Homecoming 2013

Meghan is a cheerleader!!! She tried out for the Middle School Cheer back in Sept and made the squad! She has already cheered at a bunch of Middle School games (Boys Volleyball and Girls Basketball) and gone to a few Varisty football games. Tonight's football game was Homecoming! Isn't Meg adorable in her uniform and floral halo!!!
Well, when your Homecoming is the week of Halloween you have to have a little fun with the theme!
Meg is the second girl from the right (the shortest one). She loves going on the field and cheering!
Here is the Middle School Squad!
Their squad also got to cheer during the first quarter down on the field. Meg is in the back row.
AND they got to run down to the end zone and do stunts when our team made a touchdown! The rest of the game the middle school cheerleaders sold 50/50 tickets and raffle tickets.
Our school won the game and a good friend of ours Rachel was voted Homecoming Queen!!

Here are the girls pumpkins that they painted the other night
We also made homemade pumpkin bread for the girls teachers.
Gwennie made a spider hat!
Here are the girls ready to go trick-or-treating!!!
Peyton - Cinderella
Meghan - nerd
Gwennie - pumpkin
Kaitlyn - scary witch
Adam took the girls around the neighborhood with their cousins Azlin (Merida) & Chance, Uncle Andrew & Aunt Wynter. While Grandma Cathy and mom stayed home and passed out candy.

And then there was 12...

So in 2005, I bought name frames of my two daughters and my niece. My parents were ecstatic to have three granddaughters and my mom loved the frames on her mantle. She would see the frames every day and show the girls off to anyone who visited.
So eight years later, there is now 12! Yep, 12! I have 4 daughters, Laura has 4 (3 girls, 1 boy) and Michelle has 4 (2 girls, 2 boys) for a total of 9 girls and 3 boys. I have continued this tradition of getting my mom a new name frame with each new grandchild's birth. The last two were born this year and the frames arrived yesterday so now all 12 are on my mom's mantle next to my dads picture.
 The first six, ages 12, 8, 8, 6, 5, 5
 the last six ages 4, 3, 2, 2, 5 months, 1 month
I usually will sneak into my mom's house, add the newest frame and leave without her knowing. Then when she comes home she gets a wonderful surprise on her mantle. Thankfully, she has a mantle long enough to hold 12 adorable kids!

FHE-Pumpkins!

Tonight for FHE it was ALL about pumpkins! First we made pumpkin-shaped pizzas!
Gwennie loved smearing the sauce and adding lots of cheese. She also added a few green bell peppers, then tasted one, then spit it out and removed them from her pizza and tossed them on the floor. So no bell peppers for her.
Peyton added cheese and grilled chicken to her pumpkin-shaped pizza
All four girls making their pizzas
Katie did grilled chicken and cheese. Meg did grilled chicken, cheese and bell peppers.
My pizza! I had bacon, grilled chicken, bell peppers and cheese. Adam's had the same plus mushrooms.
The girls pizzas! Top is Gwennie and Katie's, bottom is Peyton and Meg's.
Dinner Time!
After dinner....it was time to carve the pumpkins, but the girls said they didn't want to carve, so we took a vote. No one voted to carve and all four wanted to paint! So we painted our pumpkins! The girls grabbed their craft aprons, paint and paint brushes....
The older three painted while Gwennie used markers. She was really excited to use markers (which is usually a NO-NO to her) until she realized that the girls were painting with PAINT. So she cried and asked for pink paint...so her pumpkin has both markers and pink paint and Gwennie loved it.
All the pumpkins came out great, the girls loved painting them and I didn't have to deal with carving, pumpkin guts, seeds, etc. So tonight was a great night!

Ward Halloween Party 2013

Another Halloween party??? Yep, and another excuse to dress-up! Tonight Peyton is a witch...
Katie is a witch again and Gwennie is Tinkerbell again
Meg the nerd (again) helped the Young Women run the games. Meg was in charge of the coin-toss game
After dinner Peyton decorated a cookie, and yes there is a cookie under ALL that frosting and pounds of MMs
After dinner, games and desserts it was time to trick-or-treat! Gwennie was ready!
She says 'trick-or-treat" and "thank you" and then runs to the next door...she is a pro at this now.
Katie and Peyton had fun in the haunted house (a room with black lights, filled with balloons!) The girls were laughing and jumping on the balloons. The black light made some balloons glow and several elements to the costumes glow too, it was really cool. (pics below-no flash)
(Pic below-flash)
Gwennie found the cookies and had to decorate one too
Here is a pic of the McGary cousins! We are really lucky that they are in our ward. Meg is holding baby Chance-Mickey Mouse and Azlin is Rapunzel.
Meg with her 4 month old cousin Chance!
My 7qt crock pot of chili...I made chili from scratch (ground beef, onions, bell peppers, kidney beans, black beans, pinto beans, red pepper flakes, tomatoes....) My chili was a hit, almost the entire pot was gone execept a little portion. And I won an award too....
