Halloween

This year Boston was a firefighter for Halloween, thanks to a costume my mom picked up last year on clearance :-). Because it still so hot, he only got to dress up a few times, but he loved it! To celebrate Halloween, we first hit up a trunk-or-treat and chili cook off with our ward. Boston was a little shy, but still came home with a bucket full of candy. Which he then wanted to open every piece of. Lucky for all of us, his pumpkin bucket got tired and "disappeared" at bed time.
This is the only picture I got that wasn't totally blurry, if he is awake, he is on the move.
On Halloween night our friends were running a little train around their neighborhood, so we headed over. I lost track of how many times Boston rode the train, he would shout "choo-choo" and "all aboard" all around the neighborhood. It was super cute! Between rides, we trick-or-treated up and down the street, then headed home. After a short sugar rush, our worn out little firefighter went to bed happy and full of candy :-).

Choo-choo!
Boston's "say cheese" face is a bit questionable these days.
This is the "cheese" face I got when I tried to take a picture before we left the house.

Random October Pictures

Here is a look at some of the other fun we had in October...
Boston is so tender hearted. We were watching a Disney movie about a square pumpkin, who the other pumpkins were  making fun of. Boston kept saying "square pumpkin," and was so sad, that I finally shut the show off!

Boston ditched his clothes one night, then told me he was cold. I told him to go find his clothes, instead this hat is what he came back with. He is so silly!

We were out running errands one night and decided to stop at Jason's Deli for dinner. They have little muffins ("nuffins") and free ice cream- two of Boston's favorite things. I sure love random date nights with these cute boys!

Riley found Boston a Dodgers hat on sale at Target. I'm not sure which one of them was more excited.

"Peek-a-boo mommy," silly fun at the park.

Boston is sick of waiting for baby sister to come play, and has decided my huge belly is a great place to drive/park his cars.

Our friends let Boston borrow this scooter for a few days, and Boston loved it! He calls it "Green Cameron's Black Scooter." When we got home with it, he rode around the house saying "I tell dem thank you berry much." It then got even better when Riley took him to get a helmet. Along with riding it all over the house, he rode the scooter for almost 3 hours straight at the park, even standing on it to eat lunch!

If one hat is good, three must be even better!

Boston at a cute pizza party play date.

This was the highlight of the play date for me- I finally got Boston to touch paint! He usually freaks out as soon as the paint gets on even one finger!

Boston found this zebra at Babies R Us, and of course the first thing out of his mouth was "I ride it."

Boston has turned into quite the little chatter box. We went to Riley's parents for Conference weekend, and he seriously talked the entire way to St. George. Stoping only to make this noise for a few minutes.

Silly Talk

Along with pictures, I’ve decided I need to get better about documenting some of the silly things Boston says.  Here are the things I have remembered to write down in the last few weeks.

“Mommy doing here?”- I get asked this about a million times a day.

“Daddy at work, make it Boson monies” –Also said about a million times a day, sometimes when we talk about daddy, sometimes totally out of the blue.

“Mommy, thanks babe” –During dinner most nights

“Want it, baby sisser come Boson’s house”- Out of nowhere while we were on a walk the other night.

“Oh gosh, we will probably see friends!” –Said with a silly giggle while we were getting ready to go to a ward party.

I let Boston pick out a pumpkin bucket while we were at the grocery store and told him we would put candy in it on Halloween. For the rest of our shopping trip he shouted over and over “Candy air (where) are youuu.”

Conversation Boston had with riley in the car:
R: Is this daddy’s car or Boston’s car?
B: Boson’s car
R: Is it mommy’s car or Boston’s car?
B: Mommy’s car
R: Is it mommy’s car or daddy’s car?
B: Daddy’s car at home in Boson shoe garage! –- Every garage is a shoe garage, and every park is Mickey park, he might be a little obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

We also hunt for green dinosaurs whenever we are in the car “Green dinosaur air are youuu?” If we don’t find one, I’m usually told “Green dinosaur hide it in a tree”.

Fall Fun

We don't get beautiful fall foliage or cool weather, but it usually isn't 100 degrees by the time October rolls around in Vegas. So, there are lots of fun fall things to do. There are quite a few pop-up pumpkin patches around here, we were able to check one out with some of Boston's favorite friends :-).
There was music at the pumpkin patch, which automatically turns things into a dance party when Boston is around.

Boston and Riley were also super cute!

