Santa Claus came to town!

We went to the mall to see Santa last weekend. Andrew wasn't nervous at all. He's been writing letters to Santa for weeks with messages like, "How uld are you?" and "I want a chransformer." When Santa wrote him a letter back, he was thrilled.

Liv was a little nervous and didn't smile until I asked her to for the picture. But she did talk to him for a minute and told him she wanted a light-up rubber duck from bath and body works. That was random.

Millie was scared and sat there stiff but no tears! She warmed up a little when he offered her candy.

Thanksgiving!

We spent Thanksgiving in Orem at my aunt's house with all my extended family this year. I was in charge of making some desserts so I made a pecan pie, pumpkin pie, and pumpkin bars. They were delish, and so was everything else we ate.

It can easily get cramped with that many people in one house but we all make room somehow...

After dinner, we drove to Duchesne and spent the rest of the weekend with my grandparents. My grandpa took Ben and the kids fishing one of the days. They had a ton of fun. Liv caught her first fish.

Millie followed my grandpa around all weekend. Here she is taste-testing his popcorn.

Halloween Fun

We had a pretty low-key Halloween this year. We carved pumpkins earlier in the month. Amelia learned the word, "pun-kin" after that.

A few days before Halloween, my neighbor and I threw a party for the kids. We usually go crazy but decided to keep it simple this year. We played Bingo, had a bean bag toss, bobbed for apples, played "name that bone", and had cupcakes and milk for dessert and "monster eyes" as favors.

On Halloween, we had soup in pumpkin bread bowls and went trick of treating all over our neighborhood.

Andrew, the tin man.

I tried to convince Liv to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz  but she adamantly refused and chose to be an elephant again.

Millie, my lion.

I should probably give up on trying to get a picture of all of my kids together and smiling.

Happy Halloween!

Half Marathon!!!

I ran a half marathon!! Oh yea! It's been a lifelong goal of mine to run a half marathon but I didn't think it would be possible for awhile. After we ran our first 5k in May this year, Ben and I caught the running bug and went crazy. I found a great running buddy and we started following a half marathon schedule. Five months later and we conquered our goal! I wanted to die at times but pushed along and finished in 2:28. Ben finished in 1:58 and my cousin CJ, who had only ran 5 miles straight before this, finished in 2:10.

 Ben at Mile 11.

 CJ at Mile 11.

Corrye and I at Mile 11 with our cheering squad ahead of us.

CJ did some major showing off by rough housing with the kids afterwards. The rest of us could barely walk... We munched on goodies and admired our medals...

Our cheerleaders....

After the race, Ben and I went to stay at The Inn on The Hill in SLC. It was our 7th year anniversary so it was awesome to get away for awhile. We even got a free upgrade to a room with a balcony and an amazing view. It was perfect.

Ice packs were my best friend.
