So far today...

1. We got a firm "NO." from AT&T about cable and Internet at our address...waiting to hear back from our 2nd choice company!
2. There are other houses being built on our street, and so far one of the builders next door has "Yeeeeeehaw"ed literally 9 times since I started writing this post! (I'm writing from our deck & can hear everything they say!) Hahaha!
3. Half of the construction people that built our house and others in this neighborhood are Amish! I love seeing them with their cute little lunch boxes & suspenders! I am so intrigued by the Amish culture! ...hmmm, it actually makes me feel kinda weird complaining about no internet! I HAVE been unusually productive these past couple weeks! :}
4. It's 50,000 degrees F outside & I'm going to head inside to cool off in the one room with actual window dressings! (the blinds are ordered for the house, but not installed yet!) So, I hung curtains in one of the guest rooms oday & it's now the puppies' and my favorite chill spot!
5. I'm so looking forward to my family visiting this weekend! It'll be so great seeing everyone, and I'm hoping to put some of mom & Little Miss's design skills to use! I already have some projects for us to work on lined up! I hope I can share some pictures of the house soon! Cross your fingers that we can join the 21st century sometime soon!

New House, No Internet

So I'm posting from my iPhone which is always interesting!
We're in our new house!! Woohoo! I love it, and we actually have about 90% of our things put away where they belong (thanks to my ever motivated Mr!). Problem is: being that we are the first house built on a new street, it seem no cable/Internet company knows if they service out house! Not a single, darn one. Supposedly we should be hearing back in the next few days IF we can get cable/Internet & at that time we can schedule an appointment for setting up service! Good grief! Oh well, in the meantime we've been living Little House on the Prairie style-we gave furniture away when we moved out from our last place (including a gorgeous dark wicker chair that i pretty much loved) so we could squeeze all the "essentials" into our moving van, and entertain ourselves by singing to eachother, and ground our own corn for grits...okay not really the last part so much. We HAVE visited our new grocery store which is practically like a new world compared to the Krogers and Meijers that we're used to. Oh! And we have our new puppy, Eloise-she is so sweet & hilarious! She's the classic little sister, wanting to do everything her big brother does...including toting around all of his toys which are three times her size.
Anyhow, sorry this was rambling and picture-less, but I promise to post pictures as soon as I can!

Meet Eloise!

Our newest addition!
We actually pick her up on Wednesday, and I can't wait! There are so many things to update y'all on, but Eloise couldn't wait another day to be introduced! Mr and I have had a few talks with Malone to tell him about his "little sister" on the way, and how he's going to have to be a responsible big brother soon. ;) We are so excited, and I can't wait to share pictures when we finally bring her home!

Since I've been gone...

This past year has flown by!
Since last summer, Mr and I have been busy little bees adjusting to "real life."

Real life=
Me driving 2 hrs a day to and from work
Moving twice (and now a third time) due to work and residency
Mr's weird hours on call
Trying to find a church home
Squeezing in some fun while we're at it
...but, apparently no time for blogging :(

The good news is, my last day of work at my old office was yesterday...and that means, HELLO again, everybody! I'm back in action! Mr and I are in the midst of moving for the next part of his residency training, so I should be packing as we speak. But, a girl's gotta take a break every so once in a while, right? Mr is still at work for the rest of this week, so we had a packing party this weekend...turned on some Dave Matthews, poured a glass of wine & packed up the whole upstairs!
Today, it's up to just me & Malone-but unfortunately, Malone isn't much help with the heavy lifting.

I hope that some of you are still around and maybe even interested in what's been going on in the world of The Luckiest Mrs. Expect some updates from the past several months soon!

okay, now to get caught up on all of your wonderful blogs-um, I mean packing! ;)

Goodness!

Yes, it's been a million years since my last post.
I've officially entered the "real world".

Real World=Mr and I have moved twice in the last 3 months due to work, I drive 2 hours every day to get to work, learning that being a dentist is actually quite a bit more stress/responsibility than I feel ready for, turning 27 (my "I-feel-old" age), our puppy Malone has allergies to grass or hay or dirt or some other item that we just can't escape, Mr and Malone are my only friends in a 3 hour radius, I have to fight tooth and nail for Comcast to get our bill straight...

Real world, bah humbug.

Whatever happened to the old days when my biggest worry was if the lemonade was sweet enough at sorority rush??? Lordy, Lordy!

