Kids Say the Darndest Things
Today, during sacrament meeting, Ezra was looking through a book of animals. He pointed to a picture of a fox and asked, "wazat?" After I told him what the animal was he repeated, very loudly, "fock."
I felt the need to say just as loudly, "yes, that's a foxxxx."
How embarrassing! Please tell this has happened to someone else.

Twilight Madness!
So how many of you have seen Twilight yet?
Corey and I are going to see the movie next week and I'm pretty dang excited. In celebration, I want to post some pictures from my new hometown of Forks.
Like the books portray, it rains a lot here. This pregnant picture of me shows the 5' (yes, feet) that had fallen so far. The average annual rainfall is 120", or 10'.
This has been dubbed "the Cullen's house." (It's really a bed & breakfast)

Audrey's Blessing Day
Two weeks ago, Grandma and Grandpa Peterson visited us and on Sunday, Audrey was blessed at church. She looked so beautiful in the blessing gown Great Grandma Rawlins (Kathy's mother) made. I am very thankful that my husband was able to give her a name and a blessing. A very special day for our family!
Before Corey's parents visited us, my parents came for a quick visit. We really appreciated having our parents here. I got some naps and both Kathy and Joyce took such good care of us, cooking meals, doing laundry, and giving Ezra lots of attention. We even got to do a few fun things while they were here.

buds, revised
Corey says: Ezra loves being a big brother and help his parents take care of little sister. He thinks it's great to hold Audrey and help change her diapers. She likes Ezra too.
Sarah says: Ezra has adjusted better than I expected. He is a pretty good helper (handing me a diaper or pacifier) and is gentle for the most part (he likes kissing her on the head) but I can tell when he's not so excited to have a little sister. We drove to Port Angeles earlier this week and Audrey was crying. Ezra looked at her and said, "Audrey, no crying." This wasn't said in a comforting voice, but rather matter-of-factly. Other things Ezra has said lately: "Oh, I see." (after we explained something to him.) "Hey, kid." (directed toward another child he saw at Costco.) followed, inevitably by "what'reyadoin'?" "Hey, kid, what'reyadoin'?"Saturday, November 15, 2008
Ezra Turns 2
It's been a busy three weeks since Audrey was born so it's time to catch up! Ezra turned 2 on Oct. 26th. At first I felt bad that we didn't plan much for his birthday, but I think he had a great time. Best of all, G-ma and G-pa Haines arrived just in time for the party!
Corey baked and decorated the truck cake- isn't he amazing?
Ezra's special present from Mom & Dad was a tricycle, his first set of wheels.

big goldfish
Okay, I'm still playing on the computer. We pulled this fish up dead out of the water. It's a yellow eye rockfish and you aren't allowed to keep them as they are a slow growing fish and the bios don't want people targeting then. The problem is that if they get caught they are pretty much dead. This one they figured to be about 100 yrs old. The islands in the background is Tatoosh Island and surrounding rocks. You can kinda see some sea lions on one of the rocks behind me. This was taken back when I was first here and I had just gotten the stiches out of my trigger finger so I couldn't wear my uniform.
more by Corey
Well, I suppose I should write more seeing how there has not been any new entries. Here are a few more pictures. Audrey Christine is doing great. She was up to 9 lbs even at her one week checkup. You can see how cute she is. Mom and baby are doing just fine.
I guess I'm going to have to go back to work here before too long. It's fun just to be home and play with my kids and hang out with my wife. I do need to get back before I forget everything I've been learning at this new job. I'm in my testing phase of the training now where they just have you do your thing and then at the end of the day they tell you what you did wrong. I have two weeks of this and then, if I don't mess up too bad on anything, I'll finally be a real officer. I'll still be on probation until next summer but I'll no longer be a student officer and I can work by myself.
