Pumpkin carving

For family home evening we designed and carved pumpkins! Yippie!! ;)

Can you guess who's is who's?

Pumpkin heart nose-Emma
Pumpkin with teeth-Liam
Pumpkin eating another pumpkin-Kira and Fox
Sonic-Tony (he cheated and got a template of the internet...cheater)

On a sadder note, I think my camera is on the the fritz (that's a saying right?). It wont let me change the settings anymore. Unfortunately, right before it stopped working right I had it on a setting that I thought would look cool for the pumpkins which made little stars show up wherever there was light...it looked lame on the pumpkins, and now its stuck. So if from now on all my pictures have little stars on them, you'll know why. (Auntie Bobbie, if you get in any fancy camera's you want to sell me, I'll buy it ;) and I'll even pay for shipping to get it out here :))

Pumpkin painting

Last week we painted (brush, finger, and mouth painted...yes, Fox even ate the end of his brush. I guess it just looked too irresistible not to try. After it was in his mouth, he decided he didn't like it any more :)) pumpkins with our friends!!

Pretty awesome! Did you notice the walmart bag bibs? Yes, that was my awesome touch.

A little game

Here's a little game for you-
It's a mad lib, of my post. Fill it out first, and lets see how close you get to my real story.

One fine _____(1. season) day I sent the kids out to ______(2. verb) so I could _____(3.verb). When the kids came back they said, "Mom, what's that on our doorstep?" I looked out to see _____(4. number) _________(5. adjective) _____(6. Noun) ______(7. adverb) looking in at me. I couldn't stop _______ing(8.verb). So I grabbed my _______(9.noun) and ________(10.verb) (what else am I suppose to do?) The _______(11. noun), was probably my favorite...although the______(12. adjective) _______(13. noun) was pretty awesome also. I shut the door and prayed that who ever left the ______(same word as #6) would take them away. I did not want them. ______(14. a number) hours later, no such luck. I really didn't want them. Finally _______(15. person(s)) confessed to pulling the ______ (same word as #6) out of the _______(16. noun) and placing them on the back step, in hopes that I would let them keep them. Needless to say the ________(same word as #6) are back in the __________(same word as #16). But it made for a good laugh.

One fine fall day I sent the kids out to play so I could take a nap. When the kids came back they said, "Mom, what's that on our doorstep?" I looked out to see many ugly stuffed animals creepily looking in at me. I couldn't stop laughing. So I grabbed my camera and took a picture (what else am I suppose to do?) The gremlin, was probably my favorite...although the ninja raccoon was pretty awesome also. I shut the door and prayed that who ever left the creepy animals would take them away. I did not want them. 4 hours later, no such luck. I really didn't want them. Finally the kids confessed to pulling the animals out of the dumpster and placing them on the back step, in hopes that I would let them keep them. Needless to say the nasty little things are back in the dumpster. But it made for a good laugh.

and yes, the gremlin is being propped up by a stick. That's just how awesome my kids are... :)

Tony is 32!

Tony had a birthday, shout hooray! The night before his birthday he took his super attractively cute wife on a date to Texas Roadhouse, then on his birthday his kids woke him up and gave him a few presents.
Like Blue Diamond, smokey, almonds(which his super attractively cute wife ate most of :)),
A blu-ray movie, and a pair of pants and new shirt (not pictured).
Hooray for birthdays! And group hug/squish for Dad!!
Tony decided to have crepes for his birthday breakfast, since he worked late that night...but don't feel too bad for him...
because the next morning he got on a plane and flew to California to spend 4 days with his bestest buddy. Spoiled. Happy Birthday babe!

Fox is 2!!

Fox turned 2 this month! When asking him what he wanted on his birthday cake he replied "taco". The next day I asked again and he said, "taco", then thought for a minute and said "moo". So that's what he got. A birthday cake (well really brownies) with tacos and a cow on it. I'd say it turned out pretty fantastic. The taco is made out of a Pringles chip, chocolate chip "meat," dyed coconut "lettuce" and "cheese" and raspberry "tomatoes. The same things are inside of the burrito, except the outside is a tortilla with cinnamon sugar and butter baked on it. :)
Fox got lots of presents! (Frog, Fox, and captain America shirt included) Thanks for the presents everybody!!
I bet you can't guess what's in this present he's opening...
And what did we have for his birthday dinner?
Taco's...of course :)
Happy Birthday little man!! We sure like having you in our family with us!!

You know what I should be doing...

Tony's been gone for the last 3 three days (to Cali, with his best friend, for his birthday). He comes home Sunday night/ Monday morning. You know what I should have been doing some of the time he was gone? Blogging. I have about 6 post to do. But, Tony's gone, and so all my duties in life have flown out the windows. The kids are lucky they are getting fed and dressed. It's been like an awesome mini vacation, because I decided that while he had fun in Cali, I should have fun here. So we have. With minimal cooking and cleaning. It's been awesome!! But I only have 1 1/2 more days of it. So now I'm going to go watch a little bit of Psych, and eat bon bons. Because when Tony gets home the vacation is over, and real life has to resume...and so does the working out/diet ;)

You'll get your 6 neglected posts then :)

The Lord on his shoulder

There once was a man who traveled the path of the lost.
He cared little for the world; it's fame and it's cost.
He had no provisions, nor protection from cold,
Just the Lord on his shoulder and his feet on the road.
Not long into his travels he came to a marsh,
Where the mud bubbled black, and the rain fell harsh.
There the Lord leaned down and whispered in his ear,
"Cross the marsh, my child, there is nothing to fear."
"I am weak, oh Lord," the good man cried,
But the Lord, on his shoulder, had no reply.
So with faith, the man said, "God, with you as my guide,
I can make it, I can make it, through to the other side."

Many steps later and across much time,
He came to a mountain that was too high to climb.
"Climb the mountain," said the Lord, loudly and clear.
"Climb the mountain?" said the man with a shake and a tear.
"I am weak, oh Lord," to his God, the man cried,
but the Lord, on his shoulder, had no reply.
So with trembling fingers and a full broken heart,
The man on his climb, did his journey impart.
"Lord with thee as my strength, my Savior, and guide,
I can make it to the top and down the other side."

Several steps later and many more years,
The man still traveled over happiness and tears,
When he came to a river that was twelve rivers wide
He knew he could never make it to the other side.
The Lord, on his shoulder, kissed and patted his head.
"Swim the river, my son," the Lord simply said.
"I am weak, oh Lord," the old man began,
But dived the frigid water, kicked his aged legs, and swam.
"With the Lord on my shoulder, I have traveled this road.
He hath given me shelter, and kept out the cold.
With thee, oh Lord, as my strength and my guide,
I can make, I can make it, to the other side."
