Ward Halloween Party 2008

Last Saturday night was our ward Halloween Party. Meg, Katie and I were witches and Peyt was a black kitty. Adam was a warlock/wizard, but instead of wearing a robe and pointy hat he chose to dress like a regular mortal to confuse those who might suspect he has magical powers.
Meg really wanted to be a 'bad witch' like from Wizard of Oz, but I convinced her to be a 'fabulous witch' instead, it worked. Meg really wanted a wart, ???, why I have no clue, so she and I have beauty marks instead. Katie wanted to be a witch too, so hence the 'witch' theme for our family this year, and of course, every witch has her own black cat.
Aren't we scary!!!

There was lots of games for the kids to participate in.
There was ring toss,

a tattoo booth, Katie got a witch and a spider tattooed on her hands. (And yes, she has black finger nails, I painted both she and Meg's nails black for the holiday)
Our adorable little kitty Peyton was helping her Uncle Andrew and Aunt Wynter at the entrance collecting candy from all the families as they arrive. Once all the candy is collected it was divided into 8 big bowls and then each went to one of the 8 classrooms to be handed out to the kids.

After everyone ate dinner and the kids had plenty of time to play the games it was time to trick or treat! The girls went to each room and got handfuls of candy.

Peyton and me. I forgot to give her whiskers.

The 'Fabulous Witches & a Black Kitty"

Peyton's costume had pink paw prints on her feet, a pink bow on her head and on her tail!
Isn't it purrrfect!!

A Day at Tom's Farm

Last Saturday we went to Tom's Farm (located in Corona, 91 & 15 Freeway) to visit the pumpkin patch. It was really hot, in the 90's, but we still had a day of fun. Adam's mom, and sisters April and Morgan joined us, along with Adam's brother Andrew and his wife Wynter and her family.

Next to the pumpkin patch were some carnival rides. The girls love them.

They both went down the big slide twice.
Next was the carousel.

Then the train. All Aboard!!
All the ladies went for a ride, Adam was content on watching the stroller in the shade.
There was this big chicken there, so I took a pic of the girls in front of it.

We had lunch at the Mexican restaurant there, and then got some candy and fudge.
The rides were $2.00 each but there was cute stores and live music next to a pond. I would definitely go back with the family (when the weather isn't so hot).

Peyton is 3 months old, and the cast is off!

Today Peyton is 3 months old!!! Time is going by too fast. She is such a happy baby, she loves to smile and laugh. She sleeps 10 hours at night and takes good naps. She is really a good baby and such a joy to our family. Her nickname is Peyt (pronounced Paint) and is adored by her two big sisters.

Today is the day Katie's cast is coming off. It's been 5 VERY LONG weeks. It's been hard but an adventure. Some of our adventures have been avoiding parks and the beach (sand can get inside her cast), no swimming or baths, and staying where it's cool (she can get heat rash under her cast if she gets to hot). Also, helping her learn to use her left hand to eat and relearning how to go potty with only 1 arm/hand was a struggle. Certain clothing and dress-up items have been hidden because she can't wear it with the cast. I have also learned that corn-on-the-cob, fajita tacos and watermelon are really hard for a 3 year old to eat when only one hand can reach her mouth. My mom, Katie, Peyton and I picked up Meg from school and headed to the Dr's this afternoon.
My mom has never seen a cast be casted or taken off (my dad was the parent who did that) so she came along to see it.

Katie was very excited to have it off, but she gave the nurse a hard time by not sitting still.

Here is a quick video of her cast being saw'd.

It's off! After the cast was removed she had it x-ray'd and her fracture was almost 100% healed. She is to wear a removable brace for the next 10 days.
Peyton slept thru the entire thing, even thru the loud noise of the cast saw. She is such a good baby.

P.S. No I didn't keep the cast, I took pics of it after it was cut off and then it was tossed in the trash. I felt that if I kept it in a box for 15 years that at age 18 Katie would look at it, roll her eyes at me and then toss it in the trash herself.

Rose Hills & cousins

My sister Michelle leaves tomorrow and she wanted to visit my dad's grave before she left. So, my mom, my brother Jeff, Michelle and her daughter Annabelle, along with Me, Katie & Peyt went to Rose Hills to see my dad today.
I brought a blanket and Katie ate goldfish. This is the first time Peyt has been here and it was very emotional for me knowing that she will never know my dad here on this earth. Meg still remembers him (she was 5 when he died), but Katie just knows him from pictures now (she was 20 months).
We sang 'Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam', one of Katie's favorites.

next we went over to my mom's parents graves, Don & Polly Peyton, which is where Peyton got her name.

Then we went to Adam's maternal grandma's grave, both Katie & Peyt's middle names are named after her. And then we headed over to Adam's paternal great-grandparents graves, his Grampy & Grammy.

Later that afternoon after Meg came home from school we did a photo shoot of the cousins.
Kaitlyn (3½), Annabelle (14½ months), Peyton (3 months) and Meghan (7)
Aren't they cute?
