Huslyd is Norwegian for a household. This is a blog to update our friends and family on the activities of ours. This is about the growing of our sons, the adventures of our two poorly trained dogs, and the stories from the two adults in charge of this crew- Eric and Meghan.

We went trick or treating with Grandpa Barry this year. Henry was an astronaut and Charlie was a monster.

Isle of Man & England 2012
We started out our trip with an 8 hour flight, a long, never ending baby crying, pooping, and puking while we got glares flight. Once we made it to the Isle of Man the fun began!
We stayed with my Grandmother and Aunt Ann. We toured the Island and spent a lot of time hanging out at the house. A steam train station (think Thomas the tank) was across the street from the house. Henry rode "James" and "Percy" multiple times. He aslo rode on the top in the front of a double decker bus. He loved it, that is until we had to get off. Then he cried and screamed "STAY ON DOUBLE DECKER!!!!!" As the rest of the passengers laughed at us all the way out the bus and even on the sidewalk. Embarrassing!
He was so excited for the train he fell asleep once it got going:
Stopped for "coffee" at a pub by the train station (H's is hot chocolate)
The double decker bus:
And our favorite of the trip, Auntie Ann!! She had these really cool books that Henry loved reading. Both kids loved hanging out w/ her and she made our stay really nice. Which is always such a great gift when you are travelling with little ones! She even humored us by making all the best British desserts!
Some shots from our site seeing:
In England we spend a couple of days at Aunty Sally's house and our great hospitality continued!! The 'English cousins' came over to her house and we had a great day together where all the kids played. We also were introduced to Banoffee Pie (amazing) :)

7 months
We are behind on posting so before I write the post about our recent trip, here are Charlie's 7 month shots (he is now a week away from 9 months- poor 2nd baby :))
Another huge development is the mobilization of Charlie. He is crawling and pulling himself up everywhere. It is a new twist in Henry's life, now Charlie can reach his toys. Henry is now putting all of his toys as high up as he can to keep them free of Charlie's grasp!

Olympics 2012
The Olympics are on a lot in our house and Henry has enjoyed watching the sports. His favorite is Gymnastics and he spends his nights showing us his 'Olympic' moves.

July 4th 2012
We headed to the cabin again for the 4th. This summer we spent 5 days up there and Nana and Uncle Gary joined us. We had a great time as usual.
Henry was in a race on the 4th and came in 3rd! He held Dad's hand the whole way :)
Charlie had a great time-
Playing with cousin Emma:
Henry rode the jet ski for the first time. We thought he'd be a little scared so uncle Adam kept it at idle until he heard Faster! Faster! from the front.

Good Mood Dude
Charlie's usual state. Don't get me wrong- he let's you know when he wants to eat, sleep, or be held. But if he has all of his basic needs met, he is just the happiest kid. This giant smile still makes me smile every time.

Busy boys
Sorry we've been so lax on blog posts lately. I've returned to work and we are just chugging along keeping busy! Here are some of the things we've been doing:
Henry: We took H to his first baseball game for the year. We were still a little wary of going since as a baby he screamed, and as a 1 year old he got bored, but as a 2 year old: he is in love. We stayed almost the whole game, and we went to get food in the 4th inning and Henry threw a fit and was inconsolable because he thought we were leaving. By the time we left Henry was asking us to call him Joe Mauer and talk about his baseball game. It looks like we have the makings of the 3rd generation of a lifelong twins fan, and I can already picture the phone calls between father and son discussing Twins strategy (much like the current ones with Irv & Eric :)).
/>
Here he is showing us how he catches balls:
he wore the glove almost the entire time we were there)

Charlie:
He's hanging out, growing and generally a smiling baby. He will giggle if you really work at it! He is finally getting a fat roll and really increasing his appetite.
