Christmas Adventures!

We did a lot of fun things while we were in Duchesne visiting family but one of the highlights of our visit was when my uncle took us for a ride in his plane! I was scared crazy before we left and almost backed out but I took some deep breaths through the nose and hopped in. I'm so happy I did. What awesome fun it was!

Gorgeous view of the Uintah Mountains.

You could see for miles!

Don't judge my lovely hair... I was still in my pajamas when we left.

Flying right over the mountains. It was so beautiful. We saw lots of animal tracks down in the snow.

This was near Tabiona.

View of Starvation Reservoir.

That little tiny bridge is Highway 40, the road to get back to Logan. My uncle told us it takes about an hour to fly from Duchesne to Logan. I was definitely not looking forward to a 3 1/2 hour drive after that!

Little Old Duchesne. It's neat to see the rivers winding around town. It was such a fun ride. I'm so happy we got the chance to go.

After the plane ride, all my cousins got together to go shooting.

Here is Andrew about to shoot... notice what happens as he goes to pull the trigger. The line of boys on either side of him moved a bit. :)

Well that wraps up our Christmas adventures of 2011. We're looking forward to 2012 and the fun it will bring!

Christmas 2011

Well we survived another Christmas. :) I'm sad it's over, yet happy at the same time. I love Christmas but I get antsy and restless with the craziness of it all. This year we had Christmas with my family. We stayed at my grandma's house and had a ton of fun with all my extended family. Get ready for picture overload.

I decided I wanted to try and continue my tradition of making a gingerbread house with the kids every year. They loved decorating it and the house was a bazillion times easier than the train I attempted last year. I want to buy more than one so they can each have their own next year though.

My grandpa and Millie are best of friends. I love all these cute pictures of them playing. On Christmas Eve, I got to spend a lot of time with my grandpa delivering gifts for Sub-4-Santa families and playing "elf" for all his Santa pit stops. I had such a great time. I don't know what I would do without my family. They are truly what make the season special.

After all our deliveries, we got together for a delicious prime rib dinner and the annual Park family program.

Right before bed, we had our own special visit from Santa! The kids were so excited. Andrew was running around squealing with delight.

Christmas morning, we awoke bright and EARLY. (My camera was not cooperating with the low light so I hope y'all enjoy the bright and flattering flash.) Liv rarely shows emotion when it's expected... while she might look unhappy about her littlest pet shop house, I know that inside she's thrilled. :)

Andrew giving Ben the calendar he made in preschool. He was pretty proud and Ben loved it.

Millie's First Christmas... despite an array of fun toys, Ben's comb and wrapping paper were her favorite toys of the day.

Proof

I have photographic proof that Andrew and Liv actually like each other... despite the battles that ensue daily!

Here are some of my favorite Christmas ornaments.

Our family ornament. Ben and I spent hours stringing popcorn for our tree. It looks pretty cute but it's a huge temptation for Millie!

My grandpa gave me this ornament when I was 8. He has played Santa Claus for the town every year since I can remember and I used to go along with him as his elf, "Twinkle Star." It's one of my most cherished Christmas memories. Love this ornament.

The kids made these cute snowmen at the dentist waiting room.

Christmas Program

Andrew's preschool had a Christmas program. He did such a good job. His teacher helped all the kids make calendars for their parents using their hand prints in paint. I almost started crying because I loved it so much. Thankfully, I kept it together.... hate to embarrass my child in front of his friends! ;) We wrapped it back up and gave it to Ben for Christmas.

The boy standing to the right of Andrew doesn't speak any English. It also happens to be one of his best friends at preschool. Funny how kids don't necessarily have to speak the same language to be friends.
