August

Lunch with BFF's Kara and Jake Bodell, and baby Luci. Kara is a kindred spirit if I ever had one. I miss you guys! You so need to move next door to us and be neighbor!!!
Here in Flag they have movie in the square every Friday night during the summer. It was a blast! Everyone lays out blankets and listen to the live entertainment before dark and then watch a movie on a big screen after dark. the kids LOVED it!
Eating shaved ice while enjoying the flick!

July

30 minutes out of Columbus Dash shouted with excitement, "Where almost there!". Poor child had no Idea what he was in for. 31 hours of Drive time!

Passing the time making faces at the camera while waiting two hours for the someone to come fix our tire when the car carrier blew a wheel hub.
Dash was such a trooper! He never once complained.
Dash said his tooth was a little loos and Chris jokingly said you should pull it out. So he sat there for a few minutes then finally, with blood running down his face, said I did it! He was so excited to loose his second baby tooth!

We have sunsets here like I have never seen before!

Ninja Turtles in the pool.
Very long story...but Chris didn't start work until Mid August so he had about a month and a half of vacation/family time. We were flat broke so all we could afford to do is hike. We had a lot of fun exploring our new home. These pictures were from Oak Creak Canyon.

These are from the underground lava tubes.
We learned that July is monsoon season. It was really cool. It would be sunny then all the sudden down pour! So fun to play in the rain!

Always fun to play with the fro!

June

Family pictures: We decided it was time for new family pictures. The last ones we took were before Miley was born. Kara Hagburg did our pictures. He is amazing! So happy to have such talented friends.
Camping/hiking:

We camped by the river in the Mahican National Forest.
Chris started his first fire without matches or a lighter.
Dash hiked about 4 miles all by himself

There were a bunch of amazing waterfalls every were! We really miss Ohio!
Graduation:

Chris's parents were able to come to the graduation. We were so happy they made it! It meant so much to have there support. A huge thanks to Aunt Milli and Uncle Jay for making it happen!

30,000 OSU graduates, 61 optometry graduates

All the optometry grads wore over sized glasses.

Thanks to everyone who were a support to us and helped make this happen! I am so proud of you chris! You had a goal and you stuck to it. So glad I could be apart of that chapter of your life. I loved every minute of it! You were a great student and are now an awesome optometrist

May

May 1st I ran my first half marathon. It was the capital city marathon and it was amazing. So cool to run with around 10,000 other runners. I finish in 2 hours and 4 min. averaging a 9.5 min mile. I was pretty happy with the results, considering it was my first race ever. I was so lucky to run with such a great group. They all did awesome! I would love to go back to Columbus to run next years race.

April

Chris and I were able to come to to Flagstaff, AZ for an interview with Eye Care Associates. Moreen Myer, his now boss, is the coolest person I have ever met. For the interview she took us down the Grand Canyon. We hiked to the Colorado River at the base and back to the top in about 5 1/2 hours. If you think that is Crazy fast you need to get to know Moreen. She runs the Grand Canyon, rim to rim to rim, top to bottom. It is about the same as running two back-to-back marathons in 12 hours. She is also one of the most humble generous people we know. So glad Chris works for such an awesome person.

It was also my birthday on the trip. Turned 28 on the 13th of April and had a great time in flag.

We are alive!

Okay, I know it has been way to long since my last post. It is just all to overwhelming! I am going to try to get caught up though. So be patient all will be revealed.

Miley Update

Miley has been busy since february with, well... being Miley. She is in a world of her own. She is always pretending to be something. She LOVES pretending to be a princess! She has been a huge help to me in watching baby Leah. She loves babies and cries everyday when Leah has to go home. She always has something to say! She talks and sings non-stop! She tells me everyday that I am her best friend, which of course I love.

Miley the bird sitting in her bird nest.

Miley's first hair cut! I must admit that I was a little sad to see the fro go. But she is looking better now the mullet has been destroyed.
