Halloween Happenings

Our neighbor's house was super spooky! They put up the decorations the beginning of October and most days the kids would want to walk over to take a look. They were constantly changing and adding things to the decor. They also handed out candy and rubber ducks! The kids loved Halloween. Our neighborhood was so fun with so many people out trick or treating. William also had a very fun Fall Festival at his school where they got to Trunk or Treat and they had a great time!

Carved Pumpkins

We carved pumpkins tonight. Oliver call pumpkins, "Hams." It is his modified version of pumpkin. I kept lighting Oliver's candles inside his pumpkin and he kept singing "Happy, happy,happy..." (Happy Birthday) and blowing out his candles. Eliza and William were very excited about carving pumpkins until they remembered they must clean out the insides first. Lots of moaning and then laughter from those two. Ben was home which was fantastic. 

First Recital

Eliza had her first violin recital tonight.

She practiced and practiced for her performance. 

If you asked her what song she performed she would say,

"AEA stomp, AEA stomp, AAEEAEA, stomp." 

The performance was at a rest home. The residents loved the 

performers all dressed in costume. 

Maine: Popham Beach

 When I was a camp counselor years ago we went to the most beautiful beach, called Popham Beach. It was near where we stayed in Maine and so we wandered over there. It was great to go to the beach and run around. When we arrived it was cold and almost stormy. By the time we left the kids were leaping and running in the sun. It was a beautiful afternoon. Next we headed to town and had a delicious lunch where I was able to eat my favorite: a lobster roll. Ben had some fish n chips and the kids ordered breakfast- all were happy!

Maine Idyll

We had beautiful fall weather on this excursion to Maine.

Maine Idyll is special to us as we have stayed there in the past and have 

connections to the area. It did not disappoint and only left me dreaming of future

Maine trips. It was very fun to introduce the kids to the leisurly Maine Idyll stay. 

Fall Hike

Cousins!

The kids have always dreamed of having cousins come to their house! Well luckily we are closer now and we had the best visitors! This darling family drove far to see us and it was so fun to have the kids all play together and of course hang with Whit and Jake. We can't wait for the next trip.

Pumpkin Picking

I had no idea until we arrived at the garden store that William had brought a tape measure 

to measure pumpkins to find just the right one. He is a hoot. 

Lobster Boil

We had a fantastic end of summer dinner with friends. Lobster, shrimp, corn, potatoes and sausage. Also warm homemade bread. It was a fun fun night! A tradition for sure. All had a great time! Welcome Fall!

Field Trip

Indian Ladder Farm Pre K field trip.

I was able to go to William's field trip today - what a special day

at the farm. He loved it and I was so happy to go with him.
