Quentin birthday party

We cannot believe that summer is coming to an end!  We joined Quentin for his birthday party today and Lyla got in the water and enjoyed it!  She has been a bit fickle when it comes to swimming.

I held her for a bit while she warmed up and she crawled right back to Doug for a second dip!

Quentin's grandma had some kittens they were trying to sell (and convince us…not going to happen!) and Sydney was so cute holding one of them.

Drive through

I had a fun idea today and we snagged a diaper box and made a "drive through" for lunch.  They placed their order 'through' the box and then I called them (in one of my favorite accents--which Sydney hates) to tell them their order was ready.  They LOVED it.

Lyla has shown in real interest in salty foods lately.  When I salted her broccoli at dinner and left the bottle near her, I didn't realize she would grab it and suck on the cap.  I was grateful it was empty.

Ethan and Sydney went to a birthday party Saturday.  It was quite the event with a Frozen party and we told Ethan he wouldn't be able to wear the dress.  They ended up being a half hour late because Ethan was so devastated.  We ended up making an excellent Kristoff costume on the fly (I cut up one of my brown shirts from our honeymoon) and he was pleased.  It was quite the emotional morning!

Church snuggle time

I am getting ready to wean Lyla, but I have really enjoyed our snuggle time.  I take her into the mother's lounge at church before Sacrament Meeting ends every week to feed her and she was so sweet today, I ended up taking a few photos.

Love this girl!

Beckstrand Reunion: Down time

Between events, we laughed and had a great time.  I had a waxing party and ripped hair off of my sisters (and nieces) faces.  Michelle took a selfie while I was waxing.

We Facetimed with Christine, who couldn't join us.  She asked me to make a funny face that she heard I was making.

Waxing party late at night.

Doug played Risk with the single boys (and teenagers) until 3 am.  I was a bit grumpy when he wanted to sleep in the next morning…I won't lie.

Beckstrand Reunion: Scavenger Hunt

Tiffany and I were in charge of a scavenger hunt on Saturday and ended doing a photo hunt.  It was really fun.  We split up in different cars and had to take photos of different things or places.

We had to eat In and Out Fries.

We made the word Real with our bodies in front of the Rio Tinto Stadium (where Real plays).

Found the climbing gym.

Found the Ferris Wheel at Scheels.

Kaden helped Avery try on shoes at the Reebok outlet.

We found the temple and made a pyramid.  I held up Lyla in the back.

Beckstrand Reunion: Seven Peaks

I love my family.  I can't believe how we're all growing up with kids of our own!  We had a fun day today at our Beckstrand Reunion at the water park.

Syd and Ethan love the water and playing with cousins!

Natalie, Matt, Kylee, and Lyla joined me for a selfie.

It felt like I was a kid again a little.

A thunderstorm rolled in and we hung out under a cabana chatting for a bit.

Ethan was worn out and fell asleep--in style!

Summer fun

Went to the Museum of Natural Curiosity today with the kids for $2 Tuesday and had an amazing time.

Walking home from church--love that we can do that.  They are very good about waiting and watching for cars.

We took them for an ice cream cone at Arctic Circle and they were in heaven!

Ethan gave himself a hickie on his arm and then asked me what happened.  He told me he had been sucking on it.  I laughed so hard.

We've taken many bike rides to the park down the hill--it's a steep hill so from now on, we will wear helmets!

Lyla is getting so big!  She is such a happy baby, unless other people are around and she thinks they want to hold her.  Then she's a G.R.U.M.P.
