LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

These smiles are genuine and not forced. There was no need to say "CHEESE!" Taken on the very last day of school, these 3 were ecstatic! The promise of Maggie Moo's ice cream after school to celebrate, free time to do whatever they choose, and no homework was enough to keep them smiling!

Schools Out Forever!

The home stretch of school was a sprint to the finish line. The pace was tremendous; plays, projects, performances, meetings, recitals, talent shows, class parties, field trips, and so on. I admit we grew a little weary, but we finished the race and tried to enjoy the journey.
A fun surprise arrived in the mail in the form of a letter honoring Kaylee for her character trait of responsibility. She was cordially invited to a breakfast and awarded an honor for her character. This year she undertook the reponsibilites of taking care of all of her homework and practicing and needs and I was appreciative that she was recognized for her efforts.
She also starred in the 4th grade play on the History of California as Susie and performed with a great deal of spunk and character.

Trent has decided to give up his nap which can make a day feel like a marathon . . . chasing him! He keeps us laughing and in perspective and warms our hearts with his prayers that he likes to give every time we gather.

Tyler's last school project was one of his favorite so far. The science assignment was to learn about and present a rain forest animal. Tyler chose spider monkeys. After researching online, he envisioned recreating the rainforest and their habitat. A trip to Michael's provided us with the Model Magic for the monkeys bodies, pipe cleaners for their tails and the trees, and a search around the house provided old silk plants and moss for the understory and canopy layers. After creating at least 50 monkeys and their prehensile tails, he went on to create snakes, their predators, bird eggs, a food they eat, coconuts, another favorite food, and a jaguar - the most feared predator. A little alliteration created the title "Tyler's Terrific Troop of Spider Monkey's" which he proudly carried to school to present.
Megan is our little star and her kindergarten singing performance was a highlight. Standing in the back row as one of the tallest in her grade, she sang with gusto and gave her best. Kindergartners are so endearing and this performance was truly heartwarming. She was saddended to finish school and enjoyed a fabulous year .

Triple washed

Trent was tripled washed like veggies. He had his first bath and then was dressed in jammies when he spotted Meggie having her bath and climbed in fully clothed to join the fun. He was pulled out, dried off, and dressed in another pair of jammies. Only to discover that Tyler left the shower door ajar and Trent climbed in for a third round. Should count for at least a week right?

Flying High

Most of Cameron's 5th birthday party was spent mostly in mid-air soaring and flying, jumping and falling. It was a fabulous, fun experience. Take a peek:

Trent trying out the slide for the first time. It must have seemed as tall as a mountain to him . . . He loved it!

Cameron's 5th Birthday Bash

Greg and Uncle Colby were a united force defending against the droves of attacking children that came in constant waves- a victory high five.

The birthday boy Cameron!

Trent loves Star Wars and became instantly attached to Cameron's cake toppers. That was all he needed for entertainment.

A rare moment together as sister- isn't she beautiful?
