Miss Tinkerbell Turns 3!

Hannah Jade Mejeur

THREE Years Old now!!

Wow, has life really changed in the last 3 years! Our Hannah Bear is now 3 and speaks in full blown paragraphs (or tells us short novels!) and is potty trained...she is full of energy and just a fun little girl. She loves to sing and dance, animals, playing outside, riding in her wagon, playing with her sister, watching some of her favorite shows, anything Tinkerbell related, dressing up, and most typical 3 y/o activities. Her favorite color is purple right now. She knows all her colors, the alphabet, her phone number (really Daddy's cell phone #), how to write an 'H' (for Hannah, of course), and too many other things to write down. I had intended on making this a good log of all Hannah is doing and what she enjoys doing at this stage, but I am having a hard time thinking of it all...seems strange, but I guess we get so used to it all as parents ;p

I am having a hard time keeping up with this blog (not sure if anyone reads it anymore anyways since most of my friends and family are on facebook now). I tend to keep up with facebook more than this blog...I'll give the blog another shot....we'll see...holler at me if you don't see a recent post and maybe that will motivate me to keep up with it...there is so much I could post...just no time ;p

Anyways, back to Hannah- since she is so interested in Tinkerbell, I decided that a Tinkerbell birthday party was in order for this year! And since most of her guests were boys, I thought I better incorporate them too...so we made it more of a Neverland themed party with lost boys, pirates and fairies :) I got some great ideas from the web as well as from my dear buddy, Tittle, who had a similar themed party for her 3 y/o son. She suggested this awesome inflatable pirate ship filled with balls to make a ginormous ball pit! This was a huge hit with the kids! Hannah loves bubbles, so we created our own bubble solution and poured it in an inflatable baby pool with big bubble wands from the dollar store- HUGE SUCCESS!! Hannah spent 90% of her time at her party playing in the bubbles-"I love making a mess" were her exact words :) As party favors, the boys got small foam swords and the girls got fairy wings to decorate and wear. They also got the coolest homemade soap (courtesy of a good friend who makes her own soaps); girls got fairy soap, boys got either Peter Pan or Pirate soap- way too cute!! And then there is our very special friends...Mr. James who dressed up as Peter Pan- tights and all! and "Uncle" John who dressed as Captain Hook! You have to check out the pictures- they looked spectacular and Hannah LOVED it; she is still talking about her Tinkerbell party! I created her invitation using Creative Memories software. Christi Sullivan took the photo and I used it to create this...

When I asked Hannah what her favorite part of her birthday party was, she said "all my friends come to my party and sing to me and the candles!" Too sweet :) She really had a good time and we can't wait to see the pics Christi took, but here are some from our camera, my Dad's camera, and a friend's camera. If you have some to share, please send them to us :)

Enjoy!

Emily's first bite of food...

Isn't she cute?

April 6, 2010-

Em's first bite of food- rice cereal mixed with breastmilk

Not so sure at first...

Getting another bite...
She actually ate more of it than we thought she would. We gave her more tonight and she was trying to suck the rice cereal from the spoon...thinking someone is ready to eat more solids :)

Happy Easter!

We spent Easter Sunday just the four of us...snuggling in bed together early in the morning. We love seeing the girls interact with each other- they love on each other so much...going to enjoy that while it lasts ;p We attended a wonderful worship service and went out to brunch. I was very thankful we took these pics BEFORE we left for church...

Check out more Easter pics here.

Incredible Photos by Melissa

Hi all....not sure who even reads my blog anymore...I haven't had the energy to keep up with this as much as I would like...I have so many posts that I would like to do about the girls and life in general, but not sure if or when it will ever happen....we have been super busy in the Mejeur household. We just got back from a week and half long vacation in TN and FL to visit family and many friends. It was enjoyable, but hectic. I turned the ripe ole' age of 32 while we were gone...yikes...it was fun to celebrate with my family and even got to go clothes shopping for myself, which hasn't happened in a very long time. Not only is it discouraging as I am trying to get my "body back", but it is just so much more fun to buy my girls' cute clothes. I am quite addicted to it actually ;p But, I did have fun with my mom and last Saturday I enjoyed shopping with my brothers (yes, my bros know how to shop!) :) They even convinced me to try on "skinny jeans"....I was scared...I mean really- who names jeans "skinny"?! It just screams "not made for short girls with thighs and built calves" like me...but, I was pleasantly surprised! They actually looked good on me! After spending a week in TN, we drove to Orlando to visit with Joel's brother and his family. It was our nephew, Jurrien's, 1st birthday, so Nana and Pake and Janelle and Elli were also there to celebrate. So for the first time, all 5 cousins were together...quite a hoot! Anyways...I hope to post pics from our trips soon...

BUT, until then...my dear friend Melissa sent me these photos she had taken in July of Hannah and of my preggo belly (27 weeks along with baby Emily)....they literally took my breath away...she did such a great job of capturing my sweet little Hannah. I love all of them! Enjoy the web albums!

How our girls have been sleeping lately?

Well, we knew the day would come...Miss Hannah has outgrown her long afternoon nap :( We have suspected it for a while now...she often plays during nap time and will make a royal mess of her room, having fun of course! When she does nap, she will often not fall asleep for bed time until well after 10pm...sometimes as late as midnight! Sooooo...we have decided to still give her "rest time" (mostly for Mommy and Daddy) in the afternoon, but no nap :( On those days, she is definitely ready for bed time by 8pm, sometimes earlier.
Emily is figuring out how to sleep on her own...just this past weekend, she found her left thumb, just like her big sister. Unlike Hannah though, so far it isn't the first object of comfort she goes for...she would rather have us rock her and hold her while she sleeps, but we are trying to "wean" her from that (not that we don't enjoy holding her ;p ) by putting her down in her crib to rest when she is drowsy, but still awake. She does pretty well with it at bedtime...bringing her thumb to her mouth to suck and in less than a minute, she is fast asleep :) Sometimes it takes her a little while to soothe herself at nap time, but we are working on it...
Here is a web album of pics taken last week of our girls sleeping... ;p
Enjoy!
