The Past Few Weeks

Well, the last couple of weeks have been busy. Tia, Adam's sister and her son where here for a few days last week. We went to the Riverbanks Zoo with them and though the Kangaroo exhibit sadly was not full of Kangaroos (I was really disappointed), the trip was still a success. Will (our nephew) really loved the chickens, they were the only animals that he really paid any attention to! My favorite part was feeding the Giraffe (since I've sadly never done it) and the Penguins! If I could own a Penguin and keep it in my bath tube, I totally would! Though I think Adam would notice ;)

Aside from company, and Adam working all the time, all I've done is job search and I got to go to Myrtle Beach for a few days. My job search is going poorly since it seems Columbia is just a hole. Myrtle Beach at least has tourist traps that are fun to work at but here in Columbia, I mean really who wants to come to Columbia. As I have heard it referred to lately, Columbia is a concrete frying pan in the summer (thanks Brother Bailey). Myrtle Beach was great though! I got to see my niece Heidi and my nephew Will along with the rest of the family of course! :-D Heidi is just a month old so she is still in the sleeping and pooping stage but she is so cute and fun to just hold and look at! I also got to see my family and enjoyed a nice horseback ride with my mom on Friday. Now that I am married and live away from my family, going and visiting means so much more and it never seems like I stay long enough. It was nice just to relax with the families and catch up on whats going on. It was hard not to be there with my hubby though. So even if it wasn't a long stay it was still really nice to come home to my Adam and hear about work and the weird things people did while I was gone.

Hopefully the job front will look up on me soon! But until then I have some crafty projects in mind. I am hoping to get my moms sewing machine soon :-) and the possibilities become endless once I figure that out! I'm excited!  Welp thats all for now. Until next time here are a few pictures of our recent adventures....

                                            Giraffe feeding experience.

The giraffe kept sticking her tongue out at us so he decided to stick his tongue out at her too!

Probably my favorite picture of the day! This is me and Will my nephew!

We have a Graduate

On Saturday May 8th, 2010 my husband Adam graduated from the University of South Carolina with his BM in Music Composition. His whole family traveled from Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Charleston to see him walk across the stage. He was so cute! Since the color of the tassel depends on your major and being a music major his tassel was bright pink. I made fun of him but it was really cute too. He said he was proud of it.

His family all arrived around 11-12ish and we headed out for lunch. Though because of it being Saturday in Columbia, everyone and their mother were out and eating at the exact restaurants that we wanted to go to. Figures. So we ended up with lunch at sonic, it was quick and easy so useful. We then headed to the Colonial Life Arena (the largest college arena in the state :-P ). The remainder of Adam's family arrived and we all found seats and settled in for what we thought would be a long ceremony. About an hour and a half later we were congratulating all the graduates and snapping pictures with our own graduate. I think Adam had the biggest smile on his face that I've seen since our wedding!! After all the hard work that he has put in the past four years especially this past semester he was so glad to finally be done. When we finally left the Arena we headed back to our apartment and hung out with all the family. We haven't seen them in a while so it was nice to hear about their doings. We also met our niece on Saturday who was born two short weeks before. She is beautiful! It was really cute to see my husband in his cap and gown cradle little Heidi. Our nephew Will also attended. He is one and looks giant compared to Heidi. Adam got a picture with both the little ones and I think it is my favorite picture of the day.

By the time we made it back home with the family it was dinner time and prime time for restaurants to be full again, so instead of fighting the crowds we decided to stay in and have pizza for dinner. It was great. Adam got to share some of his music with his family and they got to watch a video of me conducting the USC Concert Band. I got to play with Will and got to hold Heidi! We had so much fun with the family and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. After cake and ice cream the family left around 10 pm (putting most of them home around 1am).

Now when Adam gets home from work, he freaks out for a moment trying to figure out what he has to do for school and what homework is due but then he realizes with a smile that hes done. He then promptly reminds me that he is so glad to be done. I can't wait to be done! I'm so jealous :-D. But I am very proud of my Adam, he has accomplished so much!

We are the Pracks

So, I decided the other day that we should give this blog thing a try. In talking to my husband he reluctantly agreed to my request. So here we are.

My husband Adam, is quite the character to say the least. He is a composer hoping to write music for Video Games and one day write music for Hollywood. I may be biased but he is pretty stinking good too! :) He is currently working at Shoe Carnival (which is currently running a buy one get one sale!). He is my honey and keeps me happy!

I am Meghan and can be kinda silly too! I am currently a Music Education Major at USC. I am pursuing an education degree so that I can teach band. I haven't decided what age yet but I keep leaning toward middle school. I will be student teaching in the fall and I am so excited!! Right now I am looking for a job and being a house wife and mommy to our puppies.

We were married on July 17, 2009 in the Columbia Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We were very lucky to have a beautiful ring exchange in front of my parents home in Myrtle Beach which was followed by an awesome reception if I do say so myself! ;) We traveled to Gatlinburg, TN for our honeymoon where we enjoyed the beautiful mountain side and Dollywood! We have been together since 2006.

We have two puppies! Yoshi (the white one) who is our little monster but we love him. He is a corgi mix that loves to sun bathe and protect his mommy. Grace (the tan one) is our sweet girl who loves to play ball or tug. Her favorite pastime is lounging on the couch. They keep us busy but are great to come home to after a long day of work or school.
