A day at the Park

Evidently this is post 1 of 2. Blogger is having issues with loading my pictures. So enjoy my crazy, daring kids sliding down the slide, and a little bit of Iowa :) At least until I can get my awesome pictures up...

A little bit about Emma

Emma is my biggest sweetheart. She is incredibly smart, sweet and sassy.
The other day Emma, Fox and I went to Chuck E. Cheese's with a few friends. I made Emma sit down and told her before she could go play she had to eat a piece of pizza. In the middle of her eating I stood up and left the table for a while to go get a drink. When I came back Emma was sweetly eating her pizza, and my friend was choking back laughs. I asked what was going on and she said, "As soon as you left Emma stood up and ran around and played, but then hurried back to her seat before you got back." ...
I'm pretty sure she does things like that ALL the time! But I don't see them so how can I discipline it? She's sneaky I tell ya!!
Today Emma was watching Curious George while I was on the computer. She came to me and asked for an apple and I told her I would get her one in just a minute, and she couldn't get one by herself because they need to be cut up (You'll see why in a minute). She pouted for a minute and then headed back downstairs. A few minutes later I went down to get her an apple and saw her licking her hands. I looked at her curiously and she replied "I accidentally got into this" and pointed at the brown sugar. I'm sure it was an accident, that brown sugar is always looking for someone to get into it ;)
Yesterday Emma went downstairs to help me get soy sauce for our dinner. I let her carry our giant industrial bottle of soy sauce (we are obsessed with soy sauce okay?) back up stairs and while walking she looked at the label and said, "This says pa-an-cakes." I busted up and told her that she wouldn't like it very much on pancakes. Of course maybe she would she drinks the stuff straight if I don't watch her. ecth!
She learns so different from how Liam learns. I have been working with her on her shapes for a couple of weeks now and she almost has them down. I will point at a shape and she'll just spout out any name that comes to mind. I'll point at a circle (which she knows) and she'll reply "triangle, square, rectangle..." until she gets it or shrugs her shoulders. Finally I tell her to really look at it and she'll get it. But she's picking up on letters faster then Liam did...weird hu?
I know there are more stories and frases that she has said that I think, 'I need to remember to write those down...' Lot of good thats done me. :)
She is extremely good at helping me. Loves her siblings and still gets sad when ever Liam leaves for school. She has her Daddy wrapped around her finger, even though he doesn't realize it. She is full of life, and energy, and mischief. She makes me happy. :)

After Emma accidentally got into the brown sugar, I got her one of these
It doesn't look very impressive until...

You see that it's twice the size of my kids head ;). (After we bought them I kept wanting to find some one with a normal apple and do the Crocodile Dundee thing-"that's not a apple," hand them my apple, "Now that's an apple." All done in an Australian accent.)

They are awesome apples!! We turned one into a giant, three-times-as-big-as-your-head carmel apple, YUM!! (I may or may not have just drooled all over myself after thinking about it). It was delicious!!
(P.S. yes, I believe we should use this shot of Emma in as her wedding shot...just done with an apple and not flowers)

By Request

Bet you didn't know that you could request things to put on my blog did you? Well, neither did I. :) But my Mom requested a couple of pictures of things my kids told her about, so here they are (with a little bit more :)).

My Cute Emma
Emma showing off our fancy new halloween window clings
Our scary new dollar store, trick or treat rug. (sometimes I love that darn dollar store)
Emma's fancy backpack. She put it and her shoes on yesterday and was convinced that she was going to school with Liam. She was a little bit disappointed when I told her that Liam's teacher only taught 5 year olds.

Fox's awesome mohawk while taking a bath in the kitchen sink. (Yes, I am that white trash...It's easier, okay? ;))

Liam has learned the Pledge of allegiance in his school. They say it every morning, and I am so proud that he already knows it. So here it is.

He's so dang cute!

This is my new favorite thing that Fox does. I think its so dang cute. You can kind of hear the kids (who are in their beds and suppose to be sleeping) yelling to Fox, that's what he keeps listening to. So Please enjoy "yelling Fox" :) (because in a couple of months it wont be so darn cute anymore).

Mommy's little helper

I didn't know it was time to clean the cupboard out, but Fox reminded me. Isn't he so helpful?

