Columbus- March 2010

This past weekend, we took a one day road trip to Columbus NHL hockey game. You may be asking- how in the world was I talked into loading into a van to drive 7 hours in one day for a sporting event?!??! don't worry dear friends, there was an outlet mall along the way. Complete with a Gap, Pottery Barn, Kate Spade, and Coach Outlet. Completely worth the pain and suffering of hockey. ...and I did also get a giant pretzel there and had some amazing quality time with the hubs and kiddos so the whole day was pretty darn spectacular.

Please don't judge me

Ok, so in my blogging hiatus (and I'm not entirely convinced I'll be a faithful blogger now..), I missed a couple key events such as...

*The majority of our wonderful, fabulous Disney vacation with my family
*The entire season of summer
*The state fair (if you like deep fried pickles as much as I, the fair is TOTALLY worth blogging about and completely notable)
*Brayden's first day of kindergarten
*Our new church plant (Tony recently left his position at a church and we have planted a church in our city...uh... yea, slightly notable)
*Brayden's Upward soccer season
*Bryce's first season of any sport (baseball)
*Grandparents visit
*Brayden takes TaeKwonDo (hilarious)
*Brayden lost his first tooth
*any many more

But because this seems overwhelmingly daunting to go back and post pics and stories and funny moments and etc,etc, just pretend. make them up. (I'm going to read this in 20 years and kick myself for not posting aforementioned items... I'll deal with that then... or maybe I'll go back and post, or maybe I won't...

Just in case you'd forgotten...

Just in case it's been soooo long that you had forgotten what m'boys looked like (maybe due to the fact that they've aged in years since I've posted), here's some recent pics.

Ok...so before dinner tonight, Tony asked me in the sweetest kindest way..."uh, do you ever think you'll blog again? I mean, you're on the computer ALL the time?" (Is it bad to admit outloud that excel spreadsheets are more fun than waiting for pictures to upload on blogger?... patience is NOT a virtue of mine!) I'm sure I replied with a snide comment and went about my way and then I remembered that I did start blogging to document our "life" as I am a complete failure with photo albums, scrapbooks, momentos, etc. and this was the one avenue I used to "scrapbook"... So the ole' man had a point and alas, here we are... what a better way to "jump back into blogging" than by posting pics of my adorable lil hubby. He'll kill me for posting his "headshots" but ain't he cute?!?! Tony recently lost 60lbs and I'm a tad proud. We had our friend and photographer extrordinaire take this pics because Tony needed a pic to send to churches in talking about our new church, Hamilton Village. And of course, I would not at all be heartbroken if she wanted to take family pics... I mean,...er...if she needed practice... :) hint, hint, oh so not very subtle hinty hint hint.

Brayden: "Mommy, I'm not going to do ANYTHING bad today".

Bryce: "Why?"

My dearest Bryce (aka Brycer)-
My sweet sweet boy. Where has the time gone? In three short years, you have grown SO much. You are so full of life, ambition, and undeniable will. I love watching you grow into such a big boy. I love seeing you try and conquer new things. I love your care-free and laid back spirit. I love watching you laugh with your brother. I LOVE being your mommy. Today- we celebrate you turning 3! I pray that you will grow into a young man that loves the Lord and seeks after Him with all that you are.
Happy 3rd birthday Bryce. I love you precious baby boy.

Disney Day 2- Animal Kingdom

Father's Day- Delayed but certainly not forgotten*

OK- at least this post isn't appearing near Christmas, or in the fall. Only being a couple weeks behind in posting Father's Day is certainly impressive for my overly nonimpressive posting record lately. But to an amazing father who unconditionally loves our boys, wrestles on the floor, plays baseball in the backyard, makes up goofy songs driving down the road, fishes, zooms cars on the floor, takes 5 year old "double knees" to the back, goes on boy trips, and has basement sleepovers- I can't imagine "doing" life without you- Happy Father's Day. Our boys are blessed beyond belief and we love you tons and tons!

Fireworks from the happiest place on earth

Happy 4th! no, we're not in Disney world. But we did see fireworks on our first night there....which I will say makes for a disappointing home town 4th of July firework show when you're seen the fireworks from Magic Kingdom. We told Bryce we were going to see fireworks and his first response:
"And Tinkerbell will fly home from the castle?"
"uh... only at Disneyworld son...and we are not there. Will a sparkler suffice?"

We did have a great 4th. We had a laidback family day today and went to my mom's for dinner and Tony lit fireworks in the street. The weather was, on the other hand, not great. It was cold and rainy all day. Jeans and sweatshirts today. so much for that tan I was hoping to continue this weekend and the pool I planned to frequent. *sigh*
