Something old Vintage card

Good Morning :)
After several days of heavy rain today has started with some lovely sunshine :)
We have a new challenge today on the Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe challenge blog...

SOMETHING OLD

We would like you to share projects that feature something old or forgotten.
sassy studio designs
Our fabulous sponsors this week are Sassy Studio Designs who are kindly offering one randomly selected winner 4 images from their gorgeous collection.

My card this week came together quite quick! I used papers from My Minds Eye Pretty Things 6x6 pad, distress all the edges with scissors then inking them with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I added some gold Inka Gold to finish them off.
You can get your hands on a Pretty Things Grab bag HERE it includes the 6x6 paper pad and gorgeous Washi tape!

I then grabbed my flower and mixed media stash boxes to make the centre piece of the card.

The main rose is fairly new, but the two small roses are old.

I found some gold stamens at the bottom of the box I had forgotten about and added them into the arrangement along with some old buttons, wire and jump rings.

There are some punched leaves, beads and canvas flowers in there too!

Finally I gave the whole card a spritz of gold Tattered Angels and pink Perfect Pearls mists.
Then a sprinkle of Gold paint followed by some Gesso.

All the challenge details, entry and gorgeous DT inspiration can be found HERE.
I hope the sun is shining where you are have a great day

Bake Them!

 Hello everyone :)
This months C4E Mojo sketch has been posted today with a freebie too!!
If like me you love sketches hop over to the C4E Cafe blog!

I used the sketch to create this layout of my youngest son, Alix making cornflake cakes. Alix was telling me each step we needed to do, including the most important step of licking the spoon lol!

When the mixture had been put into the cake tins I asked Alix what we had to do next, he said " bake them"
LOL!

There will be a tutorial for this flower on the C4E Cafe blog tomorrow.
There are still a few of these page kits available from the C4E store. They include the gorgeous Crate Paper papers which you can also find in the C4E store.
Have a fab day

Mr and Mrs

Hello :)
How has your bank Holiday been? we have had a quiet family weekend just enjoying being together after DH being away and Mikael's camp trip last week. Nice to be together :)
I found a couple of draft posts lurking in blogger lol! This layout is from the January C4E Crop!
I still have a few of these kits available HERE either as a single layout kit or double layout kit.
The Best Creation papers in this kit are just stunning glittered and glossed it was hard to cut into these!

The photo is from my wedding in 2007! I am still working my way through the wedding photos. I prefer to scrap what I feel like at the time rather than sticking to completing an album.
The gorgeous flowers have silver Paint on the edges. I do love my Paint Dabbers lol!
Trickiest part of this layout is the cutting out, but worth the effort.

I have added a few flat back gems and of course generous helpings of Stickles :)

Have a great day!

C4E R#12 - Technique/Theme Recipe

Hello everyone :)
Thank-you for the well wishes for the boys they are all better now and back to their normal naughty selves (hubby too!)
I am actually on time this week YAY! I am trying out some new methods to get organized at the moment I quite like this one at the start of the week you list everything you would like to get done in the week, then each day choose 5 things from the list to do. When they are done you add more one at a time.
My One Word for 2011 is organize, I failed miserably with it last year lol! so I'm trying again this year.
Anyway enough of that waffle! It's Friday and time for a new C4E Recipe. This week we would like you to include something hidden on your projects.
At the March C4E crop I taught several methods of Hidden journaling (including the pocket below) and included a simple hidden element to the crop kit layout.

Behind the photo is space to add lots of journaling and extra photos.

I bought some Perfect Pearls Mists to try and love them! This layout has a gorgeous shimmer, sorry it was really hard to capture it :(
The kit includes a length of vintage seam binding which I inked with Alcohol inks and blending solution. When it was dry I made the little flower below.

I used an Xcut punch for the leaves,  I love the shape of these leaves but the punch is terrible you have to get the leaves out with a pin which rips them. I am going to have to find a new one.
The velvet trim is from my stash and not included in the kit :(
I surprised myself with the sewing lol! it actually turned out neat lol!
Want some more inspiration? check out the fabulous C4E DT gallery!!
Have a great weekend!

