Since we moved to California, we've tried to do as many things as we can to "experience" California, in the San Fran Bay area (especially since we don't know how long we'll be here)

We've taken the kids to the "city" or San Francisco to see Pier 39. We rode on the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit- the fancy name for their train) to get into the city, and that was part of the fun for the kids!!
We've been to the beach a few times, down by Santa Cruz and Monterrey Bay.

We went and explored one of the many state redwood forests, here in northern CA. It was a beautiful drive and we had a great time exploring in the forest. The trees were incredible.
We've taken a drive through the wine country (alas, no tastings for us). And we didn't get any pictures. But it was beautiful. We took a day and made our own bridge tour.
We drove across the 3 main bridges by San Francisco. We were able to see more of the Golden Gate Bridge than the others because there was a mountain road we could drive up and get some better views of the bridge. It was incredible and a great experience.
We've had some great excursions and are learning to like our new home here in Brentwood, CA.
