Neigh Neigh

Kyle and his siblings have been cleaning out their rooms at their dad's house. There was LOTS if interesting things in Kyle's room! I won't go in to much detail so not to embarrass him, but let's just say there was a pair of red/white striped Girbaud jean shorts in the back of his closet. :) Anyway we also found Carter's old rocking horse, and M and P are it's proud new owners. They call it their "Neigh Neigh" and are having the best time with it. Oh, and yes they have already discovered that unfortunately it is not a two-seater!

Merry Christmas!

Here we are at Christmas Eve service tonight. Presley lasted half way through the service in the nursery, but Marshall did great the whole time playing with trucks (surprise, surprise) in the nursery. :)

Santa

After our haircut Saturday morning, we headed over to Central Market to eat lunch and play on the playground. Another mom on the playground told us that Santa was upstairs in CM and it was free to get your picture made. Lucky for us we already had our camera with us so up we went. Presley was unsure at first, but then was okay with him. She was not very interested in sitting in his lap, and was too side tracked by all the teddy bears and toys around him. Marshall was NOT having any bit of Santa. He wouldn't even loosen his death grip on my so I could sit him in Santa's lap. I was fine having a crying-with-Santa picture. Nope, no lap for him! So Santa was very nice and stood up to take a picture with us. WRONG! He was next to Marshall so Marshall leaned his head back to move himself away. Awesome. In the end, he gave Santa a high five and blew him a kiss so I guess he liked him after all. And these pictures are out of order, sorry.

First "Real" Haircut!

This past Saturday we went to get the twins first real haircut. I chopped off Presley's mullet this summer, but alas it needed cutting again, and Marshall's hair grows in it's own style and just needed a trim. We took them to Shelton's and they did really well. Marshall went first and did great. LOVED his fireman wrap/cape thingy. Presley, on the other hand, lasted a few minutes in the chair and then needed to sit in my lap. She was NOT into her mermaid cape thingy so of course that had to come off. Eventually I had to pull out my phone to keep her occupied. Desperate times call for desperate measures!

Beauty Salon

This weekend one of my best friends, Stori, came in town from Midland. We were pledge sisters at TCU and have been best friends ever since. Her husband is one of Kyle's best friends, and she was actually the one who set Kyle and I up!

Friday night Stori and I went to eat at Lonesome Dove in the stockyards. It's one of my favorite restaurants and she has always wanted to go, so we treated ourselves. :) After dinner we thought it would be fun to relive some college memories and headed over to the White Elephant. We ended up at Billy Bobs...completely random...and let's just say that we were both moving VERY slow the next day. Mama can't hang like she used to! But it was so fun and we had a blast (as we always do).

Saturday when we were getting ready to go shopping, Presley became fascinated with Stori's curlers. So they played beauty shop and Presley actually left the rollers alone and wore them around for a while! It was so precious and she loves her Aunt Sto!

Switchin' It Up

I am/was tired of my back ground so I decided to change it up a little bit. This one is fun, festive, PINK, and very ME...so we will roll with this background for a little while. :)

This pretty much sums her up!

Drama Queen, funny, silly, loving, and beautiful. That's my Presley!

Too much cuteness!

I think I prefer the footie pajamas now even more so when they were younger. How adorable is Marshall in his dinosaurs, snuggling with his Dada? I love, love, love him (well both of them actually)!

18ish month stats

Actually these are their 18 month and 3 week stats.

Presley: 26 lbs, .5 oz (75%) 34 inches (>95%)

Marshall: 29 lbs, 1 oz (85%) 34.75 inches (>95%)

So I guess the weights from my doctor's office a couple weeks back were off. I think the tennis shoes, clothes, and fully sippys of water they drank probably skewed it just a tad. :)

As I've said before, they are so much fun right now! There is never a lack of entertainment in our house. Still talking a lot, Presley is like a sponge. In the past week, Marshall's language has really exploded. He is saying more words as opposed to just the first syllables. The phrases they say are "are you" and "see you". Other than that it's individual words. Marshall still LOVES trucks, tractors, and anything with wheels. Presley is still in to animals and books, and now is becoming more interested in puzzles (err...guess we should have brought those out of the closet sooner) and colors. Everything right now is "yay-yo" when asked it's color, but we are working on it!

