The Coming of Christmas

Last night we finally got around to locating our Christmas decorations for the house and and put up our tree this year. With only about one week to go before Christmas, we were kind of cutting it close. I remember growing up, my grandparents would bring out their Christmas tree and decorations the day after Thanksgiving. Needless to say, that tradition wasn’t passed down to us. Zeke enjoyed “helping” us decorate and only one ornament was destroyed. One funny story did come out of the event: Elizabeth was taking the Christmas ornaments out for Zeke to hang on the tree and said something to the effect of “Let’s put these on the tree Zeke.” Right on cue, he picked up the whole box of glass ornaments (for future reference, never a good idea with small children) and chucked them at the tree with all of his two-year-old might. After a bit of instruction Zeke began to understand what his mother really meant. Here are a couple of photos to enjoy. Please do your best to ignore any gaping holes in our high quality, finely crafted artificial Christmas tree.

Taken only seconds before he launched the ill-fated ornament across the room, shattering it.

This blog is the newest addition to our family website. It took me a while to figure out how to get the whole thing routed through our domain, but now that it’s here I think it will be a nice addition. I’m not sure how often we’ll be posting things but if the general updates to the website are any indication, they will come about once every few months! Hopefully that won’t be the case though.
