Dear Santa

The boys got to meet Santa and tell him all about their wish lists. It was so fun to see how magical Santa is to them. These little guys had a blast and really enjoyed their time. Thanks to Jeska Bailey for the photos!

Poor Santa never saw it comin!

See ya soon Santa!

Family Photos 2014

Every year I convince Trevor we need family photos. I'm sentimental when it comes to my photos. I look at previous years in my computer and phone all the time and think about the sweet memories associated with each photo. To me, they are one of my most treasured belongings. This year I invested in a new camera and decided to save money and have someone use my camera and snap some pictures that I would edit myself. It's not quite the same as getting the package from my favorite photographer and devouring each image like it's a present but it got the job done. Thanks Steph for helping us out and taking these. We did them down at the rock bottom of Red Creek on the Probandt ranch. It was beautiful and it makes me want to go down there and explore more sometime soon!

afterward we made smores! It was a reward for 3 boys having to endure pictures!

Cowboys and Indians

Brothers are for fort building, stick sword fighting, wrestling, and sharing adventures. I'm so grateful that these boys share such a special bond. They love each other and would fight for each other! They are so opposite in some ways and yet just alike- my little wild indian and my cowboy.

Bowen is my wild man-he was supposed to be the indian but decided that wasn't in his plan so Tate decided he would do it and they switched clothes. Nothing ever goes as planned but that's no surprise.

Oh, Brothers! Nothing in the world makes me happier than these two little guys!

Meet Dixie Pearl

Dixie is the newest member of our family. She is a very sweet, playful, energetic, and happy girl. She was found roaming a greenbelt near I-30 in Fort Worth. Bless her heart she was rescued after 3 days of efforts by a sweet lady named Suzette of No Kill Fort Worth. I knew she was the one when I saw her online. Trevor had been certain he wanted a Boykin Spaniel but they are very hard to come by and if they're from a breeder they are around $1500-$2000. I've always been more of a rescue dog person myself so I just didn't feel right. So I scoured adoptapet and findapet.com to find a Boykin but never could find one close. Then we were giving up the idea of a Boykin and I remember saying a prayer for God to lead us to the right family dog for us and I looked one more time on those websites and found her. It was like she was selected for us. So I got in touch with Suzette the next morning and arranged for us to come to Fort Worth to meet Dixie and if it worked out we would bring her home.
When we first came out into her area she wasn't so sure about us. She barked and was hesitant. She stayed near Suzette but not long after she decided she wanted to check us out and not much longer she was giving the boys kisses.
Tate thought she was pretty sweet.
She needed a little time but she wanted to be near us.

Trevor got his Boykin. On the way home she was Trevor's co-captain and gave lots of snuggles and kisses. She did great in the car and the boys liked having her back there with them.
She loves to play and needs lots of exercise. This poor baby of hers lasted all of a week and most of her others have lasted less than a day. She also loves bones and belly rubs and is always by our sides. She is a sweetheart and definitely a fun addition to our family. We are glad to have her in our home.

Isn't she so pretty?! Love you Dixie Pearl

Trunk or Treating

Tate had his school's trunk or treat on Halloween and wanted to be an army man! I think he has to be the cutest army guy ever!

am I right?! Cutie

Bowen will dress up like 95% of the year, but for the past two years come Halloween he won't put on anything! He wanted to be a bull bat for the last month and I put together a costume and did he want to wear it? Nope. But he was super excited to hand out candy to all the kids who came by.
Tate's class with his sweet teacher who had her baby like the very next day.

Anybody who has known my dad for a little while will probably know about the cone head mask. It's been around since the stone age and it made it's first appearance for the grandkids on Halloween! I can't believe that thing is still holding up. Tate wanted to pop him in the face
Bowen thought it was hilarious
but Tate wanted to be the good big brother and just make sure he was alright
Oh Cone Head mask! hahahha
Boys Halloween goodies
The silly string was a major hit by the way!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween from the little hunters and their "deer" Mama!