The fall fun continued with a trip to Gilcrease Orchard, with more friends. Boston loved looking at all of the pumpkins and tried to pick several of them up, but they were "too heaby."We were outside and having fun all morning, but I think his favorite part was the drive to and from the orchard. It is on the other side of town, so we rode over with our friends. Boston was so excited to get in the car with them, and now asks me anytime we get ready to go anywhere if we can go in "Green Cameron's car." Boston and I are both super lucky that he has such cute friends!
We also had a chance to go to the Mountain's Edge Fall Festival... you guessed it, with some cute friends (Boston doesn't usually care if Riley and I are around, add some friends and he is down for anything). Boston rode a carnival ride and a Halloween firetruck, even got to practice some trick-or-treating. The biggest hit of the festival was his new pumpkin. He was super excited to pick it out, then push it around in his stroller.

Getting Ready for Baby Girl

Riley and I are planners. As soon as we found out I was pregnant, we started buying diapers and getting ready for a new baby. Now nine months later, the important stuff is pretty much taken care of. Which means, it is time for some fun baby girl projects (I have probably used my sewing machine more in the last two weeks, than I have in the last ten years).
I got this material to make a blanket for my niece, who is now 8. Better late than never... right?
I think  it turned out pretty cute.
I made this hair bow holder out of a $1 yard sale picture frame, that started out so ugly Riley didn't even want me to bring it into the house :-). I'm pretty proud of my work!

Sometimes my inner cheapskate leads to cute things. After looking in several places for a crib skirt, that was cute and less than $50, I turned to Pinterest. In what was probably my quickest craft project ever, I found some patterns Friday night, got the fabric on Saturday, and Sewed it on Sunday. Not too bad for 12 bucks!
38 weeks!
Boston is also ready for baby sister. He asks me almost every day "Baby sister come play Boson house?" or "Baby sister come play soon?" He was really excited after we finally installed the infant seat in the car, he kept saying "Baby sister purple carseat in Boson's car" and "Baby sister ride in Boson's car".

Boston's Birthday!

I can't believe this handsome little guy is already two! He is so silly, so full of energy, and so happy. He keeps us entertained, on our toes and totally in love with him every day. I'm so lucky to be his mom! A few stats: he weighs 28 pounds, is 34 inches tall, and talks non-stop- all day, except when we are around other people, then he is a bit shy :-).
To celebrate his birthday, we started out with a small family party in Enterprise while we were there for conference weekend. We went for a train theme this year, because Boston is obsessed with them. He didn't care about the cake or candles, he just really, really wanted to play with the train.
The next weekend we decided to combine three of Boston's favorite things: friends, the park, and trains, for a big party. I made some cute little decorations, and attempted to decorate the cupcakes to look like train tracks. But, I only thought to take one picture of the decor, and even that was last minute- oops. Lots of Boston's friends came, and they ran and played and had some snacks. Then helped him open a bunch of really cute presents. I've decided two is the age when it gets fun to give kids presents. Before that they would be just as happy with a box, but this time around, Boston was super excited about each one. When we got home we had to take all of the new toys out of their packaging ("mommy open it, pleeeease!"), he then had a blast playing with them.
The decorations

Blowing out the candles

Boston loves backpacks, and decided this gift bag would make a great one.

Opening presents

Fun with friends
Boston's friends gave him some really cute stuff. One of the things that surprised me most, was how excited he got about a set of Jake and the Never Land Pirates bathtub toys. He spent close to a half an hour driving "Jake's boat" around the living room singing "Jake Never Land Pirate and Meeee." We have probably only seen the show once or twice, so I was totally surprised he knew the song, but it was super cute!

September Pics

Here is a look at a few of the other things that happened this month...
We had our first bout with croup, which led to lots of sad snuggles :(.

Feeling better, but still a double ear kind of day
(Boston has always liked to hold ears when he is tired. It usually starts with his own, then moves to the ears of the person holding him as he gets more and more sleepy).

Showing me is yummy blue candy- ahhhh.

His "say cheese" face after getting yogurt all over.

Just going for a drive :-)

We went to a Disney themed birthday party.
We borrowed this cowboy shirt from a friend, and Boston was crazy excited to wear it.

Boston loves to "hide"...
Even if he doesn't always fit :).

Boston found a nice little hat at grandma's house.

Checking in on baby sister. We are so excited to meet her!
