Back Porch with Dave and Bob
Matt to the MTC
My littlest brother, Matthew, became Elder Beckstrand on February 20th. We drove to the Provo Missionary Training Center with Matt saying that he wasn't nervous, just his stomach was. He was so cute. There is a movie that they play at the MTC and just before it started, Matt moved from sitting next to me and went and sat between my parents. He is a tender-hearted kid.
We took some photos outside the MTC before we entered. I had great memories being there. It seemed like forever ago that I was there, but when I walked in the buildings, I realized it was pretty recent.

Apparently the sun was pretty bright--my eyes are barely open.

He looks so grown up wearing that badge.
Matt with my neices and nephews--Emmeli, Matt, Natalie, Derek, and Shelly (Katie's kids). They came all the way from Idaho that morning to see Matthew off.

Happy 2008
There was a family that showed up and were trying to get their little kids in the hot pots and the kids were screaming about how hot it was and crying and the dad was telling the kids to stop crying. It was crazy...I wanted to tell them that I could barely handle it and a 4 year old may have a hard time with it. It was hotter than a hot tub, no question.
My friend Kayla came with us and so did my brother David. It was great. David wore his speedo from his mission in Brazil (again) and we were glad it was dark outside. But, he does look naked in some of our photos. Yikes!
David had the idea to run outside and roll around in the snow just after midnight with no shoes or jackets. Here Doug is doing a summersault (wow--that is the first time I have ever typed that word). My mom was great--she was covered in snow! David had even taken his shirt off. I ran out and then back in really fast!
In fact, my grandpa locked us out of the house and I was banging on the door so angrily. Pretty funny looking back on it. My feet were starting to stick to the front steps. Crazy Beckstrand family moment.
After the rolling around, we had to take a photo. It was so great.
