Audge Podge turns TWO

Man oh man, do we love this girl! Eighty-five percent of the day she has me laughing and smiling in complete adoration of her darling self, the other fifteen percent she has me buying a one-way ticket to Crazytown. (Some days tickets to Crazytown seem to be on discount and I'm buying them up all day long.)

We had lots of fun celebrating her birthday. We were in Chico the day before her birthday (Kaelynn's bridal shower and Cody's man-cation were planned for that weekend, although Cody woosed out of his claiming to have "Mono"), so of course we had a family celebration. I was so pleased with all who were able to be there, definitely a fun part of living near family. I made an ice cream pie which Cody declared was the best he'd ever had. We may have eaten mediocre batches of Mac 'n Cheese multiple nights this past week, but darnit, I can whip up a mean ice cream pie!

 Audrey received many wonderful gifts...
Bryn assisted her in opening them when the going was slow.
Audrey LOVES shoes. Here she is modeling a cute new pair of polka dot ones.
She also received bubbles which are always a hit.

On Audrey's actual birthday we invited friends over for a backyard playdate. It was really fun. Two favorite friends, Jacob and Hudson, came all the way from Roseville to play. Audrey was so excited they came!
Thank goodness for my awesome friends who are more on top of things than I am, and took a few pictures of Audrey at her party:

This is such a classic Audrey face. I love it! (Notice her "I {heart} Bidwell Park" tattoo...haha)
Here are a few more shots of our two-year-old:

*Audrey loves to sing. She sings in the car, in her bed, nearly everywhere. Favorite tunes include: I am a Child of God; Wheels on the Bus; "Hinckle, Hinckle" Little Star; Five Little Monkeys Swinging in a Tree; and Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam.
*She is great with names. She learns them quickly and always remembers them. She can name all the children in nursery with her and all of Bryn's friends too.
*She can identify an 'A' and declares, "Look! A for Audrey!"whenever she spots one. She can also count to 30 (usually skipping 4, 5, and 12). She knows her colors, and some of her shapes. So proud of my smart little lady!
*She loves babies, real and fake. When we're at home she is rarely found without a baby in her arms or "tucked in" somewhere nearby. She sings them lullabyes, wraps them in blankets, takes them on walks, and is so gentle and sweet with them. She is also drawn to them like a magnet when we are out and about. Her favorite things at the park are the swings, but if a stroller rolls up, the swing looses appeal and she wants to go check out the baby.
*She likes to read. Favorite books include: Curious George and Biscuit books.
*Her auburn hair/dark brown eye combination is exquisite. Every night I pray her red hair will stay forever.
*She's really funny. She makes silly faces and does silly voices to make us laugh.

WE LOVE YOU, AUDREY!!!

Telling the Girls

Announcing our new pregnancy at 9+ weeks is pretty early for me. I would have liked to wait a few more weeks before revealing our special news, but I was DYING to tell Bryn. And I knew that once I told Bryn I needed to be prepared for all the world to know. Having Bryn in on our news has been well worth everyone else knowing. The morning after we told her, her first interaction with me was coming up to me and gently rubbing my tummy. So sweet. Audrey has been in on the secret with Justin and I for awhile now. I had to tell someone! She's done well to keep it on the DL though. We recorded the girls' reactions when we told them our baby news. Click HERE to watch a segment of the video.

A Birthday, Dahling!

How can it be nearing the end of April? How can Bryn be FOUR? Life is a whirlwind! A beautiful, fun, try to squeeze in at least one load of laundry today so we can have clean underwear tomorrow, whirlwind.

Bryn had a darling Tea Party Birthday. The birthday party was on her actual birthday, so we were busy setting things up for the party and weren't able to go out for birthday donuts like Bryn hoped. Instead, she got to pick out whatever cereal she wanted for that morning. Cocoa Puffs quickly left her dreams of a donut as a distant memory.

We played Musical Hula Hoops. The kids loved it and wanted to play again and again.

We also played Pin the Lips on the Teacup.
Then is was time for Tea. The children used their very best manners, drank with their pinkies in the air, and called each other "Dahling." It was so cute. Notice all the guests dressed in their fanciest attire. Love it.

The servers were dressed fancy too.
The Birthday Girl with a mouth full of deliciousness.
Time to blow out the candles!

This is Bryn's perplexed expression when, after her best efforts, some of the candles were still lit.
The candle matter was put to rest, and the cupcake was delectable.
 Delectable, indeed.
Bryn received fun gifts from each of her friends. I took a picture with each guest and the gift they brought to help me remember for Thank You notes. I'm glad I did because now Bryn has a picture with each of her cute party guests.

Bryn started swimming lessons the week after her birthday, so Justin, Audrey, and I gave her a new swimsuit and goggles. See how this beautiful girl has grown here, here, and here.
We love you so, so, SO, so much, Bryn! Happy Birthday, my sweet girl.

Snow Tubing

We had so much fun snow tubing at Soda Springs in January. It was fuh-reezing, but the resort was nearly empty and the sky was clear and beautiful.

One of my favorite sights is a toddler dressed in snow gear. I just love it.

Bryn was so happy every moment we were up there.

Laura, Ashley, Jonathan, Kim, Dad, Audge, Just, Bryn, Jill, Case
Who needs a tube? A girl and a mountain of snow = hours of fun!
A beautiful day on the slopes!
Bryn became a pro pretty quickly and was walking up the "magic carpet" on her own in no time.
Uncle Casey and Bryn built a happy snow mound :)
I didn't get any photos of the adult hills, but we went down those too. They were faaasssstt!! And SO fun!

Thanks Dad and Kim for a super fun day!
