Moscow here we come!!!!!!!!!

Scholes' goal was just brilliant. Just for how long since did this gingerman last score a spectacular volley like that? Top right hand corner and a Valdes couldn't save it!

See you in Moscow, Chelsea/Liverpool. May the better team wins and meet the Champions of the Champions League '99.

We will ROCK YOU!

It was the last and final day of the Musical of The Queen's Concert of We Will Rock You. Tickets were going at $50 for students and so.... I went to catch it with A to the Ndrew, Peng Kee, Samantha, Ethel and her boyfriend. I have to admit that it is my first time going to the esplanade to watch a musical or concert. Anyway, the show was good, 10/10, though I don't exactly know most of the lyrics of the past greatest hits (performed in the musical) and the main character, Galilleo, acted by Mic something something of the INXS Rock band. But it was really awesome, the whole thing was just plain awesome. It's good that they changed some part of the script to relate with the main Singaporean based audience. The 'live' band that was on top of the whole stage was unveiled at the end of the musical and that was the best thing ever, what a great band.

We all know that no photography or video-taking is allowed in such theatres but everyone was rocking away, jumping up and down in their seats so I just snapped a couple anyway!
That was near the ending of the musical and yes, the ending was also just great great great, when they come together to do the Bohemian Rhapsody and the We are the Champions. If I could watch it again, I would! Maybe for now I'll wait for the DVD...and now I'm lovin' the songs from the musical!

Also, yay for USA winning 3-2 against the Matildas in their international friendly with Carli Lloyd hitting the winner!

We will rock you,
Marj

Stuck

Everytime when I listen to a particular song, I will sing it and then listen to it time and again. Right now, what is resounding in my head is Chris Brown's collaboration with Jordin Sparks' entitled No Air. It's been awhile since I keep up with the radio songs, the top 10 charts, rick dee's top 40, etc. I feel so distant from the music trend! But right now, I just dig country music because that's the kind of music I now love, no longer those rock music like Click Five or what nots. Country music just keeps me relax.

Today, we the temp staff were talking about what routines, just anywhere. Andrew started by talking about his routines back when he was in ACS (B), his swimming training in the morn, followed by class, then lunch then class then train then sleep then it's a copy and paste again the following day. Then after that it transited into the topic of what songs do we listen to for pre-game/competition routine and when it came to me, I said I just listen to my favorite songs. Tho the songs do not contain anything really motivating like "you're the best/I'm taking you higher and higher.... (bardot)" but it keeps me going. That's the only reason I can give because I love listening to my favorite kind of music, who doesn't? Well, everyone has their own kind of pre-game routine or superstition...

Anyway it's time to hit the sack so goodnight.

Off to bed,
Marj

Self-reflection

It's always the case of telling people not to do it and there you are, doing the same thing. Like the saying goes - "it's easier said than done", especially when it comes to not placing your temper or anger under control. You just explode like a balloon filled with maximum amount of helium that it just bursts.

I always have this problem. There are times though, that I do keep it under control by just walking away and that is what I do sometimes. I just get frustrated and I just walk off, without speaking a word. Afterwards, I would just sit, stop and stare into blank space. If I can, I'll just think about it, think about what went wrong and how I could have improve the situation. It's times when I feel that I can't perform, when I feel that I've not reached my best yet or at times when I can't seem to just listen to instructions that I get frustrated. Speaking of instructions, I really have a problem with that. It's always the case where I do not listen first and instead speak first before instructions can be finished given out. The self-advice here is to always learn to listen first but it seems that I can never change that habit and old habits doesn't die out in me. This, is very irritating.

Nevermind about receiving a personally signed photo from Carli Lloyd herself just yesterday. In short, I ended the weekday-end(if there's ever such a word..) with a bad end. It all points back to what you do and how you act. What you do and how you act, tells so much about you as a person. Your actions and your words speaks at least 1/4 of your personality/character.

Recently I came up with my own philosophy to live on which is:
Being a human, you have to be smart, to do the right thing and say the right thing at the right time.

Yes, you're right, I did not live by my philosophy, at all. Like I've said, sometimes I'm like a balloon pumped with maximum helium and I have no choice but to burst and let all the air out. Again I say, it all points back to how professional you want to be, what you do, what you say and your actions.

My consensus is that most humans need anger management.

The interview

So...I had a interview yesterday for being one of the nominees of Female Captain of the Year 2007/2008 for the upcoming Glitz Awards next month.

It was tough and as we all know, one of the questions asked was, "Do you think you deserve to win the title of Female Captain of the Year?" In fact, that was the last and final question. I will not write what I said because it's confidential and all of you shall not know it, haaha! Only one or two of you(you know who you are) know so zip it! I was in there for prolly 20 minutes I think. The atmosphere was dim, was stern and there was supposedly 6 people but Gary left half way with a urgent phone call. So there was Martha, Faz, Alex and then Sabrina and Yihui who were at the back taking notes too (I think that's what they were doing typing away at their laptop...) while listening in to responses to the questions. I did take about 10 seconds to think and then respond back to each of the question asked because...there was definitely thinking needed. Like I've said, it was quite tough. I was nervous, of course but was able to be quite calm after awhile. When you get nervous, sometimes you won't know what the heck you are talking about or blabbering on about.

I do not want to pin so much hope on winning this because I wouldn't know what the other 4 nominees have said as well in their interviews or/and what good they said about themselves. We'll just have to wait and see on that night itself.

Out.

Public ethics

It seems that the Chinese nationals here never have proper ethics, especially when it comes to talking when they are outdoors.

No matter what the content of their topic, sad or happy or angry matter, whether on telephone with a friend/relative/whoever or just talking with a friend at close distance standing or sitting, they talk at a high volume, like as if everyone around them have a hearing deficit at a measurement of 3cm. You know, when they are on public transport, they talk very loud too and they love sharing their topics and arguments with everyone and keep everyone informed on the topic. I was on the train and there was this china lady who was on the phone, talking to her older brother (she mentioned "ge ge" before each of what she's going to say next. "ge ge" means older brother in english) and I can confirm with you that at least the cabin where I sat heard whatever she said on the phone. I caught on some sleep but was distracted by her loud voice.

The next thing I knew was she occupied the seat beside me. HOW.BAD.CAN.IT.BE and she continued to argue with her brother till the train stopped for all passengers to alight.

I hope never to meet with this situation again, ever.

Decisions & Feelings

Decisions...are choices that you have to make in life. In fact, it's part of our (everyday) lives.

There are decisions that lead you to one path and decisions that lead you to another. Sometimes there are so many decisions until the point where you don't even know which one to pick best, which one to choose. Sometimes both decisions are the best of both worlds and you get stuck on having which one to pick and which one to leave out.

I have already made the decision to quit and stop club soccer because I am not exactly happy there. Being in the club is all a learning journey and experience, to watch and learn from the better players, to train alongside the national players. But which soccer player would want to be watching from the sidelines all the time? Every player will surely want to get out and play and get some minutes here and there and not get minutes sitting and watching from the sidelines. Unless you are pretty fine with it (which player will be?!).

Soccer League rules state that no one player shall play for 2 clubs/teams in the span of 1 season. So I'll just be out training then till the next one comes.

Anyway, photos from graduation will come later.
