Hyatt Lost Pines Resort - Austin, TX - Sept 2010

We took an awesome trip in September to the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort in Austin. We came on the same trip last year for the same reason, Bryan had a dental meeting. Mimi, Potsy and Pai Pai came with us to help with the kids and share in the fun times. We had beautiful weather this year (it rained the whole time last year). The kids swam and played...once they figured out how fun it was to ride in Mommy or Daddy's laps down the water slide they wanted to do it over and over and over.... :) We also had other dental friends and their families there to hang out with. We ran into my college friend, Julie and her family and got to hang out with them by the pool...unexpected and fun! We also saw and gawked at Jack Black who was walking around the resort one day...pretty cool! Bryan and I left one night for a formal dental dinner while the kids stayed with the grandparents and loved every minute of it! There were so many activities to keep us all busy...horseback riding, swimming, playing in the sand, the water slide, a lazy river, arts & crafts, movie night on the lawn and s'mores every night!! We can't wait to go back again next year!

Labor Day weekend at the lake

There aren't that many pictures from Labor Day weekend, but I wanted to share these because these first 2 crack me up!! Macy was obviously on a sugar high or something...love it!! We had a great Labor Day weekend and had several family members out to the lake for the first time, including Kristy, Chace, Uncle Butch and Aunt Pat. The weather was beautiful and we did some fireworks.

First Day of School Fall 2010

At the end of August the kids embarked on a new school year. Bryce made the transition from his Mother's Day Out program to 3 days a week at Macy's school...Carpe Diem. He was very excited to meet his new teachers Manna and Saya (Amanda and Sarah)...these were Macy's favorite teachers and she gave Bryce a pep talk about how much he would love them, too! Macy officially started Pre-K!!! She is in the oldest class now at Carpe Diem :( she started in the infant room there when she was just 10 months old and now she is in room 110 with all the Pre-K kids! I still can't believe it! She loves her new teachers, Ms Lois and Ms Judy!

Bryce's 2nd Birthday

Yes, I know it's January, but I'm so far behind. I wanted to give Bryce a separate post for his 2nd birthday party. Bryce turned 2 on August 7th, 2010 and we had a swim/petting zoo party at our house. It was so hot outside, but the pool was cool and the kids loved the animals! Bryce wouldn't ride the pony, but Macy finally did (she also had one at her 2nd birthday, but refused to ride it). I can't seem to find a picture of his cake, but we had a Thomas the Train cake since he is really into Thomas right now. Bryce got lots of cool toys...especially lots of Thomas trains, tracks, sets and a train table. It was a fun day for all!! Happy Birthday sweet Bryce-y!!

Six Flags

Nana and I took Macy to Six Flags for the first time this summer. We decided to let Bryce wait until next summer when he (and us) could enjoy it more. Macy really loved it and rode a bunch of the rides in the kiddie area. She was a little too scared to try some of the bigger rides that she was tall enough to ride. It was a very hot day, but we had a blast!

Summer Fun 2010

I'm so far behind that I just decided to make it easy and do one post for a majority of summer. We had a great summer with many trips to the lake, birthday parties, swimming, fishing, and lots of goofing around. A couple key points were that Macy caught her first fish at the lake on Father's Day with Grandad and she also shot a "hole-in-one" at putt-putt at a birthday party. We went to Hawaiian Falls and Six Flags (separate post). We celebrated Bryan's birthday and Bryce's birthday (separate post because a lot of pictures). It was a fabulous summer with lots of family, friends and sunshine. The one sad note from the summer was that my Grandad (my dad's dad) passed away on Father's Day. :(
