On January 11 Gracie turned six years old! I'm sure I'll be saying this every year from now until forever, but I can't believe that she's six. I thought five was a big deal, but moving to an age where it takes two hands to show how old you are seems like an even bigger deal. And an even bigger deal is that she loves to show you that she's six by showing you 5 & 1 or 4 & 2 or 3 & 3. Gracie has developed a love for math already this year in school. She loves all the math games they play and has really expressed an interest in doing math at home. A little over a month ago when we starting planning her birthday she told me she wanted a math party. I was a little nervous, because I had never heard of a math party and wasn't really sure where to get started in planning. Thanks to google and pinterest (and a game from preschool) we came up with some fun ideas for the party. Gracie and her friends had a great time at the party. I was so thankful for nice weather on her party day. It was chilly, but nothing compared to the snow and ice we had this time last year. We finally moved our playset from our Homewood house and the girls were able to play outside for awhile also. Here are some pictures from Graic'e actually birthday and her party.
M&Ms for a graph (this was the favorite of the party)
Stringing beads for necklaces
Working on the graph
I made this shirt for her party. She loved it!
My friend Caroline made matching outfits for our girls. They loved that they matched!
I hung balloons during the night in Gracie's room for her birthday.
Jason got to have lunch at school with her on her birthday.
Cupcakes for the party.
