Growing like a weed. . .

On January 4th, Caroline turned 6 years old!

She was so excited because Grandma was coming over to take her out on a lunch date, all alone!

She got all dolled up! Fingernails painted, hair curled, pretty party clothes on!

Grandma gave her a sweet little bracelet and a pretty outfit and then off they went to the restaurant of Caroline’s choosing! She wanted “Mooyah’s” because they have sweet potato fries. Yummm!

And if THAT wasn’t enough…the birthday person gets to pick what they want to eat for dinner on their big day. I thought for sure that Caroline would pick macaroni and cheese, but she picked Mexican food instead. So, she got to go out to eat twice in one day. Lucky girl!

When we got home we sang her happy birthday and let her blow out the candles of the itty bitty cake she picked out.

Right before she went to bed I realized that I had not been in one picture with the birthday girl. So her daddy took this…

Special. . .

photo-017

The other day while I was getting my hair cut (at a new place) with the 3 girls in tow, the hairdresser kept glancing over at Caroline. Out of the blue he told me that there was something special about Caroline. He said he feels it when he looks at her…that she has a bright light around her. Umm, wow! She was just sitting there. Freaked me out a little.

A continuous flow of tears...

God help me if I did not have anxiety dropping of my babies at school this morning.
But I did it....with tears in my eyes, I did it.
Pray for our children, our schools, our towns, our country.

Which of these do you prefer?

Looking to send Caroline’s birth family in Russia an updated picture this Christmas.

They have not seen a picture of her in 2 years.

Do any of these stand out to you?

Or none. Which I am open to. Maybe I need to re-do them. She hates having photo sessions. She does a laugh/whine throughout it. Almost like a frustrated laugh.

Though she LOVES a silly random snapshot….

Lord help me!

After THREE trips to the DMV (do to missing paperwork, copies not originals (ya think they would have mentioned that important little gem on the website) and a two and a half hour wait in their glamourous waiting room)....
My boy acquired a drivers permit.

Mama skeered!!!

What have we been up to?

Well…..

She got a pair of Bob’s shoes, some clothes and lots of good books!

The only girl I know who gives herself bunny ears in photos.

Jackson went to his homecoming stag.
Which apparently was the thing to do this dance...
The girls found a baby snake out back. Of course they begged to keep it. But, um...no, I don’t do snakes. <shiver>
They told me the snake had hurt his tail and so they put a band-aid on it. Hee hee.

Savannah and I took this picture with her new Kindle Fire. :)

A late night stop at Sweet Frog Yogurt? Daddy must be out of town working.

A blue mustache means deeeelicious!!!
photo-003
Sometimes Brent’s “working” does not seem like work at all.
photo-5
Just kidding. He comes home from 3 day business trips and continues to work at home.

Do you know why Lulu is smiling?
photo-8
Because Nene and Grandad were coming to town!!!

Not to mention the vicious serial baby biter…

Oh the fun my mom and I had eating out, shopping, drinking yummy coffee and partaking in fattening desserts!!!

We decided to have an election party!
photo-18
We all dressed in red and had such high hopes.
DSC_0118
Of course early on our hopes were dashed. No sparkling cider or champagne was opened. Our country would continue down the depressing path we have been on.
DSC_0115
Even Lu was sad. hee hee.

On a happy note, my dad hung the outdoor curtains I bought from Pottery Barn! We LOVE them!
photo-16
Savannah had to be checked out from school last week after she vomited in the school bathroom. (She told me she felt bad before she left for school but I thought she was faking it….she IS my hypochondriac you know. Bad mom award coming my way.) I taught her how to play Clue and then we proceeded to play 4 or 5 games throughout the day.
photo-15
My mums are looking fantastic!
photo-6
Because Caroline and I get bored waiting for the big kids to get out of school…
photo-001
With the cooler weather arriving, I am able to bring the Lu with me on my quick errands. She LOVES it. She waits so patiently for me to come out of the store.
photo-11
The kids were soooo excited to drop off their Operation Christmas Child boxes at our church! The girls also dropped off bibles and letters for missionaries to take to orphans in Belize!
photo-17
While going through the mounds of crap stuff laying around in every nook and cranny of my house, I came across this sweet little gem!
photo-19
At my sweet little Caroline’s school Thanksgiving feast. Her teacher secretly told me she was the sweetest girl in the class. Shhhh. :)
photo-005
When I finally get all the kids off to school and come home, I like to get a good snuggle in with my Lulu.
photo-26
I know what you are thinking….it’s a darn shame that no one loves that dog. ;)
photo-20
If the kids and I get our way, we will be adding another little fur ball in 2013! Fingers crossed!
