Today is my birthday. We celebrated on Saturday. I got another massage. Spoiled - know. Then I met the boys at Red Robin for dinner. So today is Monday - my actual birthday. Bradley did not get the memo. It's always someone. He is sick and a cranky monster. But the other boys have been pretty good. Nate randomly came up to me today and said, "Happy Birthday Mom" and gave me a nice cuddle. This morning Luke was hoping for a "special" breakfast (they usually get oatmeal on Mondays). Finally after several times of asking, "Mom what am I having for breakfast?" I said, "Luke if I make a special breakfast, then I have to do all the work and it's my birthday." To which he replied, "I know, I want to know what I am having so I can have Daddy make it!" I laughed and told him, "Well, how sweet of you, but Daddy has to go to work, so I guess I'll just make a special breakfast, okay?" Then he said, "But Mom, it's your birthday and you never STOP!" It melted my little heart. A little appreciation goes a long way for a Mom! I told him that's what Mom's do and if kids are grateful, they like to do it! As I said before, Bradley is a crankster so I got myself a huge coffee drink (free from Starbucks on your birthday) to try to turn this day around. The lesson learned here? Just because it's free doesn't mean you should. I feel like I'm on crack!
