Tea Party for One

Having recently moved out of a shared flat, I'm really enjoying some time on my own. Sometimes it's nice to take a book out into the sunshine and enjoy some peace and quiet. Reading is good for the soul, after all, and it's so important to treat ourselves once in a while.

Why not find yourself a beautiful place to take a peaceful walk? I love walking in the woods and through fields of wild flowers.

Time to settle down with some treats! It doesn't get more British than tea and fruitcake! Can you hear the birds chirping? Does the grass feel funny, tickling your toes?

Watch out for these sneaky ones! They like to steal bits of cake when you're not looking!

Do you enjoy spending time on your own? Have you picked your summer reads? I'm currently reading The Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George. I highly recommend it if you enjoy historic novels.

Photo a Day Challenge 2013

This week has just flown by for me! It was last Friday that I fell ill, but today I'm feeling almost completely back to normal again :) Maybe even a teeny bit healthier now that I've got that horrid virus out of my system. Yuck.

I wasn't able to do much with the photo challenge, however I managed to catch up over the last couple of days. I took a photo for 'movement', which was on my most ill day. That one was just of my room, the same, unmoving area that I had been staring at from my sickbed all day. I think it's too boring to post! I'm also leaving out one from the other day called 'street'. Don't tell anybody, but I skipped this one entirely!

06/01/2013 - MINE - My sweet little Mackie
08/01/2013 - SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH 'T' - Some pretty Tealights that were a lovely 'get well soon' gift. They're rose-scented, which is my favourite :)
09/01/2013 - PAPER - My good friend Mirjam sent me a christmas card this year and when I opened it, this beautiful origami snowflake slipped out
10/01/2013 - ONE O'CLOCK - My little watch. Here's another secret, I'm not very good at roman numerals. Of course I'm ok with my watch (now..) but there was an awkward moment a few weeks ago in the library when I couldn't find anything due to the references for the books all being in roman numerals!

How are you getting on with the challenge, those of you that are taking part? I've got a busy weekend coming up, filled with essays and hopefully lots of blogging :) How about you guys?

This made me smile

I found this yesterday and it made me laugh. I know a few of you that will like this...

Having lived in Norway since last August, I'm sure you can imagine how much I'm missing my little dog. Her name is Mackie and she is probably the most-snuggled animal on this planet. Most people fear becoming the crazy cat-lady, and I sometimes think I'm destined to become a crazy anything-furry-and-cute-lady. But the best part is, I'm not even remotely worried about that. I'm kind of looking forward to it!

Happy weekend!

What do you have planned? I'm busy recovering from my younger sister's 18th birthday party, having some cozy sofa-time with my poorly little dog :)

Why don't you make a nice warm cup of tea and sit and look at some links with us!

Why don't you knit your own little kittycat!

I really love radishes. Look how pretty you can make them!

This is super smart

Anyone who can bring me some of these today is my hero

I'm flying back to Norway tomorrow morning and was appalled to learn that I have made the horrid error of taking an early morning flight on the day the clocks go forward!

I know I've been slow at commenting but just you wait a few more hours and a load of comments will be coming your way!

 Have a snuggly weekend :)