Bunting :)

Hello everyone :)
I can now share this Bunting class I did for the UKS Green Buttons Scrapping Bonanza weekend last weekend!
The Kit is available HERE with everything you need to complete this Bunting.
I really have loved using the Crate Restoration Collection lol! I have also used My Minds Eye brads and DP, Prima e-line flowers and Bazzill Cardstock. The Ribbon was bought from my local haberdashery as were the beads.

It was really hard to get a good photo of the whole bunting so here are the individual 'flags'

Thanks to Margaret from the C4E crop who discovered a quick way to sew the centers of the rosettes, so much easier than a needle and thread!
Thanks for stopping by have fun!

July crop layouts!

Hello everyone :)
As promised I am back with the layouts from the July Crop.
The first is called "Snapshot" and was also entered into the July House challenge on UKS. It made it all the way to the final!....and came third :) First time I have been in a final on UKS :)
This layout was scrap lifted from a very talented scrapper on UKS called Taniwha
I have written a post on the C4E Cafe Blog on how you can do this layout and the "Explore" layout.
I have used very little DP and lots of yummy flowers and chipboard which was painted with crackle paints.
The second layout is called "Explore" and is of my eldest munchkin on a beach in Devon. My boys love the beach :) A very simple layout with only a few embellishments. The little glass square beads are from an old mobile that hung in the boys bedroom, shame it got broken but the beads are great for layouts!
The Beach Bingo card is one of the Summer Bingo cards.
The next 2 layouts use the Tim Holtz Masks. There is a post HERE on the C4E cafe blog about how to use them.
There is something quite refreshing about sitting on a windy beach! It blows away all the cobwebs. The photo on this layout is my mum sat on a beach in Devon. The DP's are My Minds Eye which can be found HERE
Again I have used a C4E Bingo card, the title is Prima Chipboard alphas old script.
The last layout is "1st Day" and is a photo of the munchkin on his way to his first day at pre-school. Can't believe he starts school on a few weeks!
The DPs I have used are from the Hoot Hoot kit  I cut lots of circles with my Cuttlebug and nestabilities circle die and added them around, under and over the photo. The Title was made using the Tim Holtz Ransom masks as templates then using the Timeworks masks I inked them the same way as the background.
I sold out of the masks at the crop but will be getting some more soon :)
Thanks for stopping by have fun!

Splash!!

Hello
This layout I made  for the UKS May week 4 challenge. I loved doing this one! lol!
I have seen a few layouts like this about and have wanted to have a go. It has lots of dimension and glitter glue!
The challenge was to make a layout that was not 12x12, add something big and use bright colours.
The DP I have use are some left over pieces of Fancy Pants Summer Soiree from the C4E Sunkissed kit HERE
The photo is of the munchkin in a paddling pool at Nana's recently. I got some fab photos of the kids!

I love the big buttons from the Homespun collection (there are a few pack left on the C4E website) Bright colours and gorgeous detail!
I'm off to play with the June Crop goodies! Thanks for stopping by!

c4e sketch #40 Hot Hot Hot!!!!

This week on the C4E challenge blog we are asking you use the sketch to make cards with hot summer colours! Hop over HERE to see the sketch and gorgeous DT cards.
I really enjoyed making this card!! lol!! I don't normally use orange but loved the overall finish of this one.

The PP is a new paper in at C4E from Fancy Pants Summer soiree collection, it's called Glimmer and with lots of glitter glue it really does glimmer now!! lol The green paper is also summer soiree paper, as is the ribbon.
The image is one of the first set of Gorjuss girls coloured with pencils and dotted with glitter glue.

The flowers are the made with the Autumn leaves stamp from the C4E July kit and a Daisy bucket stamp from the July crop kit. I have stamped onto the glimmer paper twice cut out the 1st one along the outside line, the 2nd one on the inner flower shape, then stamped the small stitched daisy onto the green PP and cut out. I've used a brown stazon inkpad for the stamping. Then pinched the petals of the 2 large flowers and used an embossing tool in the centre of the small flower to give them some shape. Attached the flowers with adhesive and finished with a little button, and glitter glue!

The butterfly is an Autumn leaves stamp. I stamped onto the glimmer paper cut out and shaped the wings with a boning tool. Again added lots of glitter glue.

The final result is a very hot twinkly card!! lol
