Christmas Adam

Silly me, I forgot to post our pictures from Christmas Adam...which is obviously the day before Christmas Eve.
This was the day after Hayley got diagnosed with a thousand illnesses...or maybe just 3.
We started our morning slow. Hayley was already a lot happier but still hurting. She laid on the couch most of the morning and I just waited for her every move to tell me whether we would get to go see Santa that night or not (which had been our plan before she got sick).
I finally talked her into changing clothes for the day (but she wanted to pick out the clothes) and found her sitting in the middle of the family room reading our Ensign a while later. I was hoping that meant she was feeling better and it turns out, she already was.
I am so grateful for the Priesthood.
I gave Andersen a chocolate covered pretzel after lunch not thinking about the mess that would entail. Oh well. You only live once. :)
We decided that night that seeing Santa was a go since Hayley had been doing a lot better throughout the day.
We drove out to my in laws (to meet Davey) and when we got there, I told Hayley we were going to see Santa.
No joke, this is what she did.
She wanted NOTHING to do with him and as soon as her eyes came in contact with him, she screamed and wouldnt let us walk any closer.
So I took Andersen and snapped a picture of him with Santa. :)
Even the Grinch was there! We went to this awesome house in Pecan Creek (out in Queen Creek) where the house has music coordinating with it's lights and Santa sits outside and takes free pictures with anyone. Awesome!
Then we headed back to Nana and Papa's for pizza.
Silly Hayley loves playing with the kid nativity set and she laid them all down and told me they were sleeping.
She then asked for a blanket because "they are cold"
And then said she was tired and wanted the blanket for herself. I love her imagination.

Even though Hayley wouldn't take a picture with Santa, I am glad she was feeling well enough to leave the house for a bit and make memories with our family. It ended up being a great night.

The Last Walking Post

Oh my sweet Andy man.
How did you go from such a little wrinkly babyto a cell phone talking, walking little toddler in such a short amount of time?
Sometimes I really miss those tiny baby days. But other times, I am glad that you are at the age that you are...independent and yet, still cuddly. You are perfect.
And thank you for choosing to walk. It has been almost 2 months to the day since you started taking steps---and finally, the actual walking begins! Please stop trying to run...you are a new walker, you know. You can learn to run next year, ok?

PS: I love this video of you talking. You are quite the talker for your age...I am sure you are pretty equaly with what Hayley was saying at this age but I cant quite remember. She was a fast talker too.

Merry Christmas 2010

In order to get to our in laws by 8am, we woke our kids up at 7am to open presents at our house.
Hayley wasn't very happy about being woken up but she quickly turned on her happy face when she heard that Santa had come.
I was so surprised since she had seemed so greedy with presents the night before that she brought Andersen a present and had him open his first.
Andersen got an ABC book from mom and dad.
Hayley trying to figure out how to unwrap the present I handed her.
Andersen was apparently REALLY excited about this book. :)
Everybody looking at the crayon roll that I made for Hayley.
Andersen opening the ties I made him.
Hayley loves books...especially princess ones.
Silly daddy put the bag on Andy's head.
Hayley looking at the quiet "colors" book I made her. It took a long time but I am so proud of the way it turned out.
Look at her face...she was SO excited about the baby doll Santa brought her.
She decided to name her Noelle (her middle name). I love how attached she is right now.
Andersen LOVES his stuffed snake ties I made for him. He chewed on the tongue through most of church today.
I love her sweet faces. Hayley getting ready to dump out her stocking.
Dumping it out!

