BE MINE

I love Valentines Day. It is probably my favorite holiday. I love the simplicity of it. What other holiday can you decorate with cut out paper and call it acceptable. I love all the fluff of Christmas but I feel like if your tree is not dripping with glitz, your card is not perfectly crafted, your gifts not gorgeously coordinated and your neighbors not gifted with homemade candy with a coordinating pun- well you are falling short. I love that a paper Valentine is all you need to make someones day.
Here is how we celebrated, And LOVED it:

It was our turn to host preschool for the Valentine party. They exchanged Valentines and I taped them to our door. Bennett would sit and admire them all week. Again-just simple fun.

We did alot of baking for our friends, primary teachers and family.

Lets not forget the Chocolate!!

MOMMY!! YOU CAN'T CUDDED HER HAIR!

That is what Bennett was telling me while I was doing the snipping. He was pretty concerned and mad at me.
THE BEFORE:

THE AFTER:

THE FINISHED PRODUCT:

I realize I might be the only one who can see the difference but this was big for me. Now, what to do about that bald spot back there??

Abraham and Isaac-Revised

This week I was reading to Bennett from a book of Bible stories. When we got to the story of Abraham and Isaac it didn't take but a few sentences in to realize I did not want to explain this story to him. Saying thing like "Father killing his son", not exactly phrases that will sit too well in a 3 year old brain.

So I may or may not have revised the Bible a little bit.

For now:

Isaac went on a walk with his Daddy.

While they were on their walk they built a table out of rocks and played on it.

Later they rescued a lamb and took it home to be their pet.

Judge me if you wish.

Too big? Maybe.

I'm in love with another cover

I have found a gift shop that wants me to make these for them. I just made this one and I am having a hard time parting with it.

So maybe if I take a picture and post it, it will help in my grieving process. And because I love it so much I priced it a few dollars higher so maybe it won't sell and it will have to come back and live with me.

I'm just saying, it wouldn't be the worst thing.

This is creepy...right?

I like KSL classifieds, alot. I was browsing through the baby section today and came across "Baby Nate", weighing 5lbs. and is 19 1/2 in. long.

It is a hand sculpted baby and can be "adopted" for $250. I am not trying to be rude by publicly making fun of it....lets say I am helping to advertise so i don't sound mean. Interested???

Him?!?

I took this picture just moments after Libby was called "Him" by our waiter. I am not really sure how I could have girled her up any more.

Even funnier, when Jon saw her after I got her dressed he said, "wow, that is a bit too much pink, No?"
Obviously NOT.

Contraption

What is this contraption.

Practical! I think I should patent it.

-heard of a similar idea
-put in the order to my Dad for the frame
-a little paint, stapling and sanding
-improved the idea with some nobs.
TA-DA!

Imagine That

One of my favorite things about Bennett is his crazy imagination. These are our toys:

This is how they look 90% of the time. Not because I am such a good housekeeper, but because Bennett could care less about them. He finds the MOST RANDOM things to play with, they are usually found in the kitchen. His "toys" of choice are measuring cups, funnels and the favorite steamer. Today his favorite was this:

To me this is a babyfood grinder but to Bennett the sky is the limit. It has been:
Squid Launcher & Shrink ray (from Despicable Me)
Horn/trumpet
Megaphone
Flash light
Snow blower
Camera
Tower
Ice cream cone
Binoculars
Gun
Garage
Vacuum
Drill
Weights

....all in the matter of one afternoon....

{Bless} U

{The Blessing}
Miss Libby received her name and blessing on January 2nd. Her Dad did a great job with the overlying theme of {PEACE}, which is so perfect for her. From the moment she entered our life she has had such a calming essence about her. She is such a sweet, calm and peaceful baby and has blessed our life with all of that. Jon blessed her to be a peaceful influence to those around her and to bring peace to her family. After the blessing Jon held her up so proud. He did the same thing with Bennett and the look on his face was just the same, beaming from ear to ear. He is so proud of his kids and I can't say I blame him. I LOVE to hear the "ahhhh" from the chapel. Libby was such a good girl throughout the rest of the meeting, with no mis-haps like on Bennetts blessing day.

{The Dress}
Just a few weeks after Jon and I were married my parents went on a mission to Armenia. They were there for 9 months. While there they saw this dress. My Mom said it just reminded her of something I would love. How she knew I would have a girl, I don't know, but I am glad she did. She has held on to it for all these years (6) reserving it for her special day. My friend, who claims she is not a photographer, snapped these for me in her living room. They turned out great and I wish I could figure out how to rotate them, so I can show the real effect???
Thank you Nichole!!

{The Party}
After the blessing we headed to our house for a little brunch. I really wanted it to be a celebration of Libby. I had pictures of her framed and all over the house. I found these napkins that fit for her, perfectly.

We love our Libby and are so grateful for all the support from those who love her so much too.
