Happy Birthday Max!

Max turned One on May 16th!  Happy Birthday!  You are a great dog!

New York City

First off, Jamie & I have the best Father/Husband ever because he is the one that made this happen for us.   Jamie and I took the Mother/Daughter dream trip and went to NYC for a long weekend.  We had a WONDERFUL time.  It was drama free, relaxed, fun, and we just really had a great time just being together without any distractions.  It was so nice to focus all my attention on my eldest since the little ones take so much on any other day (mostly because she is so mature and responsible so she doesn't need to me hovered).  So here are the highlights from our trip:

We woke up at 4:00 AM on Friday to be at the airport in plenty of time.
In the van at 4:30, ready to get this trip started!!!
Our flight wasn't until 7:45, but we were both so excited, we just woke up and left (I don't think either of us slept that night, anyways).  Jamie has only flown once when she was 2, so to her, this was the first time.  She ate up the whole experience - going thru security, riding the train, riding the moving sidewalks.  Everything was AWESOME to her.  So after splitting a coffee cake and walking as much as carrying 3 carry-ons with no wheels I could stand, we found an outlet, charged my phone and then loaded on the plane.

Jamie really loved the plane ride (and I did too - I love flying!).

It was pretty cloudy as we started to land and all of a sudden, we dropped below the clouds and Jamie saw NYC.  She knows she can't say this phrase, so she spelled it out instead because it was THAT BIG ---  "Oh my G-O-D!!:  It is pretty cool seeing NYC from the sky.

Jamie took her first Taxi ride.  I gave her the only seat belt in the cab.... yea.... welcome to taxis, kid.  I don't think she cared for that part of the trip.

Our first stop was the Marriott Marquis.  Beautiful hotel.  Our room was on the 43rd floor and overlooked the river.  *I've only been to NYC one time before, and that was 11 years ago (to the day of our trip) so we picked a hotel right in the middle of everywhere we would go since I didn't know how comfortable I would feel with just me and Jamie.  I shouldn't have worried!  We OWNED that city! haha.*

43 floors is really... really... high!

Once we were settled, we were OFF!  First stop:  Subway!

We took the subway to the American Museum of Natural History.  Aunt Deeshia let us borrow Night At The Museum and so she was excited to see it in person.
She loved seeing Rexy!

Jamie brought her camera and took pictures of almost every exhibit! She had a blast.

Gum Gum for Dumb Dumb

Then we headed back to the hotel because Jamie was wore OUT!  We didn't even make it thru the whole museum.  She was to the point where she was just doing what she could to move her feet so rest time was in order, then we headed to do more stuff.
Yea, good times explaining THIS!

Then we hit up Toys R Us.  Jamie was all "THEY HAVE A FERRIS WHEEL?!?!?!?"

Times Square

Then Bubba Gump's for dinner...

Where pure exhaustion finally hit.

DAY 2

So instead of hitting up an authentic New York bakery, we hit up Dunkin Donuts... both days. ha!  Hey, they are GOOD!!!
Cons to NYC:  Small Restaurants.  Not enough tables.
Pros to NYC:  Everything is in walking distance to your hotel.

Quick Photo Op at Fox News.

Then we headed to Radio City Music Hall to go to the Top of the Rock!

Rockefeller Center was fun.

 Our Hotel

Photo op with The Men in Blue.

Across the street was the Lego Store

And then of course it was time for CANDY!  Yay for free samples!

Then the day's main event:  Lion King on Broadway!

We had awesome seats.  And luckily a kid sat in front of Jamie so she had a great view.

After the show, we went back to casual and stopped by the Disney store and then Toys R Us again for some ice cream - dinner of champions!

Then back to Times Square before heading in for the night to explore the hotel.

DAY 3

After hitting up DD for breakfast again, we headed over to Ripley's Believe It or Not.

We had a few hours to kill before heading back to the Airport, so we went back to Toys R Us for the Ferris Wheel.

After a quick stop to a deli for a snack, we went back to the hotel to explore some more and waste time with my camera.

We took an executive car to the airport (much nicer than a taxi!).

The plane ride back was great, just on a smaller plane and very loud since we were beside the engines.

Unfortunately, Jamie got airsick upon landing so we couldn't (according to Jamie) ride the train back from concourse D.... if you haven't been to Hartsfield - it is over 1.5 miles from D to the Park n' Ride shuttles.... you remember me talking about the 3 carry-ons with no wheels???  yea.....  Hey, it was still a great trip despite the painful ending!  :-)

I am so glad that we were able to have this trip.  It was so great spending time with my sweet mini-me!

...

and yes.... we coordinated outfits the entire trip.  Jamie wanted us to dress alike and I know that won't last for long so we were "twinsies!"  :-)