Willy Wonka

So here's the thing-
I decided that for Fox and Tony's birthday I was going to do a Willy Wonka themed birthday party. You know chocolate bar birthday invites that have a gold ticket inside and fun candy stuff. I need Candy decor ideas or just fun Willy Wonka party idea's.
What ya got?
:)

I want to
laugh
chortle
giggle
snort
But dark rain washes joy down a slimy, rocky drain
Why do I laugh at misery
When my drooping heart is turned upside down?
What washes the rain when it muddies the ground?
I don't know
It seeps with dripping heart and throat down the drain
And into the bowels of the earth

To my children

Dear children,
As I look back over the few years that me and your Dad have been married I want to let you know about something. When you are married you are going to fight. You'll fight, and you'll fight again. You'll fight about money. You'll fight about who's responsible for what. You'll fight about sex. You'll fight about dumb decisions. You'll fight about uncertainties in life. You'll fight about your kids. You'll fight about your parents and in-laws.
It just happens. And you'll be mad. No, you'll be furious. You'll want to punch something. You'll want to scream. You'll want to cry. And you'll want to be right. It's hard to admit when you are wrong.
But kids, here's my advice. Know that no matter who you marry, you'll fight. But marry someone that no matter how mad you get, you'll still want to come home to them. No matter how much you dislike them, you still love them. And know that. Know that you love them, no matter how bad it gets. If you know that-you'll be fine.
And if you forget, pray, and your father in heaven will help you remember.
I love you, and hope that you have lots of good, character/love building fights with the person you want to be with forever. I know I have. And I still love him-forever.
Love, Your Mom

Don't do it!

Tonight I made a phone call about an odd charge on my bank statement. I had bought one book from the company in March and was wondering why they had charged me $19.95 today. I was answered by an extremely rude costumer service lady who told me that when I bought the book I signed up for a monthly membership, in which I was being charged 19.95 every month! (Who knew?) When I told her of my frustration she replied with a condescending "Oh, my God!"
I was furious!! And for those of you who know me you know that any strong emotion is attached to my tear ducts, luckily I held off the actual down pour of tears until I was off the phone. After arguing with the woman for a while and a few more, "Oh, my God"'s I finally got the last payment of $19.95 refunded directly back into my account (well, at least supposedly, I have yet to actually receive it). I then told her that I was going to report them to the better business bureau and she replied snottily "That's fine, Mam" I could have punched her.
So I did....not punch her (I'm too much of a wuss for that...not to mention she was hundreds of miles away) I went to the bbb website and left my frustrations. Hopefully I will see something happen from it.
I was slightly nervous to tell Tony that I had wasted $100 of our money the past six months. When I did tell him he listened to my crying complaints, gave some helpful advice, and then added, my personal favorite, "and then we could kick them in the 'nards.'"
I sure love my husband. :)
If you were wondering the website, it's discountbooksales.com. It looks like an awesome deal, $5 off your first purchase and free shipping! I originally thought I bought the book for $1.25! Awesome right? But now I know I really bought the book for the fantastic price of $101.25... pretty costly book. I hope Mags enjoyed it ;) Happy $101.25 Birthday to him. :D
So if you are thinking of buying an awesomely priced book from discountbooksales.com...don't do it!! 'Cause it'll cost you way more then you bargained for.

Go Karts

Last Saturday we headed to Rock Island to watch some go kart races. People from all over came to compete in the race. The city shut down several blocks for the race to be done and it was extra fun to watch the racers fly around corners and sometimes crash (okay, I'll admit it, that was the best part...no one was hurt, don't worry :)). That's all that happened. Not too exciting, but I took some darn cute pictures, so enjoy the pictures from the go kart race track.

We went with our friends the Flynn's, and this is the Flynn kids :)

I think this picture needs some type of heroic Da-Da-Da!! music with it ;)
That is all. The end. :)

Girls day in

Today I decided to have a little bit of girl time with my favorite girl Emma.
How could anyone not love a girl so cute and her sucky lips?
I straightened her beautiful hair. :)
And Emma did my makeup...
I think she'll be a makeup artist one day ;)

it was fun
but this is what happens to your makeup after a 3 year old has her hands on it :)
I love my Emma
