Hand, Foot, and Mouth--OH MY!!

This is one of the worst toddler illnesses I've ever seen.  Quarantine for 2 weeks and make sure all symptoms and blisters are healed and gone.  That is SO long!!

Syd had it first and was on the mend when it hit Ethan hard.  He put himself down for  snap and Sydney missed him a lot!  I found her up reading books to him while he was OUT and sleeping hard.

We had several dance parties during our long time at home with no friends and no going out.

Sydney's feet were so sore for a few days that she crawled around the house.  So sad.  She is a tough girl, so when we cried, I knew it was really hurting.  Hard to watch.

Ethan showed off his sores as well.

One day we made Barbie masks--we laughed for a long time!  We needed some entertainment!!

We did puzzles and played games.

Lyla got into mischief with the toilet paper and this was Sydney trying to fix it.  Adorable.

I did push-ups with Ethan on my back at his request.  We were SO bored!!!

Family Time!

Doug took his licensing exam and no celebration was big enough!  When he came home we had carrot cake and a picnic for dinner and the next day we went to Seven Peaks.

Dress up!

Every once in a while I remember take photos of the everyday activities.  Ethan spends most days dressed up imagining he's a princess--with long flowing hair and beautiful shoes.  He has started to sing songs about how radiant he is as a princess.  Love this kid!

Summit day 3

Saturday was the last day of Summit.  I was so excited for the morning Super Workout where all the main trainers make an appearance and do about 10-15 minute workout adding up to about 70 minutes of working out in a gigantic parking lot in Vegas.  My sister texted me and told me to get down to the workout because it was already filling up an hour before it was supposed to start!

Other coaches on Team Inspire.

View of the parking lot during the Super Workout from a nearby hotel.  Massive.

That night we watched the closing session where they awarded a man and woman $100,000 for having fantastic results.  It was amazing to hear their stories.  It was like attending a live session of the Biggest Loser…except many of these people had to motivate themselves to 'press play' on their fitness program to achieve their own results without the aid of a personal trainer in the room with them.  I also shed a few tears at this meeting.  So amazing!  Can't wait until next year in Nashville!

Summit day 2

Day two began BRIGHT and early with an Insanity workout with Shaun T.  I have only done one or two Insanity workouts.  It was even harder live where he could SEE you.  He walked out in the crowd over and over and told people to "push harder" and work harder.  A little intimidating for a perfectionist.  :-)

He is incredibly motivating live.  He shared a message at the end of the workout about 'ending the trend of obesity' in the county and helping others.  It was extraordinary.

I shared a room with two sisters, Allie and Lacey.  They are super fun.  I laughed when I learned that all 3 of our husbands are serving as young men's president in our congregations working with the teenage boys.
We snapped a photo with some of Tiffany's other coaches.

We stuck around for a P90X3 workout with Tony Horton.  Pretty sure this is the best vacation ever!

I was able to go and get the first release of the new PiYo that day.  So excited.  Chalene is a great trainer.  I found out she holds the Guinness Book of World Records for most workout videos.

I skipped dinner plans with other coaches to go to a preview of Tony Horton's new program, P90, that will be released in September.

Summit Day one

Last year my sister, Tiffany, texted me from Beachbody Coach Summit with photos of Tony Horton (creator or P90X) and said that I had to come next year.  I became a coach in November last year but didn't really start helping people with their fitness goals until March or so of 2014.

I have told Doug many times how much I miss working at the health food stores (I worked there for 6 years after my mission).  I miss helping people feel well, feel good about themselves, and showing people that healthy food can taste good!  I have wanted to be a fitness coach for several years but couldn't imagine adding one more thing to my plate until Doug graduated from graduate school.  So…he graduated and I became a coach!  Great timing.  :-)

I drove down with Tiffany's neighbor and friend, Rachel.  We chatted the entire drive and she stayed with me at my grandparents house.  They are always so generous to host me and my family on a drive south.

The energy there was amazing!  We registered and took photos…the first of many!

I went to my first class.  They talked about how we're changing lives and 'ending the trend of obesity in our country'.  They told several stories of how peoples lives are changed when they take care of themselves and their health.  I even shed tears and had goosebumps at what a great opportunity it is to share what I've learned.  I used to think I was "cursed" -- growing up obese before age 9.  I struggled with very negative self-image and was often frustrated that the rest of my family didn't really struggle like I did with weight.  I had a new perspective of sharing what I've learned and helping others BECAUSE I went through that.

Beachbody released a new program during Summit--Chalene Johnson's PiYo.  It is a pilates/yoga that she invented herself.  The live class was amazing.

Then at the opening session, they talked about a clinical trial being done on Shakeology and how it causes a 5% reduction in body weight, reduces cholesterol, and blood sugar levels.  I was taking notes as fast as I could.  I loved every minute of it!

Then Tony Horton walked on stage to announce his new program (P90) and I thought it couldn't get any better!

Then Chalene Johnson walked on stage.  They are celebrities to me.  :-)

Good times rolling

Doug has been studying like crazy…every once in a while we get out to enjoy time with him.  They are treats for all of us.

Ethan and Sydney have been playing with the iPod while we drive.  They share headphones.  I have been finding headphones everywhere lately!  Such cute kids.

One of our favorite things is a good silly string fight!  We celebrated father's day with Doug in the backyard.

Those cans aren't easy for the kids to spray.  They get close and Doug and I hold still waiting for them to shoot us.  Adorable.

Can't get enough of these kids.