They play really well, and love each other very much. Of course, we still have the occasional (at least once a day) mean act toward the other (it's usually Presley) but in general they play really well. We will even see them holding hands every so often. :) This age is so interesting to have twins because they will literally talk to each other and make perfect sense...to each other...not to anyone else!

Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving. We were largely unsuccessful at our Christmas Card picture attempts.

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we went to Midland to celebrate with all of Kyle's family. I am so lucky to have married in to such a fun, caring, and accepting family!

We headed to Midland on Tuesday. Then Thursday Kyle's mom had Thanksgiving dinner at her house and all four kids (plus spouses and kids) AND Kyle's dad and Nona were there. It was so wonderful to all be together and so thankful that it was able to happen.

Friday morning Kyle, Carter, the twins and I headed up to Lubbock to spend the day with Kyle's grandparents and cousins.

We had a full week of eating, playing, laughing, and feeling blessed to have time to spend with our family.

The twins love Aunt Nikki and Uncle David's dogs, Lola and Schultz (German Shepherd)

Their new "play house" the old rabbit pen!

Watching tv with Carter

Rocking with Kyle's grandma, Grammer

Watching tv on Mammaw's fun cushions

Inventing a new slide with our push toy as a step stool

Little Giants

This afternoon I had a doctor's appointment and I had to bring the doodlebugs with me. I prepared myself with pb&j sandwiches and other goodies to try and keep them occupied since I knew it would be a long ordeal (I love my dr but she runs behind a lot). So we "pull up" to the front desk (babies in stroller) and the super-sweet-but-not-the-sharpest-tool-in-the-shed receptionist girl says, "Oh my gosh they are HUGE!!! Why are they so big?!?!?!?" My response was, "I don't know!" Was she expecting me to tell her I feed them pizza and milkshakes? Not quite sure. Anyways, the twins were a big hit and everyone just thought they were too cute. This doctor delivered them, so most people there know me and Sarah's story. The last time they saw them was last August when I had to bring them with me and they were only like 3 months old. Um yeah, they look just a little different. :) M and P did not destroy the room, although we did leave a cracker crumb trail where ever we went.

There is a lovely scale in each room and Marshall saw me get on it. So naturally he gets on it too and it says 31 pounds!!!!!!!!!! And let me tell you, when you hold him you feel every last one of those pounds :) Little Miss then gets on and she weighs 27 pounds.

So that is the latest stats for them. The last time Presley got weighed was at their one year and she weighed 24 pounds and some change. Marshall was weighed in the middle of September and he weighed 27 pounds and some change. I guess he went through a growth spurt! Our 18 month appointment had to be pushed back till first week in December, so it will be more like 19 month stats.

Future Gymnasts?

Marshall did a somersault today! Often times he will stop and put his head down in the position like he is fixing to roll forward, but he stops and just gets back up and goes about his business. Well tonight he went all the way! He laid on the floor (thankfully carpet) and laughed for a little bit and then got up and started playing again.

Presley is extremely flexible. She is shorter than Marshall, yet can crawl up on things much better than he can. She seriously uses her leg like a third arm, and her toes like fingers to help her get up. It is quite a sight to see!

Three weeks later, his cancer awareness shirt finally arrives. Not ordering from them again!

Backyard Fun

Today we hung out in the backyard. Marshall played in the dirt and threw it on himself, awesome, and Presley had fun playing with the leaves. I bought then these buckets at the dollar store and the twins have had so much fun with them!

My new nephew!!!

My sister had her baby yesterday! He is so sweet and I can't wait to see this precious little boy in person! He is going by Isaac, but David is my dad's first name (and his dad and grandfather) and means "beloved one".

Duck Pond

This afternoon we went on an impromptu trip to the Trinity Park Duck Pond. I'd never been there before, but quickly realized we will be going back again. There are tons of ducks, fountains, trees, and picnic areas. The best part is it's free! Presley loved feeding the ducks, but Marshall was over it pretty quickly. He preferred to run down the big hill with Dada. :)
