy, Mommy and Daddy is in the car. It was a perfect day for a picnic. The Dinosaur Park has a little pond and Jessa just watched the ducks the whole time we ate.

Fun at the Dinosaur Park

You better be nice to me!!! I'm the world's most dangerous creature!

Dinosaurs!!!

The nice part about this dinosaur park is that it's outside. The kids can run around and be noisy and not hurt anything. They had fun exploring, picking dandelions, running, and hopefully they noticed the dinosaurs! :)

These wooden murals were a lot of fun, I have to admit...