Her favorite part was originally the candy cane (because she asked Santa for one) but she is completely attached to the microphone now and likes to say "I'm Hayley the science kid...science kid...science kid." just like Sid. :)
Davey was happy to open the pick up sticks game I bought for him and Hayley to enjoy together.
I also got him something in a big box......an iTunes gift card. haha! I also made him a jean banket but dont have a picture of it. That was his favorite present and I am so proud of myself for finishing it in time.
After opening our presents, it was time to head over to the Maughan's house. We definitely got spoiled this year and are so grateful for the many things they did for our family.
Andersen got a Buzz doll to go with the Woody he got for his birthday. The boys thought it would be funny to put him and Buzz in this box...he wasnt amused.
Hayley opened their new set of blocks.
Andersen got Toy Story jammies.
Hayley got homemade jammies made by Nana...but she was getting up as I was taking the picture.
And my favorite present...they bought each of our small families a wagon. I was choking back tears when my kids opened this. I have been wanting one for a long time but we just couldnt afford it or justify the need to get one.
Crazy Papa bought the kids 150 small balls and 10 bigger bouncy balls. Yeah...we are going to have to find a place for them in our house.
Brookie Cookie checking out her millions of balls.
Hayley finally got the wear her Tinkerbell dress up after opening presents. She LOVES it.
This is how Andersen reacts when the dog is inside.

My monkey boy. I have no idea what the point of this was.
Playing with the Grinch.
Hayley modeling her new dress that Nana Maughan sewed for her.
Davey was so frustrated putting it together...but we are so grateful that he humored mom and did it anyway.
Hayley and Andersen riding in their new wagon. We LOVE it!
Hayley, Andersen and second cousin, Kylyn taking a ride.
Hayley ended the day by zonking out on Aunt Ginger...she must be a miracle worker. :)

We had a wonderful Christmas and are so grateful to the many people that we got to make memories with.

Merry Christmas Eve

This has been such a fun day today.
We started out our morning laying around on the couch. Since Hayley is so sick, it's been taking her a while to get happy in the morning so we've done a lot of laying on the couch.
As you can see in the picture, she finally found the silly bone in her body and started to enjoy the morning a bit more.
Andersen enjoys the morning the second he wakes up...and he's sick too! You'd never know it by looking at him.
We had powdered donuts for breakfast. I think Andersen enjoyed them.
Then we drove to my parents house to spend the day with them.
Dallen and Hayley are the bestest of friends. They play together and get in trouble together. :)
Grandpa and Andersen sporting the ASU Santa hats.
So Dallen and Hayley got into some trouble and both had to sit in time out. We used this corner through the morning and later that day, I walked down the hall to see Andersen just sitting here smiling. I think he thinks there's something special about this corner because he is always seeing someone sitting in it. :)
After dinner, we skyped with Andrea, JP and Kai Bear since it was Christmas morning for them. Kai was doing the cutest things and was more interactive with the computer than he usually is. That was a nice Christmas present for me. :)
Then we opened the presents to and from cousins, siblings, and parents since we wont see my family tomorrow on Christmas day.
Here's Sammy opening the joke set and bingo game we bought him.
Here's Andersen opening the awesome present Dallen picked out for him (that was from Sammy, not Dallen).
Sammy put on the teeth from his joke set. Silly boy.
Hayley opening her present that Kai got for her. Strawberry Shortcake bandaids...
...a Dora movie, and a Dora whiteboard for her to write on. She LOVES it.
My dad opening one of the yummy treats in his present from us.
My mom opening part of her yummy present from us, pumpkin butter and almond butter.
Andersen playing with the cool toy he had opened earlier from Sammy.
Hayley opening her pajams from Santa's elves.
Andersen opening his pajams from the elves.
Hayley showing off her cute Tinkerbell pajamas. She wanted them on right away after she opened them. I'm glad she's happy.
HayHay showing off the princess shirt Grandma got her.Davey opening a present from my parents.
Andersen in his ADORABLE Buzz Lightyear pajamas. Santa has been waiting 2 months to give those to him! I was getting antsy.
Walking like a pro just in time for Christmas.
LOVE my boy!
The kid's set up that they will find in the morning. I absolutely LOVE being Santa Clause and setting up Christmas for my kids. I find this more fun than being a kid on Christmas morning. :)
