First card in ages... Sparkly Unicorn!

Hiya. Here's a card I made for a friend's birthday. I masked the unicorn, then used ink dusters to colour the background. I coloured the unicorn with a gold Wink of Stella pen and a Clear Star gelly roll pen. I used Lavinia stamps to add the flowers, and added Nuvo drops for the flower centres. I added the gelly roll pen to the word 'Magical', to give it some extra sparkle.

Oxides and Woodware Trees

Hi! I just bought a few more colours of Distress Oxides, as I am completely besotted with them! I've been making backgrounds with them, spritzing with some Glimmer Mist, then paper piecing them onto cards - much more fun than colouring! I'm not a huge fan of fussy cutting, but I love the end result. I finished them off with a glitter pen and Nuvo Drops.

Here are a few I have made with one of my favourite Woodware stamps:

Cat & Dragon

Hi! Here's a card I made with a mix of Lavinia digi stamps and clear stamps. The trees and toadstools are digis, so I layered the images, making the trees further back a lighter grey, and printed it out. I masked the moon to create the sky with ink dusters, colouring the moon in afterwards, and I used torn paper to mask the hills. Then I stamped the cat and the dragon. I had to go a bit heavy with the shadow under the cat, because I'd accidentally placed him on top of a toadstool, and you could see the dribbly fronds just underneath him - made him look like he had a leaky bottom. Nobody wants that! So hopefully I've hidden that enough with the very dark shadow under him!

A bit late, but...

Hiya! Here are 3 Mother's Day cards. At least I'm all set for next year...

I made this first one using a digi stamp from Lizzie Love. I coloured with inks and a water brush, drew the flower stems and stamped the leaves. I 3D-ed one of the flowers to give a bit of dimension, punched tiny flowers for the centres and added a gem.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

I made this next one by clear embossing the flowers, and colouring with Brushos and inks. I went a bit crazy with some Glimmer Mist over the top of it, so it is quite shiny and hard to take a photo of! I added gems to the centres of the flowers.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Little Tangles: 'Watercolour'
Crafty Calendar: 'April Showers or Spring'
Addicted to Stamps: 'Make Your Mark'

I make this last one with a stamp from Lavinia, stamping in oranges and yellows and with gold embossing. I used ink dusters to colour the background.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Dragonfly Dreams: 'Anything Goes'
Crafts Galore: 'Anything Goes'
Corrosive Challenges: 'Anything Goes'

Tea with a friend

Hi! I wanted to enter this week's Less Is More challenge, and decided to break out this new stamp! I wasn't sure how to colour it, as the image is quite cartoony, so I stamped the teapot on scrap paper and cut it out, making a stencil to mask the background, and then coloured with ink dusters. I used a floral stencil on top of the mask, to give the tea pot a design. I hope I didn't overdo it - not sure how easy it is to read the sentiment!

I am an unashamed tea addict, guzzling at least 9 or 10 mugs a day, and can't imagine life without it. I also think that a cup of tea and a chat can be a wonderful thing, and is a very important thing to be able to offer to anyone who's not having a great time with things, which is why I was attracted to this stamp when I saw it! I hope my friends know that I am definitely there for them whenever they need tea and a chat. A lot of the time there's not much you can do for someone you care about except listen (and make them a cuppa), but I think that is a very useful thing to do.

Anyway, here's my card:

70th Birthday Card

Hi! My Mum-in-law turned 70 today! She loves fairies, so I made her this card. She's not overly happy about being 70 though, so I didn't put that on the card!

I used ink dusters to create the background, masking with torn paper for the hills. The stamps are all from Lavinia. I coloured the wings and blossom with promarkers, and used Clear Star gel pen to make the wings iridescent. I added glamour dust to the wing tips, flowers and dandelions, for some extra sparkle.