Going Places

Polish and Pearls is so sweet! She passed on these two great awards & totally made my day! :) I love her blog, and I hope you stop by to check it out if you haven't yet!

Where would I like to be in ten years?

This is so fun....let's see.
Mr and I will be coming up to our 12th anniversary! Malone will be 12 years old, and we'll have two or three little ones running around the house! Hopefully we'll live close to both sides of our family, I'll be working about 2 days a week as a dentist (don't tell Mr I said that! haha...) We talk about me cutting back on my work week once we have kids...but whether its cutting back to 3 days or 1 day is a matter of discussion. ;) While we're dreaming here, I'd like to be about 15 pounds lighter & fluent in espanol!

The rules for this award are to thank the person who gave you the award {Thank you, Ashley!}, share ten things about yourself, pass this award onto ten bloggers who you recently discovered and think are fantastic and finally contact the bloggers to let them know you’ve picked them for an award.

So here goes...ten things about me:

1. I have never broken a bone that required a cast, and I used to be so jealous of all the kids who got to wear them in school! The first bone I broke was a teensy little one in my left ring finger. It was before Mr and I were engaged, and I was terrified that it would be deformed & look weird when/if he proposed! LOL!

2. I drive almost an hour to work; ordinarily I don't like to drive anywhere, but with a book on CD I actually look forward to hopping in the car! My sister thinks this is totally dorky and swears it'd put her straight to sleep, but it's my saving grace! I just got a new library card, so I've been using it to get a few light-hearted books on CD. But did you know that Cracker Barrel also has a system where you can pay to borrow books on CD and return them at any Cracker Barrel in the country? I've done this too & it works great...except for when you forget to return it (aka I now own at least 3 books on CD that I'll never listen to again.) oopsy!

3. I don't like to floss. I DO floss, of course...yes, I know it's important for my teeth and gums. But more than anything, I floss simply because I figure I'd better practice what I preach. I'd feel like a hypocrite if I only flossed a couple times a week while I tell my patients to floss daily!

4. Mosquitos are the bain of my existence. You'd think I paint myself with honey before going outside the way they flock to me, and I'm hyper-reactive to their bites! Seriously, sometimes it looks like my legs are just a patchwork of big, pink, puffy welts after a casual walk around the neighborhood. ugh.

5. Okay, I have a couple other "bains of my existence." a) Artificial watermelon flavoring. EW ew. I don't know what it is, and I wish I loved it. But I don't. b) Rude people. Seriously, folks. It's not hard to smile back, and it's not hard to throw up a little thank-you-wave of acknowledgement if I let you cut in front of me in traffic.

6. I've discovered KLOVE on the radio, and it's what's playing at all times in the car (when I'm not listening to a book on CD). It brightens my morning & inspires me for the whole day!

7. My sister Little Miss stayed with us the past week to study for her big national board exam (she's going to be a dentist too!), and had to leave today! :( It was so fun spending time with her again! We got to do girly things like makeovers, watch chick flicks, and eat dessert for breakfast! Last night, I was trying to experiment with her eye make up, and we were literally IN TEARS laughing as I tried to apply liquid liner onto her lids! It was priceless! There were tears STREAMING down my face! I should have taken a picture of the finished product, but Little Miss would've killed me! HaHAha!

8. My birthday is Tuesday, July 20th! I'll be...gulp...27 years old. sheesh! I vividly remember when my mom was 27, and it's officially my "feeling OLD" age. Mr has been so cute, he's been sneaking around the house trying to work on my "birthday surprises!" He's so adorable.

9. I'm looking for a good all-terrain type vehicle to drive in the snow. I'm not used to driving in harsh winter weather, let alone one hour to work, so we're thinking about trading in Mr's Volvo sedan for something more snow-worthy. Any ideas?

10. I've always wanted to get a caricature drawn, and on July 4th, Mr and I had one made for free downtown! Here it is! Too funny.

Now, for the best part! I'm passing both of these awards onto these SIX wonderful bloggers!

Katherine Anne @ The Medical School Mrs.
Katherine @ Just Lovely
Brooke @ thehenncoop
{She's my cousin I wrote about here! Now she has a really cute blog!}

p.s. My mom is hosting a giveaway on her blog, so stop by and check it out! She also gave me a really cute award, and I'll be posting it here in the next couple days...so be on the look out!
