Our Camping Has Begun...Sort-of

Kurt, Andrea, Amber, Alicia, Aimee, Kelton & #5 coming in August.
Our friends, The Murdoch's.
Since they have a beautiful piece of land and a gorgeous camp trailer, they are often found camping. We, however, do not have either of the two.

Hayden caught riding Aimee's cute pink bike, tried to get off before anyone saw!
We do have the camper, but it's not what you'd call "cool", so we went to Cub River to meet THE MURDOCHS for dinner. Steaks cooked by someone else (Kurt) in the outdoors taste soooo good. And somehow, knowing I would get to leave that night made the whole evening that much more enjoyable.
Hayden, Alicia, & Aimee, & marshmallows
Hayden has 3 beautiful girls to play with and Leah has Kelton. It's hog-heaven for my kids. We're keeping an eye on Hayden and Amy (in the purple) and Leah and Kelton (I didn't get a pic). We're sure they're going to get married someday.
Uncomfortable moment for Jared.
So, Jared has this thing with his personal space, a bubble if you will, and as we got to know the Murdoch's we figured out that Kurt is a close-up kind of guy. So I told Kurt about this and put him up to hugging Jared.

Funny for the rest of us!
As you can see, a lot of squirming going on. It was hilarious. We think you're great Murdoch's! Thanks for all the good times and great food!

Yay! We're official!

Thanks to my brother-in-law Jeremy, we now have a blog. I apologize to all who are expecting a perfect, elegant, & eloquent blog, but this is mainly for the purpose of journaling the events and happenings of our little family.

What's a better place to start than Leah's first BIG dance recital.

On May 1, Leah danced with Cece's Extravadance Co. in their final performance. She was so sweet and cute. Of course I cried, not only because it was my baby girl up there, but also because my good friend Cece will be moving away this summer. I'm very sad about that. She has been a wonderful friend and I'll miss her very much.

Because I have two good friends who teach dance, Leah was able to take two dance classes. Her other recital with Sue's Dance Company was on May 17. She was a mermaid and danced to "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid and was a car from the movie "CARS". So cute!!!

It was a night I'll never forget!

Leah's little preschool is wrapping up. Her "spring program" is on May 29. We're looking forward to it. It's been a fun and busy school year for Leah and mommy's been there for most of the activities and extras. I think we're ready for a little break though.

Hayden is graduating from Kindergarten on May 28. He has done so well this year and has progressed leaps and bounds. We are so glad we decided keep him back in preschool. His teacher has non-stop praise for his efforts and he hears it and wants to do well. A far cry from his preschool years. He didn't want to go, or play with the kids or even look at the I SEE SAM books. He could've cared less. But now he enjoys school and I hope that continues throughout his grade school years. ( I'm not counting my chickens yet!!!)

We're planning Hayden and Leah's birthday celebration for the 5th of June. Leah's 4th birthday is on June 2 and Hayden's 7th birthday is on June 3. We're having some friends and family over for a backyard BBQ/water party. It'll be fun. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I can't believe my babies are this big, and it's just going to go faster and faster. It's all happening too fast! I love being their mom and enjoy being with them each day. I find when I'm subbing at the schools, I have to put them in the back of my mind or I feel like I'm going to have a panic attack. It feels like we've been apart for a week. They also have a little separation anxiety when we're apart. Don't worry, I'm sure that will end in the coming years. I'm just so grateful to be home with them!

So, with the school year ending and plenty of time coming our way, we hope to swim alot, play in the sand on the beach, go biking & hiking, spend time with our friends, watch plenty of movies and I'm sure if Jared gets his way, we'll be camping more than half of the summer! Isn't life great!

Wishing you a happy & safe summer! Loves, ~Lindsay & Family
