Carson's 11!

Carson is now 11!  His birthday is the 29th of December.  We wanted to do something fun with his friends this year and we found a great deal for Boondocks.  We were a little nervous whether everyone would be able to come because the deal was for New Year's Eve.  But we got lucky and all his friends were able to make it.  So we had them come over in the morning.  We did presents first and then headed off to Boondocks.  We didn't get any pictures because the boys were too busy to stay still.  But they played games, and laser tag and bowling and ran all over.  We had cupcakes at the end and then headed home.  It was a wonderful and Carson had a blast with his friends.  That's what birthdays are for...to celebrate life and we're thankful for your life buddy!  Happy Birthday!

Christmas 2014

We always have a party at Grandma and Grandpa Nye's house on Christmas Eve for those that can come.  The grand kids do the Nativity and we say what we're thankful for that year as we hang our ornaments on the little tree and then we get our annual Christmas PJs.  We were lucky this year because Jeff and Holly and their family were able to be here from Washington.  What a great group of kids!

Look at Porter in this picture!  What a cute (funny) kid!

Here is our annual picture of the tree on Christmas Eve.  I love our tree all lit up!

Gifts from Santa!

Austin got a Star Wars Inquisitor light saber and costume

Carson got some type of fighting robots

Kaylee got a Nerf Crossbow

Shelby got a Paris comforter

Again, I got boots.  Santa must know that I like shoes/boots!

Curt got a floor jack for the cars.

Look at that face!

This is Kaylee!  This is what she REALLY wanted, a purple blow-up morph suit.  Who knew that they REALLY DO MAKE THOSE?  We were shocked when we found one.  She wanted this and Dance Party to do on the Wii.  It was so funny when she actually was doing it!

So this year we didn't have a lot of snow...hardly any really.  But with all the presents that he got this morning Mother Nature gave him the best present EVER (and me too for that matter)...a White Christmas!  He played out there for a really long time and had an absolute blast!

This is another favorite memory of mine from this year's Christmas...Father/Son time.  They played Mario Kart for hours and having a great time trying to beat Dad!  Sometimes they actually did beat Dad but not many!

Kaylee's DARE Graduation

December 16th is the day that Kaylee graduated from her DARE program at school.  She did a great job and we're very proud of her.  Please always remember what you learned...stay away from drugs and alcohol!  We're proud of you girlie!!!

Someone's Turning 40 (and it's not me!)

December 11th is Curt's birthday and this year he turned the big 4-0!!!  His actual birthday was kind of low-key.  He didn't want us to do a lot so we got him cheesecake because that's one of his favorites.

His friends at work took it to the next level and made it extra special for him!

Since it was such a momentous occasion we decided that we had to have a party.  We made it adults only and it was an '80s murder mystery party where everybody had to dress up.  Our friends were all game (thanks goodness!) and it was a blast!  This was the invite I made for it.

I was Paula Abdul and the hostess.  Curt was Pee-Wee Herman!

The Schramm's were Crocodile Dundee and Madonna!

The Nelson's were Mork and the Toni Basil (She sang, "Oh Mickey You're so Fine)!

The Horton's were Ozzy Osbourne (won best costume) and Punky Brewster!

The Crabtree's were Debbie Gibson and Teen Wolf (I love the eyebrows!)

The Smith's were the Karate Kid and Cindy Lauper!

We had kind of a dance contest.  They laughed more than they danced!

Here's our group pics!!!

My friend Jamie made Curt's cake.  It was so cool!  Thanks so much Jamie!  It was "totally awesome!"

We had so much fun!  It was great to celebrate with our friends who we don't get together with all that much.  It was even better because it was a celebration of the life of my best friend and the one person I can't imagine my life without!  I love you Curt!!!  Happy Birthday this year and every year to come!

My 39th Birthday!

Today's my 39th birthday.  Curt tried to make me feel better by making my candles say I was three years younger...it didn't work!  Age is just a number, right?  At least I'm not 40!!!
