Why do we do it?
I just spent 45 minutes convincing Leah that it was, indeed, time to take a nap. She finally fell asleep, and what is the first thing I do? Sneak into her room to check her out and in doing so, wake her up. Duh! Of course, she's started sleeping like Sid (the sadistic next-door-neighbor) from Toy Story- bent over on her knees with her bum up in the air, and I'm desperate for a picture of it. But still... naptime is sacred in our home, so we may never get to document it, for fear that the flash will wake the Sleeping Beauty (or Beast).

Leah has started crawling! It is so fun to watch her scoot across the floor- and she is quick! One second she's across the room and in the next second I'm tripping over her! It is pretty exciting, but hard to take pictures of, so I thought I'd show some pictures of her other latest achievements.
And for her latest trick, Leah has started waking up at 5:30 in the morning- bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to go. Which means by 5:30 in the evening, she looks like this!
And I feel exactly the same way! Whoever said stay-at-home moms had it easy?!
She has started pulling up on everything- it is very cute to see her standing up in her crib in the morning, waiting for Mom or Dad to come and get her, but a little scary when she tries to scale the rocking chair!
Or the bathtub... Or a dresser drawer...
She has also discovered that the doorstops make a boing! kind of sound when she pulls on them, so she is constantly in search of doors that she can hide behind to make music.
Off to find another door stop! And then she's so proud once she's found it.
Dinnertime isn't the most lady-like in our home just yet!

Fall is in the air...
I love September! Jason and I started dating 4 years ago this month, and the smells of fall and the changing leaves remind me of how much fun we had when we first started noticing each other. It is funny how quickly marriage and a baby can help you forget all of the wonderful little things that brought you together in the first place. Here are a few pictures of life before we got all responsible and settled down... at least we don't have a mortgage to worry about yet!

Fair Days
We spent Labor Day weekend in Idaho, and went to the Eastern Idaho State Fair. We got to see some beautiful (and smelly!) farm animals. Leah had no fear of any of them- here she is trying to pet this huge cow!
Checking out Grandpa's whiskers!
The whole family was together at the fair!
Leah loved playing with a 4-H balloon.
This picture is from the baby shower we threw for Heather and Kirsten this weekend. Yes- that is a lemon that Leah is munching on!
