Sun, sea, sand…..and simplicity

I think the title of my post sums up this card quite nicely today.

It's a very quick and simple yet cheery card that I made using some lovely Beach Hut Stamps from Stamp Addicts and coloured in with some lovely bright  pro markers.

As you can see, I have made some sand dunes with some yellowish papers, which I texturised using my much loved dotty stamp.

Everything else that you see is from the stamp set and I simply coloured, cut and decoupaged to make a happy little card for a dull old day!

Hope you like my very quick card for today!

Here are some challenges that I would like to enter…..

How to build a Snowman in July…..

Time for a bit more Christmas showcasing today, and here is a snowman that I built early in July….who still hasn't melted.  :-)

This cheerful chap is from the Crafters Companion Nordic Christmas range and, since I have a soft spot for all things snowy, I couldn't resist making him in to a card.
The papers lovely backing papers are from the Nordic CD and they are quite bright so I thought I would use green card to mat with, and I then coloured the snowman's scarf in green to pull everything together.

The sentiment that you see is also from the stamp set and all the dottiness that you see was created using some coloured stamp pads and my dotty stubby stamp which comes from Stamp Addicts.

Finally, I wanted some dangly snow flakes and these have been cut from my Crafters Companion snowflake dies and then glittered for that extra bit of sparkle.

So finally, before I go, here are some challenges that I would like to enter:

Getting Floral at Fab n Funky

Good morning everyone!

Well once again it's time for a new challenge over at Fab N Funky and this time we have a lovely summer theme which is 'Use Flowers'.

So I have gone to town and put plowers on everything!

I started of with this beautiful Lacy Sunshine image which I printed 3 times, and decoupaged so that the  flowers really pop out.

Next my backing papers…from one of my NitWits collections……wish I could remember which one!

And finally on to my gorgeous die….first time out of the packet for this one. It was from Tonic, and I believe it is called a Verso Daisy Frame. Well one cut and I was in awe..such a perfect cut and so delicate and detailed too.

So finally, in for a penny, in for a pound…I had to throw in a bit of glitter and some pearl drops to bling up those border flowers.

So that's my make for today……very girly….very flowery!!

I can't wait to see all your lovely designs too, so don't forget to visit Fab n Funky this week and load up your creations.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Say cheese!

Well Sunday night has come around all to quickly, and I am making the most of my last few hours of weekend freedom before going back to the grind tomorrow.

So I have one more post for this weekend and it is this lovely Sherri Baldy image ..such a fun young lady with her camera. It reminds me very much of a camera called a brownie which was my first camera when I was a young girl. It had actually belonged to my Nanna before me and was still working as good as new. I can still remember  fiddling about trying to wind the film on to the sprockets...and the surprise of seeing how the pictures would come out.  :-)
My little girl has been coloured in Spectrum Noir pens and the lovely butterfly  die is from Tonic.

Finally, of course I would like to enter some challenges:

Oh Deer

Christmas is in the air…even though it's bright sunshine and 23 degrees outside! I am feeling very Christmassy right now, having had the opportunity to play with the new Nordic Christmas range from Crafters Companion, in readiness for the Pick of the Day Launch earlier this week.

Here is one of my makes using one of the fabulous Reindeer stamps……I love him as he is such a quirky little character with just the right mix of cute and comical, so he would be good for boys and girls I think.

So, this time I have gone with a gift box made from Kraft card…..something I have not used too much but, it seems just right for these images. There is also a Kraft coloured Neenah card, called Desert Storm available from CC these days and that's what I used for colouring my image. Makes a nice change don't you think, and white pen shows up really well on it too.

The image is coloured with Spectrum Noirs and the backing paper is taken from the Nordic CD. I love that it is red but muted in this case.

The sentiment is also from the stamp set and I filled the box with coloured tea lights, to match with the sentiment.

So I hope you like my little box.  :-)

Here are some challenges that I would like to enter today.

Nordic Christmas - getting me in to the Christmas Spirit.

I am very excited because tonight see the launch of the new Nordic Christmas Range from Crafters Companion.

The range, containing forum stamps, a fabulous CD ROM and some ever so sweet embossing folders, will be launched at 9pm on Ideal Word will follow up shows all day on Wednesday on both Ideal World and Create and Craft.

I absolutely ADORE this range, and I am pretty sure it will be a sell out…so be sure to watch and order.

I have a sneak peak to show you, featuring one of the stamp sets, and this one really appealed to me. I love the simplicity of the house and they are so fun and simple to colour.
I thought this image was just crying out to be put in a Snow Globe…so that's what I did. Then I threw in a bit of glitter for that winter wonderland sparkle!

Finally, the sentiment that you see is also part of the set..a perfect match don't you think?

So, there are loads of Christmassy challenges out there this week. Here are some that I would like to enter.

A day for cycling

The Tour de France starts today......a big event in our household since my husband is a keen cyclist. There will be many hours of TV coverage  ahead, but the good news is that I can spend some time crafting with the occasional glance towards the TV!

So in honour of the big event, I thought it would be a good idea to post a cycling card, and today I have chosen this cute Lily of the Valley stamp.
I have coloured the image with Pro Markers and tried to match them to the backing papers which were from Bearly Mine (sadly no longer available), and followed an old sketch that I found from Sketch Saturday....I think!!

Well that's my very quick post for today. Now on to some challenges that I would like to enter:

Birthdays on my mind…..

Well it's time for me to host the challenge over at Fab n Funky this week, and this time I have chosen the theme of Birthdays.

For my DT card I opted to make something for a small boy, and I wanted to incorporate the age, so this is the result.

My cheeky little pirate comes from the Crafters Companion Angelica and Friends set of stamps and the fabulous Pirate backing paper comes form the CD of the same range.

For the number I dug deep in to my old stash and came up with a set of number stamps which were part of the Jayne Nestorenko Cute companions range. I am not sure if Jayne is still producing these, but those numbers have still turned out to be very useful all these years later!
And finally a close up of my little pirate…….looks like his treasure is very well guarded!

If you would like to win some trasure of your own, pop on over to Fab n Funky and you could be the lucky winner of a $20 voucher from our generous sponsors - Inspired by Stamping.

Look forward to seeing you there.
