Christmas Time in Texas

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with John's family in Lufkin and finished it off with my family on Saturday. I like to get a jump on things and love decorating for Christmas right after Thanksgiving. We decided to take the pictures early for Christmas because McKinlea will be having eye surgery and we did not want to have to worry about her eyes in the pictures. Plus, I can get the Christmas cards out early. We went to JcPenny this year because they were having a great deal on photos during November. We even splurged and got cards made. We stopped by my parents house on our way home to take some pictures so that I could have some without having to buy them. We actually got some good ones. I will be posting more pictures of Thanksgiving soon, but wanted to get these Christmas pics out.

Fall 2012

Fall and Winter are my two favorite times of year. I love the smells, the family time, and especially the food :)  Our fall started with our annual visit to the pumpkin patch at church. Then there was Halloween. The girls love the getting candy and dressing up part, but are not to sure about the scary part of Halloween. So, we try to go out early and be home before it gets to crazy. McKinlea was a Hot Pink Happy Witch and Kennedy was a Sweetheart Bat. We are looking forward to spending next week with family and remembering all we have to be thankful for. School 2012

School started this year will little change, except that Kennedy started her last year Little People's School. McKinlea started 1st grade and loves the fact that she is literally across the hall from me (the library). Her teacher is one of my best friends, so this helps too. I get to see her numerous time during the day. We drive together 30 min every morning and afternoon, which allows us lots of talking time. I can't wait till next year when I will have both girls with me. That should make for some very interesting conversations. The girls are both still in dance and McKinlea started taking Jazz this year. She loves it! Kennedy got to join the Musical Monday Funday choir at church. Oh, and McKinlea started piano lessons. Yes, this makes for busy weeks, but the girls love it and I love getting to expose them everything. We have not started the sports avenue yet, but might try that in the Spring.
